The garlic bread was rock hard, it was burnt and not edible. The messy fish sandwich had no flavour and was a big mess of mush. I'm not sure how it smelt like fish and tasted like nothing. They also didn't listen to instructions and forgot to not add tomatoes. My husband enjoyed hot his wings but they weren't crispy like Kelsey's wing typically are. I went to Kelseys a lot when I lived in Winnipeg. I went to many Bombers game and the restaurant was right across the street from where they used to play. Since returning back to the GTA, I haven't been going as much. I recently started going back. Kelseys has upped its food and drink game. I am a fan of its decent, flavourful food and beverages. My dear friend and I met up to do some shopping. The main reason was that she wanted to give me my birthday gift. We were hungry after working up an appetite exercising our debit cards. She found this Kelseys and drove over there. There is a ton of parking at this restaurant. We parked and walked in. It was around 8 pm when we got there. It wasn't all that busy. We were promptly greeted and seated in a booth. My friend forgot my gift and headed back to her car to fetch it. It was pasta night. I wanted something healthy to eat and went with the Thai chicken curry bowl. Unfortunately, it is not a part of this pasta night special, but I wanted it anyway. I also ordered the honey peach tea lemonade. It's alcoholic and has real peaches at the bottom. It was refreshing and delicious. I highly recommend it. The Thai chicken curry bowl came to me on a plate. You can choose to get beef as your protein, too. I loved the flavours. You taste the coconut milk. You also get bok choi and broccoli, so I got my fair share of greens. The noodles were perfectly done. My friend got the veggie burger with fries. She loved her burger. She got plenty of ketchup to dunk her fries. I opened my gift bag and had a wonderful, memorable time chatting with my friend. It was a cozy place to be on a Wednesday night. This is a good spot for lunch or a quick bite and drink. The service is good and they have great lunch trio specials. You can get a soup salad and garlic bread or a soup salad and half a bbq chicken sandwich. The broccoli cheddar soup is so good. read more

We came back here for a lunch type meal on a rainy saturday. We were later in the afternoon so it was pretty quiet and the manager was out front and opened the door for us and sat us in the bar after offering a choice. We ended up splitting a pound of the sweet chili thai wings and the bbq chicken flatbread instead of opting for a full on lunch since it was later in the afternoon. The flatbread was quite good, my boyfriend really enjoyed it, and not too large for two people to share. The wings were good, nicely coated in breading and the sauce was good but I don't know if I'd get it again. Love me some honey garlic and thsi sauce didnt' really stand up to the wings. I've been here before and the service has been okay at best. I went with my boyfriend last weekend for dinner and it was pretty bad. The restaurant wasn't busy and it took 6 minutes for a waiter to come and take our drink order (I'm a server at a different restaurant, rule if thumb it's supposed to be less than a minute). Our drinks took forever to come (2 pops). One thing I was impressed by was the manager did come by and ask if we needed anything cause our server hasn't been to out table for a while. Maybe it is just me but the food you get in these places are more like fast food then restaurant food. I tried the Amazeball burger and was very disappointed. Two wafer thin patties with some type of crust thing in between and nothing I would call mac and cheese anywhere to be found. I saw it said something like staying away from the middle of the road on there uniform but felt they were smack dab in the middle. This was the first time we had been to this Kelsey's location. We had a gift card and a coupon from the local paper (good for either the Whitby or Oshawa location). A few weeks back we had gone to Oshawa for similar reasons, so we thought we'd check out Whitby this time. I wish we'd NOT chosen to go to the Whitby one.... We arrived just after 7pm (Saturday) and were told there was a 15 minute wait due to a backlog in the kitchen. I don't mind waiting, BUT there were numerous empty tables in the dining room and the bar was only about 1/3 full. Anyway, the wait went by quickly and we were seated in a booth in the bar (roomy and comfortable) with a good view of the TV's. Kelsey's has a lot of tasty looking items, but we decided to order the same items that we had previously really enjoyed in Oshawa. Nachos for Hubby and the Messy Fish Sandwich for me. We didn't wait long for the bartender to take our order. We both ordered tea, but after he dropped them off I noticed my cup was rather dirty inside. I brought it over to the bar to ask for a new one, and all I managed to get out was "Sorry to bother you..." and he quickly laughed and said he'd checked the outside but not the inside. He went into the kitchen right away for a new one. He was very pleasant and helpful. The wait wasn't too long for our food. The first thing I noticed was that hubby's nachos did not look the same; the portion size was smaller and they had given him the wontons instead of corn chips. He was a bit disappointed, but after tasting them decided they were okay and would eat them anyway. Funny thing about this... when the bartender came by to ask how things were, hubby mentioned that he hadn't been asked whether he wanted wontons or corn chips. His responded that they always come with wontons UNLESS you specifically ask for corn chips. We found that pretty odd. Wouldn't most people expect nachos to come with CORN CHIPS? He did offer to change them but we said it was okay. Now on to my fish sandwich. Oh my, was this a huge disappointment! Sadly, we didn't have a camera with us this time but I really wish I could show the difference between this one, and the one I had in Oshawa. It also looked much different than the "two-handed" sandwich pictured in the menu. The size of the fish fillets was much smaller and I was able to press it down and almost flatten it. The bun was also different, and looked and tasted like the Villagio hamburger buns you get at the grocery store. The fish was noticeably undercooked and very mushy, without much flavour at all. The lettuce did not taste very fresh either. Let me be clear, I have NEVER sent food back at a restaurant. It took a good 10 minutes of convincing, before I finally agreed to say something. A new bartender had started and she came by to ask if everything was okay. I told her that actually it was not and that I was rather disappointed with my dinner. She was great about it and offered to bring another one or bring me something else. After looking over the menu again, I decided on a something simple - a quesadilla. The manager delivered the food to our table and was very nice. He explained their menu guarantee and reassured me to never be afraid to return something if I was not happy in his restaurant. I really appreciated that and told him how nice it was of him to come by. Now, the quesadilla... another huge disappointment. While it tasted okay... for $14, I was expecting something a bit more substantial than what arrived. This was the saddest looking quesadilla I'd ever seen. I ate two of the 4 pieces and brought the rest home - primarily so I could take some photos. There was barely any filling inside and the chicken almost looked like it had been shaved it was so thinly sliced. Overall the service was great. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. That is the only reason I am giving this review 2 stars. They really did try to make things right. I am not sure what was going on in that kitchen but it did not seem like a stellar night. The restaurant decor was nice enough. However, one of the seats in our booth had a huge rip in it and the men's washroom only had one stall and the locking mechanism was completely missing (not just broken, but just a hole where the lock should have been). I am not sure how old this location is, but maybe it is starting to show it's age a bit and could use some TLC. I really did not enjoy my dining experience and it's rather unlikely we'll return to this location again. read more

