Attention brides: don't skimp on a wedding coordinator when you have a large wedding. You don't need the stress! Our wedding had over 250+ guests and a wedding coordinator was a must. My husband and I had planned most of the wedding and we were looking for someone that could help us in the week leading up to the wedding and on the day of. I found Kelly through Craigslist and her price was really affordable. Given that we had a large wedding, Kelly also brought on two wedding assistants to help with the multiple events on the wedding day. From the moment I spoke with Kelly on the phone, I really appreciated her professionalism, attention to detail and her down to earth personality. After explaining the details our wedding, I was pretty confident she could do the job. Leading up to the wedding we met and finalized the details with her. She coordinated our wedding rehearsal and we gave her all the DIY decor, candy and other supplies for her to set up the day of the wedding. It was nice to know I didn't have to worry about decorating and little details like that the day of the wedding! On the day of the wedding, Kelly took the lead to setting up the venue and one of her assistants helped us with the setup and breakdown of our Chinese tea ceremony. The wedding venue and the decor at the reception looked beautiful when I saw it. Kelly did an amazing job of setting up. For the ceremony and the reception, I was confident that things were being taken care of. Kelly would come by and offer us anything that we needed and I appreciated how she helped packed everything up after the wedding was over so it was easy to take home. It was all very seamless. Looking back, if I had to comment on areas of improvement, I would say I wish Kelly had reminded me of things I probably forgotten to think about. For example, we had forgotten to give her our gift card and envelope box for the registration table (my parents had it in the back of their car) and guests were confused about where to leave the cards. I didn't realize it was missing till after the wedding and I thought that would be one forgotten detail that would have been pretty noticeable. Also during the reception, when some issues did occur, there were times where we couldn't find the wedding assistants or Kelly. Given that it was a big wedding, I understand they could have been monitoring everything behind the scenes, but we hoped that we could have had more access to them. We hired Kelly for our wedding and she was great! We had a 300 person Indian wedding, and so I was initially looking for someone who had more experience with indian weddings. But after talking to Kelly I was pretty sure she would be able to do everything we needed even though she didn't have much experience with an indian wedding before. And she did! Kelly started working with us about 2 weeks before our wedding, and she did everything to make sure our day was perfect and we didn't have to worry about anything. She handled all the vendors perfectly and made sure everything was running the way it needed to be. It was obviously a little harder at times since Indian weddings have so many parts to it and someone who hasn't done indian weddings before might not know each thing or each name, but Kelly worked hard and made sure everything got done. Kelly is an absolutely amazing wedding coordinator and I can't thank her enough for everything she did for our wedding! We hired Kelly for partial planning and day of coordination, and she helped us so much with everything. Many of the vendors she has worked with will offer a discount since you were referred by Kelly, and because of this we saved enough money that we were able to get things we didn't think we were going to be able to afford (like a huge dessert bar!). Kelly helped us find all of our vendors and choose out the vendors' packages that best fit in our budget while still being what we wanted. Finally, she was a total lifesaver: the bridal party, my husband, and I all left in a limo to go take pictures before the ceremony, and the limo ended up leaving us there with no way to contact him. To make matters worse, my long veil was too heavy and kept falling off, and no one had bobby pins to get it to stay. Our photographer called Kelly, who immediately took off to get to us. We made it to the ceremony 10 minutes before it started and Kelly got my veil to stay on through the whole ceremony! We were really happy that we found Kelly to day coordinate our wedding. For even DIY brides, trust me, you need at least a day of coordinator, and Kelly is the perfect match. She was very attentive and made the whole process of planning a wedding, especially with us living in Sweden, very easy. She took care of all of the little things that never crossed my mind. If you are thinking of hiring Kelly Raba Events for your wedding, stop thinking about it and just do it! My experience: I was convinced I didn't need any help with my wedding. My wedding venue, the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa, required a Day Of Coordinator so I reluctantly began interviewing. I was jaded by everyone I interviewed until I met Kelly. Not only was I extremely impressed by Kelly's years of experience, but her genuine love for weddings was contagious. Within minutes, I was excitedly showing her pictures of my dress and running all of my ideas by her for feedback. Before the interview was over, she was hired. Fast forward to the weeks leading up to the wedding. Kelly and I met to go through the details of the day. I proudly handed her a 26-page planning guide with a Table of Contents, Appendix, and detailed checklists for each aspect of the wedding. In my mind, I had thought of everything. NOPE. Kelly was immediately able to identify potential gaps in my grand plan and help me work through them. Total savior. Then came the wedding weekend. First, the rehearsal. Kelly had the wedding party run through everything not once, but twice, to ensure they were clear (I had a few bridesmaids comment that they found it really helpful and wished their coordinators did it for their weddings). Next, the actual wedding. We had a pretty complicated wedding that involved multiple traditions from both sides of the family (including Jewish, Scottish, French, and Canadian). I was shocked by how easily I was able to let go, knowing that everything was in good hands (Kelly's hands). She and her team kept our rowdy, impatient bridal party in check, set up the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception sites perfectly with the intended decorations, coordinated with all the vendors to ensure they were where they were supposed to be on time, and made sure the day ran smoothly so I didn't have to worry about a single thing and could enjoy my wedding day. When there were a few minor things out of our control that didn't go as planned, she approached me professionally, explained the situation gently and informed me of what was being done to remediate the situation(s).
