I recently came here for dinner and was not impressed. I asked for a table outside since the weather was nice. Sat there for over 10 minutes and the waitress never came over. The hostess happened to come outside and at least got my drink order and an appetizer. I started with the cauliflower bites which were unfortunately standard frozen heavily breaded. I wanted to order something else and again no waitress came over to finally someone did. I ordered the balsamic glaze chicken salad which took way too long to come out. The chicken had a weird texture to it, but at least the lettuce was fresh. Overall, the service was not very good considering the place was not busy and the food was definitely just average. I would not come back here next time I'm in the area. read more

We were in town and decided to check this place out as it was away from our hotel which was surrounded by chain restaurants. It was a short drive and the pictures and foods listed on the website sounded like just our style. We were here on a weekday afternoon and were happy that it had a HUGE outside patio. Sweet! We were able to choose our own table and were immediately greeted by a friendly server with menus. The draft beer list is very extensive which made it hard to decide but we figured it out! The waitress suggested we try their steak and cheese egg rolls (seems to be a popular item in this area as we saw it at other locations). She was not wrong! They came out relatively quick which was great because we were hungry and they were delicious! She informed us that their pizza oven was down so no calzones, flatbreads, or pizzas were available. That was a downer but we came up with other food items that sounded good (see pictures). Overall, really casual place that was easy to chill at inside or outside. Seemed popular for after-work hangouts. They also had a stage in the corner for live music. My clients decided to get lunch from this location. The order was placed via phone, and I picked it up. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked in and was greeted. The nice young lady took my payment and grabbed the food. I left shortly after. I ordered the fried fish sandwich, and it was tasty with the chipotle sauce. I enjoyed my visit to the Union Craft House. Beer selection was good. Bar patrons were friendly. Bar staff was somewhat attentive. Food is good but not exceptional. Burgers were recommended by other patrons at the bar. I tried the prosciutto ciabatta, not bad. I was annoyed by the " potato pancakes" I ordered. I'm impressed. I moved out of the valley many years ago and back then this wasn't a great location. Someone did a lot of work and did a good job at it. I had the buffalo chicken sub. It was 8 out of 10. Clean place, visually appealing, good bottle selection, reasonable prices, friendly staff. What more do you want? I'll definitely be back next time Jug O' Jack plays. read more

The pizza was very weak in flavor, and I was not a fan of the mix of sauce. I had hope that the overflowing cheese would assist, but it didn't add much in terms of flavor. The wing bites were very unevenly seasoned, though the sauce itself was pretty classic. If you've ever wondered what a steak and cheese spring roll would taste like and where you could find such an out-of-the-box combination, look no further, you've made it home baby. We found the union craft house randomly looking for a place to chill and get rid of pre-exam jitters. They have two entrances: one takes you to their indoor dining area and the other takes you straight to their outdoor dining area. It was an amazing day so we chose to sit outside. Although the restaurant is located right on the highway, the outdoor sitting area is enclosed, making it feel like on a beach vacation. They also recycle their beer barrels and use them as tables, adding to the beach vibes. The workers are really nice and accommodating, going as far as setting us up with our own table barrel to sit on...thanks Tom! Now on to the important stuff - not only are the food combos here unique but they're also delicious. If you're an eggroll/spring roll type of person we strongly recommend the steak and cheese egg rolls. If you're not a eggroll/spring roll person... what is you doing?! The cheese is melted and the steak is cooked to perfection PLUS they give you a homemade mixed siracha and ketchup sauce that gives it an extra kick and sweetness to balance out saltiness. I was very much in a burger mood so I got their Porter-Bella burger. Rick chose health and got the Ancient grain and turkey sandwich. Both meals came with fries and we ordered their signature beer cheese sauce. We HIGHLY recommend the BEER CHEESE as it took each bite to the next level. For my beer lovers out there, this place has a wide selection of beers that you can play around with. We chose to get flight to give different beers a try. If you're an avid beer drinker, they even have a beer hall of fame where each person who drinks 100 12oz or more beers from this bar gets their picture hung up plus perks. Just outside the city limits of Scranton lies one of the best New American restaurants in the area. Expansive menu with thoughtfully inexpensive prices. It has a few peers, certainly, as most places have figured out how to make a decent burger over the last decade, but this is one definitely worth checking out. read more

I had lunch here with a coworker visiting the area, and I was very happy with my burger. I went with the Hangover Cure and it was delicious. I got it medium well and it was cooked perfectly. I love the brioche bun they use and the hand cut fries were great. Service was friendly and fast, even as it got busier. They offer outdoor and indoor seating, with games and lots of parking. I wasn't able to hang out for very long, but considering coming back for a happy hour in the future. read more

Very Disappointed!! We always liked this place! But the last few times we haven't been impressed. Yesterday was our last visit. We purposely choose off times to visit restaurants so we don't hit the crowds. We understand that service suffers when places are very busy. This place wasn't crowded when we got there. We were seated promptly and given menus. After that it was all downhill. Our server took our drink order and couldn't even rember who ordered what. I had a special request for my stromboli and said if it's an issue I'd gladly order something else. I used to love their Italian stromboli, but then they started putting diced ham in it instead of slice ham.. My ask, was that if they couldn't use sliced ham then I'd glady order something else. FORTY MINUTES later our food came out! Not one visit from our server to tell us that we weren't forgotten. Our food was delivered by someone else from the kitchen. Guess what was in my stromboli? Diced freaking ham!! Our server from what I can see wasn't that busy, but neglected to stop by our table even when an empty drink that needed refilling was sitting at the edge of the table. Finally we had to flag her down. My wife had a pathetic looking chicken sandwich with one slice of tomato that was so thin it only had one side. Her freshcut fries were ice cold, brown, and dried out. Some places should just serve frozen fries! Very few places know how to make a fresh cut French fry properly. Try Five Guys if you want a truly great fresh cut French fry.. Sadly we will no longer be going to this establishment. I much prefer writing a review for excellent food and service, but this obviously isn't one of those. read more

The bartender Zac was friendly at first but repeatedly forgot to bring us our drinks and then rudely blamed us for his forgetfulness. He snapped at us in front of everyone at the inside bar, walking away yelling "whatever." Never in my life has this happened to us. We were shocked and quickly asked for our check and spent our money elsewhere. Maria was very pleasant and helpful. Boom boom shrimp was over cooked as well. We won't be back. read more

Went to the restaurant to watch the Super Bowl. Good food, good waitress service, great selection of beers. Only negative was the bartender's attitude. The place was surprisingly quiet...empty seats at the bar and only 2 booths occupied. Sat at a table and after a few minutes, we asked the waitress whether they were going to turn the sound on for the game or keep playing music while the game was on. When she asked the bartender, he told her to do it. She didn't know how. When she asked him to help, he said the game doesn't start for 10 minutes. I told her if they can't get the sound on, we'll just go somewhere else. While we were getting our coats on, he decided to help put the sound on. We didn't want to miss the opening kickoff so we moved to a table close to the tv's. If we decide to go there again and he's tending bar, we'll know enough to just turn around and find another bar with friendlier bartenders. read more
