Strictly average and the food was cold. I've been there twice and both times I had the same experience.

We came for breakfast on a visit from out of town, as our friends have driven by dozens of times, and we liked the tents set up outside in the parking since it was a nice day. The menu was HUGE, so many choices, and some creative ones you don't see other places! The portions were gigantic, and very generous for the price! The food though, really left something to be desired. It was just generic tasting, and tasted more of a typical diner. The server was extremely rude, and seemed quite bothered by our mere presence. Nick's Kozy Nook is a Harvard Classic, and has been here for over 28 years. They have delicious food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Today, I ordered the Fish sandwich which is served with a side cup of soup, pickle wedge, some tartar sauce and lots of french fries. Good breakfast, terrible service! I took my girlfriend and daughter to breakfast the morning of 12/09. We seated ourselves, and were waited on by a short haired woman likely about 60. She was terrible! She walked up to us, didn't ask how we were or introduce herself. She simply held up her ticket pad to take our order. She came back twice while we were eating and told us we looked like we were doing good as she passed. Terrible attitude. I met a friend for breakfast and this place is the best diner in Harvard area. I did find it to be a little heavy on the salt so I will order mine without salt next time and season it myself. I had the Denver omelet and it was one of the better omelets I have had. They also substitute fruit for potatoes and the fruit disk was excellent. This place has constant flow of traffic but they do not rush you out the door. I will be coming again in a week and I am looking forward to it. read more

As far as the food goes, its diner breakfast done well. No complaints regarding the meal, it is what it is. The service was just appalling. Our server didn't seem to give a modicum of a shit, like we ruined her day by walking into her diner. When we went to pay, she asked if I had cash and was so annoyed that I didn't that she let out an audible groan and her eyes rolled so hard I wasn't sure if they'd come back down. I wish I could give this place no stars. Service was horrible. My family and I went here after a Christmas party. The waitress was not only rude but seemed bothered when we asked for napkins. The food was terrible. My finance's skillet had something that looked, smelled and tasted like corned beef. Not at all ham and bacon that he requested. The waitress was nothing but awful. Some older lady with short blonde hair was our waitress and boy did she hate her job and us, especially my fiancé. She barely came around and when she finally decided to come & check on us, she was walking away as we were asking her for a refill. My fiancé finally went to pay and it seemed as if he must've killed her puppy due to the glares she was giving him. The best part was when she threw the pen at him when he asked to use to sign the receipt then she threw the receipt at him. The owner noticed the rudeness and quickly came over to make sure everything was ok. To date we still don't know what this waitress' problem was but I guess we'll never find out since we will NEVER set foot in this place again. Food not so great and the service was awful. Almost seemed as she was out right rude since we weren't her "regulars". Must say that throughout it all, my fiancé was nothing but nice to her. This is a very average looking diner that is open limited hours Despite its humble appearance this diner has some things that it's got right. The food is of good quality, always served in generous portions and at a reasonable price. The staff treat you like family. This would be a three star review except for one thing. Nick's Kozy Nook is a favorite in Harvard, Dairy Capital of the World. We love to do takeout, especially during Covid. It's been great for our family. This is a great place for a quick, tasty breakfast or lunch. It's only open in the morning and afternoon, but the menu is excellent and extremely affordable. The first spark of hope was our server, Amy. Very good, friendly, helpful service. Then, when the food came, it actually looked pretty good! The breakfast was good (not gourmet, but good). The beef stir fry was great. The taco salad was excellent (it lived up to Amy's high recommendation). The grilled chicken sandwich looked pretty good, but didn't come with any toppings.
