I went there to have my headlights defogged. Initially, I went in to get a quote and they were honest about the condition of my headlights and what options they could offer me. They gave me 4 options and worked with me based on how much I wanted to spend. The quote was free and they even took the time to answer other basic auto related questions I had about my car without charging me. I felt bad for using up their time, but also I was extremely grateful that they took the time to help me. They even charged me less than they initially quoted me, because the headlight defogging went faster than expected. I have never ever had this happen to me, truly these guys have the best customer service and genuinely want to make their customers happy. I have been taking my car to Cobb's for the past few years. When my old boss recommended them to me, I was hesitant because they drive far nicer and newer cars than I do. I'm a broke college student with zero knowledge of cars and drive an ancient Prius. I assumed they would either be way out of my price range, treat me differently because of the car I drive, or not work on hybrids. However, Cobb's is excellent for any car, and they treat every customer equally! They are incredibly professional, do fantastic work, are competitively priced, and always explain things without making you feel uncomfortable or silly for asking questions. If you're a woman, you know how rare this is with mechanics! I trust that they will always be honest with me and never try to upsell me, etc. Whenever I need work done, I'm shocked at how reasonable they are and don't bother to get a second opinion or quote anywhere else. Most recently, I had theft issues that required insurance involvement. As far as insurance claims go, it was pretty much seamless. I know it seems silly to rave so much about a mechanic, but I've had so many awful experiences in the past that I am beyond grateful to have found them! I am not in the habit of writing 'gushy' reviews of places. But these guys deserve gushing. They are extremely competent and steadfastly honest. They take pride in making cars work without the easy (and expensive) button of part replacement. They'll provide you great explanations on what they did, why they did it and what would change their mind to escalate the fix, saving me 50-80% more than once compared to what I was resigned to spending. The only down side - they are a 'known secret', so you can't expect walk-in service, but they will stick to the timelines they commit to. read more

I only use yelp to leave negative reviews to things, but i felt like Cobb's deserved this one. They worked with me to schedule my car for a visit so that I wouldn't have to leave the car overnight or over a weekend. They found the issue out with my car very fast and didn't charge a disgusting diagnostic fee that a dealership would. Inadvertently, they fixed my cruise control somehow, by fixing the issue with my tires. Not sure what they did or if they even know that they did, but now it works! read more

Just moved to Cincinnati. Excellent service for both by gas powered Subaru and Tesla. Exceptional service on both vehicles. Tesla estimate of $695 to replace side mirror...repair impossible...Cobbs cost $91 to REPAIR the mirror and included the repair of a flat. Cobb's is exceptional. The opener is on site ! Based purely on physical appearance, Cobb's looks like any other auto service center. There's nothing remarkable about the facilities. What stands Cobb's out among every other care center business I've ever experienced is the excellent service, genuine honesty and extremely fair pricing that they offer. From the minute you first meet Steve at the desk, he puts you at ease with his soft-spoken manner. When I dropped my car off to have the engine serviced and to check the brakes, Steve clearly delineated every step they would take in examining my vehicle. When was the last time that happened at the dealership? They barely even talk to you unless they're trying to upsell you on some unnecessary service. Not the case at Cobb's! Later in the day after dropping off my car, Steve called to provide me with an update. He explained to me that the bumping I noticed when braking from a rapid speed was related to warped rotors. At that point, I expressed a willingness to replace them. Steve recommended against doing this. He said that the brake pads were in good shape and that the rotors presented absolutely no safety concerns. He told me to pump my brakes when I wanted to decelerate and that would alleviate most of the bumping. Steve suggested I get the most out of the existing pads before looking to replace them and the rotors. Can you think of a time when a auto mechanic shop recommend against an expensive service solution that you had already indicated your willingness to undergo? I am sold on Cobb's and will most certainly recommend them to everyone I know! read more

