We started with their drink specials..a frozen vodka drink and a Redemption bourbon double. Prices were super cheap in our opinion. My wife had the baby back ribs with mixed vegetables and they fell off the bone. Sauce was amazing. I had their Surf and Turf special . Steak was cooked just right and the shrimp stuffed with crab meat were very good. Portions were huge and unfortunately we could not take anything home since we were staying at a hotel. This is a family owned and operated that feels like home. Decor is really cool and definitely a place to stop in whether just for drinks, appetizers,burgers or steaks.

It was delightful listening to the chatter between the staff and their "regulars". The bar itself was a very classic, old town bar. I was slightly concerned about the potential of a lingering smoke smell (just because I am very sensitive to the smell), but I didn't smell anything. It was very clean. The bathroom situation was different. Just a separate men's toilet closet and a women's toilet closet with the sink outside in the hall. The signage in the women's bathroom made me giggle. Would definitely stop here again if we are ever in the area again!!

Next onto the wings, the wings were okay. I ordered the pineapple and the BBQ ones. Both were not horrible just a tad bit more salty than I expected but they were big which I appreciated. Finally the stuffed mushrooms; they were okay as well. If you asked me what is in them I would not be able to tell you but the taste wasn't bad. I was more worried about all that liquid that was on the plate. The best item I had was the lemon drop martini as I think my bartender just gave me 90% vodka and 10% lemonade. Oh and the funny part is all appetizers aren't half off apparently because I just got one appetizer half off from the bill, so I guess it's limit 1. This would've been solved if they had an actual menu or the waitress was informed. In total I paid about $45. At that price point just go somewhere else.

We ate at Gem City Pizzeria & Mexican. The lettuce seemed to be the only thing that did not come out of a can; from the salsa and small pieces of broken chips to the drinks and main entrees. The "spicy beef" is tasteless and other "meats" used taste boiled. My husband and I ordered the Enchilada Combo and the Tamale and Taco Combo. (There is only so much cheese you can put on something to try and make it edible.) There are apparently 4 other restaurants in this local chain, and while currently visiting family, we were encouraged to try 2 others, Kelly's and The Abby, as they are supposed to be local favorites. The Abby offered service from recalcitrant bartenders. The food mirrored that of the pizzeria, tasteless and from a can. No seasoning or flavor to speak of (Nachos). Again with the "spicy beef", no more than sliced boiled roast beef from a bag. It did NOT go well. Buffalo chicken tenders were no more than heated frozen chicken tenders literally swimming in a bottled sauce. The ribeye and boiled bland asparagus were ridiculously overpriced for what was received. The ambiance was noisy, chaotic and uncomfortable as waiting patrons leered at you to finish. Kelly's is an establishment with sticky floors in a dark interior hoping no one sees the dirt. The wait staff did not take the time to refill drinks or check back on the food. We felt we were in a "get in/get out" quick as you can time schedule for the waitress. The rice was overcooked and soggy. The over boiled broccoli was flavorless. The desserts were not fresh. If this is what locals consider to be great restaurant, they need to get out of town more often. read more

I previously wrote a four star review because the waitress seemed to be avoiding our table. A friend of mine, my son and myself recently went back. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful. We got the salad bar with our dinner, which was delicious! I filled up on the salad bar and didn't even touch my shrimp fettuccine until the next day. When I did eat it the next day however, I realized that it came with butter sauce instead of the normal sauce so I was a little disappointed about that, and also they only put 3-4 shrimp in it. Didn't seem very much for the money I spent. However, I will return! read more

This place is awesome. We don't eat much and are very picky because of medical issues. Most places give us a hard time about our needs but these guys actually split our plate in the kitchen before it got to the table without us even asking. We always split our meals and these guys just acted like it was normal. We will read more
