Its close to the pub which only locals stick too & is also really close to the well known Mortdale Bike shed. People probably not aware of this place cause its only open from 12pm on fridays & Saturdays and every other day is open fron 5pm. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you notice all the old school Fire station memorabilia hung up all over the walls :)!! So the the name Fire house Grill is the perfect name for this place :). Was here at the restaurant for a mother's day dinner with the family to beat the hustle & bustle rush of the real mothers day tomorrow :)!! We ordered a mixed entrée with, ribs off the bone, tasty pork belly with a creamy slaw topping, king prawns with a crumbed cheese coating, haloumi cheese, salad with 2 dipping sauces (garlic & tzatziki). For dinner majority had fillet mignone with chips salad and dipping sauce of your choice, i had a oven roasted duck with a tasty salad and mum had the braised beef cheek which tasted a bit over cooked and dry byt all the other maibs were very nice :)!! For dessert 2 people had the mango creme Bruleé which was outstanding, my sister had a perfection sticky date pudding which is never served big enough to satisfy your needs lol & i had a freesh fruit & Cheese platter with a peppermint tea.. the perfect tasty end to a nice dinner night out with the family :)!! Really enjoyed dining at this place.. been here about 4 times now and would recommend it to anyone i know .. and must mention again that while waiting for your food to come out and if you weren't conversing it was really nice to stare around the restaurant & study all the fire house memorabilia they had to offer :)

Main I opted for the Rib Eye (pictured) is a beef steak from the rib section. The rib eye steak's internal fat melting into the meat creates one of the juiciest steak eating experiences imaginable. And dessert Apple Pie: fried apple pastry with apple toffee cream, sour apple gel, mascarpone icecream and smoked maple syrup... The staff are knowledgeable and laid-back creating a chilled out atmosphere. The idea here is to load some cash money onto a debit card which they give to you to keep; I loaded mine up with $50 for 3 people on a lazy Saturday afternoon. There is a huge selection of wines from Chardonnay to Shiraz and many regions are on display. Grab a glass and choose your preferred wine, enter your pre-paid debit card and select whether you are after a taste, 1/2 or a full glass (prices ranging from $1.75 - $12.00 depending on size). There are also meat, cheese and snack platters on offer and we went for the big dog - $60 for meats, cheeses, unlimited bread, olives, pate, pickles and dips. The food was good though a little overpriced. We didn't end up spending all of the money on our debit card so it now acts like a gift card and can be used upon return to either sample more wines or even buy a bottle (or 2)! Great spot for a drink before a movie or an afternoon with the girls.