Extremely honest shop. I took my husband's car here for an muffler issue, and they called me about an hour later to tell me it was a problem that they child only fix by replacing both mufflers even though only one needed to be replaced. They said if they did it, it would be around $700 and a waste of a perfectly good part that otherwise didn't need replacing. Steve referred me to a muffler shop in KY that was able to get the job done for $160. Steve even printed a couple of diagrams for me to walk me through the issue so I knew exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done. Saved me $550 and A+++ service. So, this is why I support small business. I called both AutoZone, and Advance. I asked them both if they could bring me a battery because the one I had was too dead to charge. I called AAA and they wont come in my garage, or help me push my car out to jump. So I called my mechanic. Cobbs Car Care. THAT should have been my first call. They sent me help, jumped my car, are taking it to the shop, getting me a battery, and changing my oil. I LOVE Cobbs. They are the best, and have always been so good to us. When I moved nearby I stopped in to the test the waters. Just like picking a spouse, priest or doctor, your mechanic is hopefully someone you pick for a long time. Steve and Glenn both were very welcoming to me and my dog. You could tell they knew their stuff and had been in the business a long time. They wrote me up an estimate for the scheduled tune up I inquired about. The price was fair but when I inquired about brands and parts they were adamant on using original manufacturers parts and why. But would put others on at a request. The job was done later very timely according to their estimate. When I asked about possible other work that might need to be done they will talk me out of somethings and be honest that I have more time for others. Steve, Glenn, and the team at Cobb's are incredibly honest and trustworthy. I recently had an accident in older Lexus. I had dropped full coverage and only carried liability insurance. I was dealing with a decision on how and if to repair. Steve spent hours with me helping me make sense of quotes and thinking through my options. Steve knew there was nothing in it for him. What a great guy. I have been taking cars to Steve for a while. I have introduced friends who now take cars to Cobb's. They always do the right thing and are fair. One friend was told by a dealer that his car needed a new transmission. Cobb's looked at the transmission, found that it was fine, and repaired some linkages for a fraction of the cost. My brother-in-law had his front axle supposedly repaired by a shop in eastern OH. Cobb's looked at it, saw that the axle hadn't been opened or removed, and prepared my brother-in-law to have the right conversation with the original repair shop. Finding a trustworthy and reliable mechanic in a new city is tough. When I first moved to Cincinnati I was fortunate enough to live in close proximity to Cobb's Car Center. I do not know much about cars, and Steve took his time to explain to me what work my car needed and offered me a fair price. If anything came up while they were working on my car they would call me right away to discuss it. Cobb's is so fantastic I've even called them for advice when my car needed work that could not be done at their shop (body work, etc). Steve was quick to offer me some other businesses his clients have worked with and recommended. Cobb's , referred by a coworker who knew Steve, the owner from church. Was hesitant to take my car to an independent shop that didn't tout to specialize in German cars for a difficult to find and Smoky oil leak. Internet gurus all pointed to a well known valve cover /?gasket / oil vacuum pump- issues with this model of car. The shop owner initially gave me the same diagnosis. Was a pricey estimate but about 35-40% cheaper than the dealer ( est $2600 ). At the end of the next day , got a call from the owner: the oil leak was from an unplugged nozzle in back of the engine and that labor from taking everything apart/reinstalling , was all that I owed . About $200. He could have easily completed the job and charged me the estimated repair cost , but he didn't . . Will trust them for future service with this one and other cars I'm sure. Highly recommended ! Missing 1 extra star because of limited hours and open dark parking lot . Wish they had slightly later hours on a few days of the work week. read more

Cobb's is wonderful! I've taken both my Saab 9-5 and 9-3 to Cobbs for years before I got a 2013 Accord. They were incredibly up front and honest (much more so than the dealer). They always got back to me the same day with a diagnostic and I can't think of a time when it took more than a day or two for them to get the car back to me. They always called and kept me updated along the way. They would always explain what they were doing and why and gave great advice. I didn't even have a problem telling them what the dealer had advised and would charge me. In most cases, the dealer was way way overcharging me. I don't need them like I used to but I had no problem referring my mother and other family members to them. read more
