I purchased a Travese in 2019 from Kelsey and my experience was as hoped- Fantastic. Being an older man, I remember my first new car purchace ever from ANDE Chevrolet in 1985 and again Fantastic experiece with the same property in Lawrenceburg Indiana. Since that 1985 Monte Carlo SS I have bought new cars regularly while moving aroud the country with jobs. I have bought new cars since 1985 in 1987, 1989, 1992, 1995, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016 - 2 cars that year and 2019 Chev Traverse from now Kelsey Chevrolet. In the end of 2021 I again went with Kelsey and purchased a new 2022 Traverse yet to arrive but soon coming I am told. My point is I know the purchasing process and these guys ARE GOOD.... They had my truck for 3 weeks. Service advisor wouldn't return my calls and lied to my face. Problem was never fixed they just keep replacing the same part until you go elsewhere I guess? Service manager wont return calls. Was told id get a call back when he got out of a meeting 4 days ago...still waiting. They make you feel like you are unconvincing them by being there. Worst experience I have ever had in my life. We bought a brand new Chevrolet Traverse. The day we drove off the lot, the screen went out. We had to bring it in the shop. Then we had check engine lights coming on non stop. We had coolant leak after coolant leak. We got the run around with service and getting a loaner car. We were inconvenienced with a smaller vehicle and having to fit my kids and all their stuff. We have been in and out of the shop so many times I lost count. Once we can get in touch with people there, they are generally nice. But getting in touch is a challenge. My patience has run out. We just brought it in for another leak. They blamed in on a small accident that we had with a parking bollard. The damage was hardly noticeable. I showed them where the 2 leaks were. We turned it over to insurance. They had the car for 2 months. They "fixed" it. Then we brought it home and now its leaking again. It's leaking from one of the spots that I initially showed them. Now they're saying they will not cover it. So they sent it home with a leak after fixing a leak. I am honestly speechless. I would avoid Chevrolet all together and I would stay away from Kelsey. read more

Just picked up our 2017 Ford F150 from Kelsey Chevrolet, and there are fault codes and lamps at the instrument cluster that were not there prior to drop off at the dealership. I bring the truck to them because we purchased it from them and I try to always patron where we purchase the vehicle. I get a call from them letting me know about faults, and I told them that there were no faults or lamp warnings when I dropped it off. I brought it in to address a rear right brake light and turn signal being in-op. Both of which I didn't know about until LPD stopped me to let me know it was in-op. Also had a basic service done on it (oil/filter, cabin air filter, checks, tire rotations, etc.) and to address a raspy noise coming from the front. They called while I was out, I called back today and they say it's ready. I asked if they got the faults corrected, and was told yes that it appeared to be corrected with the light repair. I arrive to the dealership and have a nice talk with the service department and cashiers. I go to get in the vehicle, start it up and there are lights on for the abs, traction control, steering, etc. This is the first time I have ever had a vehicle be in worst condition that when I brought it in. I drive it right back into the service department, and they take it in the back, bring it back and say that it's probably the steering control modulator. WTF, why was none of this on the repair order? ( there was little to no notes about any work they did), why did they tell me it was corrected, when it was still an issue? Why was no walk around done on the vehicle when I dropped it off? No notes on the diagnostics line either. In fact, I had to ask them what the issue was with the noise and they said they didn't have the tools to fix it and I would have to take it to Ford. When I brought it back, instead of finding out why the vehicle is throwing faults they give me the steering control modulator reasoning and said I should have Ford look at that as well. I was a service adviser and warranty administrator for BMW for almost a decade and can say that they are really dropping the ball at Kelsey. I have now had to set an appointment with Haag Ford to look at the issue they couldn't fix and to now address all the fault codes and issues that were not there prior to leaving it with them. I was betting that the dealership's owner is not aware of his director of public relation's emails to customers...and then I read the reviews on YELP! I reached out about a specific new vehicle on their lot. The email responses sent back to me contained snide comments, irrelevant information and never answered my question. It's a shame when you're looking at $65 to $75,000 vehicles that the dealership will not answer a question. Over a year ago Steve, the service manager, reached out to me after I completed their survey. I had some issues with the service I had received. He offered a free oil change to make up for the errors that occurred. That showed me two things. They actually read their reviews and are willing to work with their customer to make things right. I can't give them 5 stars, because my service was still not performed perfectly the first time, but I'll give them another try when I need my next oil change. Update: Just over a year later I returned for the free oil change I was told I would receive. Well sure enough it was in my records that the service manager had authorized a free oil change. Scheduled and received the oil change and this time everything was done to my satisfaction. Including resetting the oil life indicator, which is a small thing, but was not done last time. Yes I'm picky, because I do almost all my own maintenance. Except for this vehicle which requires the oil change be done by a dealer to maintain the "lifetime" warranty. If you have a parent and they are elderly you need to read this review, and be cautious. Went in in January of 2023 to look at a truck that I saw on the internet. The truck was in great shape and the price was average. I decided to buy the truck jointly with my mother as I am her Full durable power of attorney, she lives with me, and would need a 4wd if we got alot of snow, they were fine with it and that's where it started going downhill. First off our salesman (Ken) offered to take $500 off the price of the truck and wrote the new price on the deal sheet. When he brought the sheet back in the $500 was back in the price. They gave me a site unseen trade in price of $2000 for my mother's freestar, I was extremely transparent about it and when I got there they changed the amount to $1500 because the battery didn't hold charge and check engine light turned on. Keep in mind they honored my POA for checking credit and allowing the trade in. Also this truck was in really really good condition compared to others I had looked at. Now comes the fun part they had tried to get me to take the truck home that night which I refused, the next day I was told the only way they would honor the POA is if my mother came in and physically signed in front of them (ILLEGAL under IRC title 30-5-9-9) they then tried to blame the denial on Huntington bank which I have the approval letters for both of us and Huntington knows denial of a POA comes with very steep punishment to deter companies from refusing them. They also under the same statute have 10 days to send a letter stating why they refused to honor a fully legal and certified POA, no letter sent and furthermore there are only 3 acceptable reasons to refuse it under Indiana law (principal is deceased, have documentation that it has been rescinded, or timeline is lapsed) none apply. So it was sold to me at a higher interest rate, shorter term, and my mother was not allowed to take any ownership of the vehicle, but remember they accepted the POA for trade in. No matter what their intent was they have a duty under the law to adhere to the law and notify both parties why POA wasn't accepted. They were my only point of contact not Huntington bank (though Huntington bank did tell me they didnt and dont refuse properly executed POAs) so the duty to notify as well as get that POA accepted falls on them. I talked with Walt Kelsey then had 1 round of phone tag then crickets, then emailed Mike Kelsey to get a resolution and crickets. So here we are a year later and they could care less. I have a complaint opened with the Indiana Attorney Generals office and will be sending all of that paperwork in shortly. I tried letting them do the honorable thing and not make it public, but that ship has sailed, possibly an ADA violation as well. read more

