The drinks are mostly beers, and the food may look basic but is better than it looks. Bigger interior and roomier than expected. It looked like it would be pretty cramped from the outside. There's a big bar at the end and quite a few tables. Also multiple TVs had games on. The rest of the entertainment includes slots. A good choice of drinks. It's about $7 for the Moonshine Slushies. Cool stuff literally. They had pumpkin apple spice flavor among others. As for the food, there's burgers. Pretty big ones from the looks of things. Also people like the ham sandwich. It's about $5 for a basket of tater tots. Always good to munch on these between drinks. They apparently also have a veggie burger if looking for that. For around here it's pretty good. It's nothing fancy but it's not some dumpy place with crass locals all saying stupid things, mostly. This is great for watching a game, playing on slots, or whatever.

Manager - if you are slammed, pull the person off break and give them a break later. Having people stand around (and there were more behind me) isn't good. The toppings tasted fresh. So Service needs attention, which means leadership / management at the shop. The food is okay, provided you don't mind waiting that long for what should be fast food.

They start you off with quite a relish tray providing liver pate, cheese spread, a imataion crab salad, kidney bean salad, beet salad, and assortment of veggies. We then had salads which had a blend of lettuce. My dressing was a fair blue cheese. I also had the French onion soup which did have a very mild and nicely browned cheese topping. The soup was good with plenty of flavor along with a nice offering of browned onions. For dinner my wife had the 7oz fillet (only size offered) and I had the rack of lamb. Both dinner were enjoyed and the rack of lamb was four double cut pieces that were cooked perfectly. I would recommend this dish. Service was attentive and friendly and overall the patrons who seemed to be a regular clientele, were also friendly and we felt welcomed both at the bar and when seated for dinner. I can say this will be part of our rotation and on Sundays with the German lineup of food, you will find us there for a Sunday meal.

There's always free samples of something sitting out on the counter. Nowhere near as good of a selection of beverages or coffee as Thorton's, but it's a couple miles closer to me than Thorton's. Stopped by this diner on 14 on my way to Wisconsin. Great food. I ordered the dinner beef stir fry and it was simply amazing, fresh veggies, steak was perfectly cooked, and the soup is out of this world. Very friendly staff, they genuinely care how your day is, opposed to staff who hate to be at there jobs. These gems are fading away. I'm just glad there's a few left. Will definitely be back. They also have a restaurant in Delavan named "Tana's family restaurant" they're brunch rocks!! read more

Sorry Erin, but I've been eating here for years and you're entirely wrong. The soups are homemade every single day and let me just add they are MIND BLOWING!! Great food and even better service. Very clean, bread is wrapped individually so they are never reused! Haven't had a single bad experience at this little hometown gem:) I have traveled to several different locations and let me just say it's hard to find this kind of quality at a local family diner. One side of the menu is breakfast, the other lunch. We were asked right away if we would like coffee. The staff here are all very nice and welcoming. Different members of staff came around to all tables several times during our stay refilling coffees as needed. Our waitress checked in on us a couple of times and actually stopped at the table to be sure we had all we needed, not just running past. We both ordered breakfast and the portions are generous. I had the Irish Bene and they don't skimp on the smoked salmon! The eggs were poached well, a generous amount of spinach and the potato pancake is tasty and light. I very much enjoyed their coffee. Strong, hot and smooth. Not at all bitter. Yay. Two remodled, single-person restrooms are at the back of the restaurant where you'll also find hooks for your coat.
