When I found that a franchise of Kelly's Roast Beef opened in Naples, I was excited. An image of roasted beef sandwiches, fried clam and seafood flowed through my mind. Kelly's is a staple on Revere Beach, Boston! We called it New England Coney Island! We stop by Kelly's at the Collier Blvd and Immokalee Rd little before 6:00 PM on a Thursday night. The place has only two tables occupied and nearly empty! We ordered a small roast beef sandwich meal and lobster roll meal. Originally, I intended to order fried clams but changed my mind at last minute to lobster roll. You order at the counter and the staff will bring them to your table! The roasted beef sandwich was fine, and tender. The French fries requested without any seasoning was nice, hot and crunchy! Good sandwich! Lobster rolls are normally serve Maine or Connecticut style. Maine lobster rolls is served with lobster chilled in mayo and crunchy greens like celery, chives and/or scallions. A Connecticut lobster roll is served warm, dunked in butter with a toasted bun. The lobster roll at this Kelly's is served chilled on a split top roll. Yes, it looks like the meat from the claw, knuckle and leg of lobster and perhaps from the tails! It needed a little lemon juice and/or warmed garlic butter! The fries were heavily seasoned and on the salty side! As we chow down, a few patrons arrived. Now they have 7 tables. Maybe Thursday night is a slow night! The roasted beef sandwich lives up to the fond memory but the lobster roll needs a little more work! There were a few pictures from their old establishments from many decades ago. The staff is friendly. It is really a 3 1/2 stars. Growing up in Boston and literally going to Kelley's weekly for scallops, fish and chips, hot dogs, lobster rolls and clam chowder. My first time here was on the opening weekend, and boy, was it crazy. I went through the drive thru, and they were doing everything they could to keep up. It was good but worth it being so busy it could have been better I had to return the next time I was in town, and the experience was ten times better. I really wanted to like this place. From the outside it seemed like a beautiful building and great concept. Even the location is really easy to get in and out of (rare around here). But the food wasn't really to my liking and definitely came out more expensive than I would have thought. I paid $18 for a roast beef sandwich, fries, and a milkshake. I think when a restaurant comes in with an out-of-town "cultural" experience, it works better when the same food isn't already availably in the local market. Kelly's serves pretty much the same exact food you can get someplace else in town, and the quality is as good or better, but without the price tag. There was nothing all that "special" to me about the food I had. The fries where like any other fries... nice potato taste, maybe a little too limp for my taste. The sandwich was like any other sandwich... although the sauce was actually petty tasty and different from others I've had. The milkshake... well, it wasn't at all the quality of shake I was expecting from a place like this. It was a bit watery and seemed to have ice crystals. All of this said, there is a lobster roll on the menu that I will probably go back and try, even though it's pricey at something around $25. But if the lobster is done well, it could be worth it. They also have a full-belly clam sandwhich, which I would LOVE to try, but honestly, I can't imagine ever paying the $25 price for it. read more

I've been there before and it was just OK. Price is high servings on the small side. Tonight we called ahead to order and we're on our way to the restaurant when they answer the phone. They said they were closed now it was 5:45 PM. They said they were slow Tonight so they were closing. If that's not horrible customer service not sure what is. So good to have another unique food experience in the new "north east" of Naples. Today was opening day and after seeing so many other reviews from other cities I knew I had to try. Let's talk another the food. In most official pictures the roast beef is perfectly pink. Not today though. I had the Original Roast Beef Sandwich prepared 3 way which has cheese, mayo and bbq sauce. Not bad, but as mentioned before, a little more pink would have made it perfect. I substituted the fries in my meal to the made on house onion rings which was a good choice. Perfectly crispy and delicious while also not being greasy. Overall Kelly's Roast Beef is a winner. Today was opening day jitters but there's only one way to go up and I truly believe they will. Don't let the prices scare you but on a real note, this is a once in awhile treat for me and my family. My only one gripe is the loud Christian music that is played. I'm not against any music but the choice to play Christian music strikes me as weird. Just my opinion but I will definitely return! I always applaud a franchise and the owners that take the risk to give their communities new things to try. The line was out the door so it must be good, right? Wrong. What a disappointment the service and the food was not good. Unlike some patrons, we only had to wait about 30 mins for our order. They're newly open, so I get that things may not be going right during the first week. I've given an extra star because they're new... otherwise my rating would have been 0 stars. Every table in the place was occupied, but it looked like only one table had food and everyone else was waiting. Strange. The food arrived at our table cold. Clearly the food was siting around waiting for a long time (probably 30 mins!)... Onion rings that were colder than then air conditioning in my house.... and the beef sandwich was lukewarm at best. Closer to room temperature, honestly. Some other review mentioned they wish the meat were more pink than they received. I should have taken a picture because our two sandwiches were nearly raw. They were cold and mushy, very pink and difficult to even chew through. Cold, chewy and flavorless (save for the bbq sauce we both added). My daughter got a hamburger and said it was fine, but that she thinks the hamburgers at McDonald's are better. That's saying something. My other daughter got the kids mac-n-cheese meal, which was suspiciously similar to Kraft Mac-n-cheese. It too arrived at room temperature and she didn't finish it. For a little over $51 we left very disappointed. The dog ate my wife's full sandwich because she abandoned it after one bite. The dog didn't seem to complain, so there's a positive note. I managed to get about 1/3 of mine down before I said forget it. I didn't want to get sick from eating it. I feel bad writing a bad review but people should be aware of what kind of quality they're getting for their hard earned money. Will I go back? Unlikely. I don't see how they can improve if that is how the sandwich is supposed to be served: room temperature and rare. I'll stick to Arby's for roast beef from now on. Despite all the bad reviews I read, I was optimistic that it would be good since they just opened another restaurant. Do not order the clams. I thought that $30 for a side was a lot, but I figured it was expensive because it was decent seafood. Well, it's not. I took 2 bites and threw the rest away. Super fishy taste. There's a possibility that they were not good to serve. The sandwich was alright. I was starving so I finished my plain bread and roast beef. I guess you're supposed to know to ask for toppings. Being from Massachusetts I was so excited to have Kelly's come to Naples. For the past year I have been a good customer recommending Kelly's to friends and visiting frequently. Last week i ordered a roast beef sandwich and onion rings to go....the service was good and it only took a few minutes to have my order ready to go. When I got home and open the bag putting the sandwich and onion rings on a plate I began to eat. So disappointing, the roast beef was well done and absolutely soaked in BBQ sauce and the onion rings were mostly still frozen. I could not eat the onion rings and did eat most of the sandwich because i was so hungry but it wasn't up to my standards and would venture to say not up to Kelly's management standards either. It will be a long time before I go back and I will not longer be able to recommend Kelly's in good faith to friends. I hope management reads this review and takes the review seriously because I want Kelly's to succeed. I may give it one more try in a couple of weeks. So sad! read more