Absolute best dealership I've ever done business with. Needed repairs after dodging a deer but hitting a mailbox instead. Like everywhere else, the lead time on parts was LONG (not Kelsey's fault). Service individuals would call me regularly, updating me on wait-time, etc. Eventually, GM Paul Cluxton called me and asked me if I needed an extra car due to how long my car was in shop. I told him it'd really help. He arranged for me to get an Equinox and had it delivered to my house so I didn't have to go get it. Pretty awesome (and refreshing!) customer service. Can't say anything but positive things about my experience with Kelsey Chev. (Also, not sure why my post says I'm from San Francisco. Definitely not from San Fran...I live in Cincinnati.) read more

Well the only close Chevrolet dealer to do work on my truck. I took it in with no issues I just wanted it serviced with 168000 miles on it. They found things and took care of them. Truck was returned to me. A week later I have an oil pan gasket leak. Take it back in and they fixed it??? Really I've heard this about dealership doing this but I saw it first hand. read more

After I had my car serviced by Jeff Wyler Chevrolet for years, I gave the car to my elderly mother. Kelsey Chevrolet is the closest dealer to her house, so I advised her to take her car there when the check engine light came on. At my last service appt at Jeff Wyler, I asked if any Chevy dealer could see their maintenance records and they assured me they could. She also needed an oil change which was the one service she agreed to on drop off, with the thought that after the oil change, they'd run diagnostics to determine why the check engine light was on. Her scheduled appt/drop off time was 3:45pm. She didn't hear back or have her calls returned until the next morning (again, no one called her to say that they were keeping the car overnight). When they called back the next day, they informed her they ran a test on her exhaust, because the diagnostic code indicated a problem with an O2 sensor. No one ever called and told her they were running a $105 test and that's why they needed to keep her vehicle overnight. Thankfully, they waived that charge, though they never admitted it was their fault for not communicating that to her in the first place. They said they found the leak and it was in her gas cap, so that needed to be replaced. Kelsey also tried to convince my mom that the car needed $700 worth of standard maintenance from the 75k and 100k recommended services that were already performed (which they would have known if they looked up previous dealer maintenance records) and told my mom that it looked like these services were never done since the car was manufactured in 2011 (even though we have these specific services documented on invoices from Jeff Wyler). This 100% felt like Kelsey Chevrolet was trying to take advantage of my elderly mother and I'm not OK with it. All said and done, she left with her car nearly 24 hours later paying for an oil change and a new gas cap (just the part) that we have to install ourselves, because Kelsey refused to do that once they "pulled the car out from service"... Mind you they told me I could do it, since it's simply removing the old one and screwing the new one into place. The service tech, Todd, even tried to confront my mother upon pick-up blaming her for THEIR miscommunication. Horrific customer service. We'll never be returning. read more

