They said that there would be 250 dollars for diagnostics and I agreed. They came and concluded that the pressure from the pump was not sufficient and it needed to be changed.I agreed and paid 1146 dollars fo the pump. But the problem was not fixed.I calked them again. They came again and spent much time waiting on the phone for Navien to support them. Then they said there was a problem with the ignition module and replaced it and-still no solution .Then they visited again, and this time, they told me that venturi needed to be changed and billed me 9 hours of work at 125 dollars per hour.But my unit is still not working. I asked to cancel the invoice because I have no control over the number of hours, and also,although I had to pay for several parts and labour, the unit is not working.I have been waiting to hear about the cancellation of the invoice, but there has been no response yet.I don't recommend these people .Tehy can not solve the problem, but still,they bill you for many hours. For example, a few years ago I had a furnace manifold that got stuck. They offered to replace it but only replaced the upper part and not the lower gas line even though it was rusted. I later found out that the price I was charged should have included the replacement of the lower gas line. This season I had them do fall maintenance on my furnace and the technician lowered the temperature on my water-heater without asking. But this caused the pilot to go out. When I complained they just shrugged. I will most likely use a different company going forward.

We were very fortunate for Eco Star's service, as we also called another HVAC company and didn't hear from them. Since it was a last minute service request and it was during the holidays, their rate is $195+tax - compared to their normal rate of $95+tax for the initial inspection. Eco Star's technician was able to fix the furnace and we're now literally warm and comfortable for Christmas day. Thank you Eco Star! I'd recommend Eco Star to anyone.

Econoair sold a Maytag A/C to me back in 2008 and offered 12 years warranty (parts and labor)…read more Problems came hand in hand with the installation: 1) the technician decided where he wanted to put the unit w/o asking me and went ahead and drilled a big hole on my wall. When I found out and pointed out that wasn't the reasonable location, he went ahead and drilled another hole! Yes he did patch the first hole... with ugly paint and filling stuff. 2) The same summer, I realized my A/C is not cooling at all. Econoair sent another technician on site, who confirmed the initial installation wasn't done correct and the unit wasn't working at all. It appears he did fix the problem... to some extent. I mean thereafter I constantly have difficulty with cooling. When I complained in 2010 they sent 2 technician on site, who claimed there was nothing wrong based on the fact that the A/C was producing code air, and wanted to charge for the "service". This year it got even worse. I can't even bring my room temperature down to 21 degree when the outside is only 26. When I phoned Econo air, Bruce the owner first claimed my A/C is fine and blamed my duct work. When I pointed the preset temperature is never reached even after leaving the A/C run for a whole day, he finally admitted there is indeed something wrong but refused to do anything because "Maytag has discontinued in Canada". What can i say, if Maytag decided to pull out of the country and not to fulfill outstanding warranty, it is a problem between the Maytag and Econo Air (as the retailer). After all, I didn't purchase from Maytag. Make sense? However, Bruce decided to make the problem his customer's. He is very professional, answered my calls and got back to me promptly. He also worked around my schedule to arrange an appointment that was convenient for me. He was upfront about the cost and process, and took his time with his investigation. It did not feel like a rushed visit. In terms of his professionalism, I would give him 5 stars. Unfortunately I was not satisfied with his work. He was able to successfully rule out the actuator valve as the issue, but was incorrect with his diagnosis. He believed it to be the temperature of the water supply to the building, which turned out to be incorrect. I ended up having to go through my building's contractor, who traced the issue back to the control panel. Again, Sam was extremely professional but ultimately was unable to resolve the issue for me - which is why I would not go with him again.