Sadly to say , your restaurant still disappointed and actually in a very high-level. Your food is extremely over , and consistent, You feel like you're ordering at McDonald's and then you sit down and then you realize everyone else around you is very unhappy also . The food was the food was nowhere near what it should be for the price point . I'm sorry to say I really don't think you're going to make it in that spot . As far as the ambience of the store is literally ordering McDonald's, waiting for lack luster food. You really have a lot to work on if you are thinking to make it that spot. My primary "beef" about this location is the crazy wait time in the drive thru. I have learned from the past that if there are 2 or more cars in the drive thru I don't even think about it. Today I am the only car in line to order. From the speaker ...." Just a moment please".... 3 minutes goes by. "What would you like?" Place order and pull up to window and pay. The manager (I believe) takes the payment and closes the window. No other communication. Minutes go by. Now 6 or 7 minutes later the window opens and my order is handed out. Window closes. What can possibly take so long to put one sandwich together ? What gives? Very few cars in parking lot and some of them were likely the employees. When i first got the food I was blown away by the small amount of food for $30. 3 shrimp and some small clam peices, then tried to make box look full with fries. Then the smell hit, clams smelled and tasted rancid. i ate the 3 frozen shrimp and a few fries them threw the clams in the trash. Having been to the original Kelly's, we have been wanting to try the one at Founder's Square in Naples. We went for lunch and both had their large roast beef sandwich. The meat was rare (the way we like it) and I loved the toasted sesame seed bun. The sandwich was delicious. The French fries had a nice seasoning to them. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. The person taking our order was pleasant and the manager brought our food out and was also very nice. Can't wait for the other Naples site to open, as it's much closer to us. They do serve beer and wine also. Ordered 2 roast beef sandwich meals and a ice tea. Sitting the drive thru right now, placed my order at 11:40, I've seen 7 cars just drive out of the line behind me. Came here for a quick bite before the baby in the back wakes up and needs a bottle. Guess what! I fed him 3 Oz of milk before I have even smelled my food! Update... got my food at 12:18..... 38 min wait for two of their staple sandwich meals. Even if it's the best meal of my life, it will not make up for the time spent. Based on the mixed reviews, my expectation was not high. I got the small three way roast beef sandwich with the bbq sauce on the side, and added horseradish sauce on the side as well. This sandwich was absolutely amazing. Tender, juicy, perfectly toasted bun. I added the horseradish sauce to it and occasionally dipped into the bbq. It was delicious. I did not care for the onion rings. Coating was think and chewy. Will definitely return. read more

I was really excited after seeing reviews and info from other locations. After reading the reviews the first week I was skeptical. People saying they waited an hour and the meat was over cooked. We got 2 small sandwiches today. We tried the triple and got another plain small roast beef with cheese and horseradish sauce. It was warm and fresh. The beef was freshly sliced thin and a perfect pink medium rare. Give this place a chance and help them recover from the nasty week one reviews. Next time we will try more stuff. read more