Beware!!! Don't waste your time and money in their extended warranty or on the wheel and tire additional warranty. Really buying here because you hear lifetime pertain warranty that comes with it is deceiving as well. Here's why 1. Extended warranty & standard lifetime warranty A. You have to get all the work done at Kerry in Lawrenceburg which wouldn't be so bad if the service manager wasn't such a (careless condescending person that doesn't have the mentality of help the customer) but that certainly plays a part. B.Additionally you have to get everything they say is recommended from transmission flush (which is totally understandable) all they way down to a cabin filter. That's right if you don't have them replace the cabin filter when recommended (which has nothing to do with anythingMechanically) for a ridiculous price then warranty voided. It's ridiculous C. When I was slid a 7.9% interest rate at purchase (when I have an over 800 credit score and very favorable DTI ) I just laughed and said no. That I kinda understand..... they are in the business to make money so why offer the rate someone deserves when you can screw em lol. Then they came back with a 3% rate. That's right an additional 4.9% just because. At that point I should have just walked out on the purchase which led to having to deal with their ethically shotty service department and warranties. Whoops , sorry I went off their I'm a tad perturbed. ok back to the review 2. Wheel and tire cosmetic and damage warranty. DONT BUY IT This is a joke so you can only get work done one day through the week, might be month which ok I get it they don't do the work themselves. But here is why don't buy it. They don't honor it that's why...... so I ended up with a huge chunk of sidewall out of my tire and chip in my rim/wheel. When I was getting my oil change I asked if they could look at it for repair. I was told it was cosmetic and not covered. Yeah cosmetic...... a chunk out of the side wall, an area of the tire that tire shops will not and can not repair due to safety reasons. All that needs to be said right. They are exact words were there's always an issue with it not much gets covered Don't buy additional warranties here. Took my car here one time and had great service. The last 2 times were terrible. One time the car was making a terrible knocking sound while driving, they said it needed new suspension, which thankfully was under warranty. However IT TOOK OVER 100 DAYS FROM THE TIME I DROPPED MY CAR OFF TILL I GOT IT BACK. And at no time during that period was I offered a rental, or loaner. If I wouldn't have been fortunate enough to have an extra car to drive I would have been screwed. I ended up getting on Amazon and ordering the part that they "couldn't get" and it showed up in 2 days. (Thanks prime!) went and dropped it off at Chevy to complete, and 2 days later they said it was ready. When I went to pick the car up it was covered in mud. Not just on the side behind the tires, but my side view mirrors were covered too. So someone drove the car very aggressive and threw mud all over. Even after having the car for over 100 days, and joy riding it, they didn't even wash it or anything before I picked it up. Was very displeased, filed a claim with GM; and they followed up. I was assured it was a fluke and that would never ever happen again. I took the car back about 5 months later cause it was making a terrible chirping noise. They called and said it was a valve cover gasket, also covered under warranty, but that the car needed a tune up to run right. They said it needed new spark plugs and a direct injection tune up service. I've worked on my own cars my whole life, I said I didn't want the tune up, A) I had put new spark plugs in myself a week before (NGK iridiums) which after picking my car up it had Denso plugs... so they took my nicer plugs out to put crummy ones in, and B) MY CAR DOESNT HAVE DIRECT INJECTION. They wanted to charge me $250 for a service to tune up something my car doesn't even have. I know because I upgraded the multi point fuel injectors myself to be able to run E85. After my last two experiences I can't even imagine how many unknowing customers and older people they have taken advantage of with bogus services and terrible service. I wish I could give zero stars. My advice is go out of your way to go a different dealership for ALL of ur GM and Chevy needs.... read more

went in there 3 times. second time i asked them to check my breaks. they told me there was nothing wrong. week and a half later i was back in there getting my breaks done. i was told they missed the break inspection and they gave me a credit for a oil change. today i was in there for a 45,000 mile service. before i got the 45,000 service i called and got the manual out and told them what i needed done. chelsey put me on hold to get a price and it was $500. i got a call today that it was going to be $800. that they missed the differential. I told them i talked to chelsey and even told her i needed that as well and $500 was with that. When i told them this they basically said "oh well" this is twice they "missed" something. i will never ever go back to this chevrolet place again. That is bad business. read more

If I could give this a 0 star I would. I bought a used 2009 Ford Taurus off of Kelsey Chev back in 2016. It wasnt a cheap car either, it had low miles, around 66,000 when i purchased it. What was suppose to be a decent car that lasted me awhile, this car has been a nightmare since i got it. Coil issues, brake issues, all within the first couple days. Had to be brought back 3 different times for service to look it over within the first 3 weeks!!! Rental car provided to me by "now fired sales person" was a trashed trade in that looked like someone had lived in it for days before they repo'd the vehicle. "cigar insides, bags of trash, ruined upholstry, ect" I was suprised to be given this car, and that no one had bother to check what was being given to a customer...After all of this, the original problems on the Ford have started to come back, just a year later and i have tried to go back to Kelsey to buy a newer Vehicle and get out of this one. However....I was told at the dealership from Steve Arnold himself that "sometimes they take in lemons, and there is nothing they can do about it, and that I should just stop talking about the previous experience because it doesnt matter. The pass the buck mentality, and "It wasnt me who sold you the car" just reeks of bad business. I am writing this because some people actually do check this review stuff out and I want them to be aware about Kelsey's commitment to their customer base( or lack there of) and lack of integrity to do the right thing.