Good menu variety, tv's in bar area, my favourite thing to get is the spinach dip, broccoli cheddar soup and balsamic chicken dish. The staff was fine. Not very personable, caesar salad lacked dressing, balsamic chicken lacked sauce (I had to ask for extra because I was not even having it), dessert lacked Caramel sauce, CLEARLY every course skimped on the sauce. This is my FAVOURITE restaurant but NOT this location, Oshawa location is much better. read more

The broccoli soup and chicken/beet salad were good. The soup was better than the salad as too much dressing made the salad limp and strong tasting. Parking for the disabled could be improved by putting the spots closer to the door and a recessed area in the curb so people using canes and walkers can access the restaurant easier. Putting the parking for the disabled on the other side closer to the walkway area would make it better for your mobility challenged customers. Overall the experience was decent. We don't go there often but my dad wanted to go to kelsey's for his birthday, so we did. The restaurant was basically empty and no one sitting in our area. Our little girls were standing around the table and dancing while we were waiting to order. They weren't bumping into anyone or anything they weren't being loud. If it was busy I would have made sure they would sit down but They were being cute and not at all offensive. The manager (what I'm assuming was the manager) came over and very rudely asked us to 'control' our kids. I get it if there was people in the restaurant or servers walking around but there wasn't any of that going on tonight. There might have been 8 more people on the other side so I didn't get why he had to speak to us like that. On top of that there was no Thai curry bowl that 2 of us had ordered and they decided to let us know 15 mins after everyone had ordered. We all had to eat in our jackets because it was freezing cold in there. Our server was really friendly but that's not enough. The managers at the restaurant are very hospitable and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy their job every time we visit. My husband and I tried their new menu last night and it was AMAZING. The new ribs are delicious and I highly recommend the lettuce wraps. They have really good daily drink deals too. He had the Beer-ita while I had the Snow Kone. Will be even better once the the nice weather is here and we can sit on the patio! read more

Went for dinner here with a friend for the first and last time. Service is slow. Wait staff dressed the same as customers...jeans and t-shirts...and the girls wore skirts that almost revealed what they had for breakfast!!. Decor was worn and chairs ricketty. Ordered small caesar salad [$5] tasteless and spent 10 minutes looking for the dressing. Main meal was the "two-handed steak sandwich" medium well...it came medium rare..meat was tough and bread soggy. Complained to manager who did take the sandwich off the bill. TMy friend ordered the Coconut chicken fingers...was so-so...fries were frozen and limp. Will not return here. read more
