(4 1/2 stars) An institution in the city of Scranton! The big argument about this place will be that they have "pigeon wings" or tiny wings. While their wings do tend to be smaller than other normal or even jumbo sized wings, to call them pigeon wings is just ridiculous. If you're someone who eats an order of 10 feel free to order 15 here and get the same full belly effect. The one thing they have going on that cannot be matched is consistency. It doesn't matter who's cooking, the day of the week, or the crowd size. The wings are always the same size, cooked the same way, and sauced the same way. I do feel as if they travel well too due to their smaller size. Reheating them with an extra side of sauce, has proven to be a hit at parties. They deserve to be in the conversation for best wings in the area. The staff is friendly and attentive. There is a large family friendly dining room. The one negative, I do wish the bar area was larger. If you're able to find a seat, it is a nice time, but it is a very narrow and limited seating experience. read more

After a few years not going to Kelly's, I found the wings to be the small ones, as they come in small and large. The small ones have Wing Night at 50 cents apiece . Kelly did away with Wing Night and 10 wings are $12 The wings I got were very small and over cooked for my taste. 2 bits and it was gone . If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is an embarrassment. The wait staff gets lost in the clouds with no direction on where to go or what to do. The food is just outright bad. I got a chicken wrap and wings and not only was the wrap just lettuce and tomato but they are straight up robbing people blind with the size of the wings. They should make sure on the menu they promote 1 bite wings before the people order them. Not only was the size of the wings the smallest I have ever seen but it tasted like the fryer oil hasn't been changed in months. Please do yourself a favor and save yourself the trip. Best wings in Pennsylvania period. Kelly's has been in business and making deep fried wings since 1754- yep that's before the revolutionary war. They are a classic Irish pub with a restaurant area and a bar area. Sit at the bar area unless you have a large family. God beer is good and cold. Excellent assortment of bottled beer too. However I recommend the mixed drinks especially the MICHELE MARTINI. Get that and a dozen or two wings (extra crispy) you can't go wrong. Tell them Joe J sent you and you'll get the martini with a side car. Essentially Two martinis. Again tell them Joe J told you about this. Have fun. Going to Kelly's for wings always puts me in a good mood. I am addicted to hot wings, and Kelly's never lets me down. They're not the biggest or meatiest wings in the area, but they are consistently cooked to perfection...hot and crispy with just the right amount of sauce. I always start with an order of their hot, and if I'm still hungry, follow up with an order of hot/garlic. It's also a plus that you can order all drums or all flats at no extra charge. My one complaint is that I wish they had a larger selection of draft beer. At least they always have Harp Lager and a Sam Adams seasonal on tap. Excellent food, terrible service. I'll start with the good side first. Everytime I go here I always get something different, and they never disappoint. Every salad tastes great and the burgers and wings are unrivaled. Speaking of the wings, they're the best in the area. A little on the crispy side and bursting with spice and flavor. You can't go wrong with any type of sauce and the prices are good for what you're getting. If only my Kelly's experience had a "happier ever after ending", I'd be giving this place 5 stars. However, the service was awful. The speed at which my food came out was decent, but the waitress I had was very rude, disrespectful, and dull to my entire party. She constantly made comments on things she had no place butting in, and polarized my entire eating experience. I'm not one to get offended at many things, but what she was saying some very disrespectful things (that I chose not to specify) that were completely uncalled for. That is because they are premium quality wings that are not pumped up with fillers - you can just taste it. If you want giant, fatty, slimeball wings, that's up to you. These are crispy, tangy, buttery, spicy, and overall delicious and I hope they never change! This is a no-frills establishment and I love it- everything is always so good. My dad orders French onion soup at every restaurant he visits. He travels a lot, and Kelly's still can't be beat. Their spinach bacon salad is 100. Great food, but customer service was a real issue for me and my friends tonight. We went and ordered one plate of 50 wings and split it amongst 5 people. We are all college aged kids and we dont make alot, so when we get to go out to eat it is a big event. At the end of our dinner when we got our check, our waitress tried to tip herself for 18 percent, which was absurd. When she came by the table I asked her if she would take off the 18 percent and that we would still tip but didnt have enough to pay 74 dollars when we were already paying 63. She proceeded to give me a nasty attitude and slammed the receipt in front of my face. So everyone in Scranton talks about how great this place is and how they have amazing wings... The wings are delicious for sure, but they're TINY. They're like the littlest wings ever, and they're $0.70 each. Doesn't seem like a lot, but when you compare that to most places in the area that have $0.35-$0.50 wings, it kinda sucks. They have a very limited selection of draft beers, mostly Light beers and Yuengling, pitchers are $6.50 if I remember correctly. Also, if you're going to get wings, make sure you order Hot or Very Hot, my wife got the Medium and they were extremely mild, I got the Hot, and they were what I would call a "medium", but still very good. read more
