Fantastic date night! I didn't know what to expect as we entered this beautiful vintage theater. I was not disappointed. We were warmly greeted, bought our tickets to the movie (Predator Badlands) and ordered a pizza to be delivered to our seats. Wow! What an experience! My family and I came here to watch wolverine and Deadpool. The theater definitely looks older historically speaking, but not necessarily updated. However, that is not what's important. What's important is the food was really good. I love being able to have a table in front of me at my seats and having them bring pizza and pitcher of beer to us. I don't know how the Kelso Theater Pub can get more than a one star review. My brother and I were visiting my sister and brother in law on Friday. We looked up a place to go for a great dinner. The Kelso Theater Pub had great reviews so we booked a reservation for six pm. The windows to the restaurant were sloppily painted so that should have given us reason to turn around and go to the Red Lobster Restaurant. What a disappointment, the waiter had no personality , he brought water, no ice, he took our orders, he had to look up the special. We ordered two lasagna and two pasta with shrimp. It was horrible! The lasagna couldn't be cut into and the pasta and shrimp was swimming in butter. For anyone wanting to go to a good place for dinner, Stay Away From the Kelso Theater Pub! I was there last night for the annual showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was a blast. This is the first time in decades I have seen this movie at a venue where it was allowed for all the props. Kind feel sorry for the staff as I'm sure they had a mess to clean up. The seating was comfortable, I had slice of some great tasting pizza. They have quite an array to choose from. Staff was over the top friendly and it was a great experience. About a hour before the show they had " the Virgins" get up on stage and do some adult themed stunts. I'm really glad that I decided to check it out. I will be back to see movies there in the future. Main waitress acts like you're a nuisance, like she the Queen of Sheba doing you a big big favor by waiting on you. Told me her life story. Not professional. Menu looks and tastes incredible, but every time we ate there, we became quite sick afterwards, with great abdominal repercussions and discomfort lasting hours. Came here from Vancouver to watch a locally produced movie & give some community support. Kelso isn't Portland & vis-a-vis, so comparing the theater to one in a city with some of the best in the world when so many micro brews are there as well is pretty silly, in my opinion. Keeping this in mind is how I'm approaching this. Judging the seats by their looks would be a mistake. They are the old metal backed chairs with wooden arm rests, however they must have been restuffed as they are comfy & the row I was in leaned back. As far as the arm rests they are extra wide; maybe made out of 1x4's, so the person next to you can use the rest as well. Almost all of the rows had tables in front of them, so you can order pizza, sandwiches or salad to eat while watching. I had the Cowboy which was pulled pork with waffle fries...I mean awful fries. The pork with pineapple was fine, but the fries were limp & rather tasteless. I'm gonna dock 'em for that, because the smallest greasy spoon should be able to make fires not just the brew pubs in Portland...Fries are a staple at a theater pub! They had a selection of soda, beer, water & wine available but I went safe with a Thomas Kemper Root Beer. The diner next door, which I'm assuming is connected in someway as it's called Backstage Cafe looked interesting & the next time I'm in town if I remember I shall give it a try. I really don't know what other options are available to the local Kelso area for anything like this, but it's pretty good. read more

Where else in the Longview/Kelso community can you watch a movie while eating some pizza and drinking some beer or wine? The pizza is pretty good with nice crisp crust. The picture and sound are both great quality. Don't go expecting some high end pizza pub though. The theater is very old, which is party of its charm. If you get a seat that doesn't sag to one side, they are pretty comfy. Some of the rows of seats have been removed and tables added so there's plenty of room for your pizza and beverages. This is the historic theater pub here in town. Everyone should at least come here once as it's an experience! The movie quality and sound is at par with most theaters and the fact you get to eat some pretty decent food and drinks that won't destroy your wallet is great. Parking is best across the street and there is normally plenty of room. Only thing I'd change is maybe clean things up abit, it has a great old town look to it but is kinda getting close to looking run down. read more

Enjoyed a night out with my husband we heard alot about this place so wanted to see for ourselves. The beer was awesome pizza was tasty and prices not bad either. The seating is most disappointing we sat on the upper floor with the couches and it was gross. They need to be replaced or deep cleaned I just felt dirty sitting on them. Kelso Theater Pub is one of my favorite local businesses. I have been there Since last fall to see Rocky Horror Picture show on Halloween, a live music fundraiser for the food banks, and last night to see Date Night, It's a little rough, as it is a very old place, It can't possibly be making enough money to allow for a total refurbish folks. We are a pretty small community and have been in a sort of a recession since the 80's.Kelso Theater Pub is comfortable, fun, has five star staff, and I think it's the only place around here to see a show and have a beer at the same time. The people are super nice, fun to have food and very affordable. But the facility needs some serious TLC. After a movie, my lower back hurts so much from sitting in those horrible chairs. They haven't been maintained, some broken with signs on them - we were laughing at first because we slanted so far backwards, the bolts are so loose. "Sofas" on the balcony: I've seen better for free on Craigslist :/ sorry - not sitting there in fear of bed bugs. Also part of the ceiling clearly fell off and they just painted over it... great potential though with an makeover. read more

Oh gosh, I don't know where to begin about this theater. One thing I can say though is how much I really enjoyed sitting back watching a big screen while having a glass of wine (okay, I had two but you get the point). Not like you can find that anywhere else. They have the table in front of you where you can eat and/or drink. They have best pizza in town, no question about it. The price on foods and drinks are very reasonable unlike other regular theaters where they don't even have tables. Also, I must reckon how grateful I was that they provided open caption so me and my friend got to enjoy the movie tonight. All staff were great, very friendly. If you want to watch a movie at theater where you can chill while eating or drinking with a table in front of you, Kelso Theater Pub is the place for you! On a plus note, if you prefer to sit on a couch watching a movie, go on top balcony, they have some couch you can chill while watching the movie. They call it "pub" for a reason. Best. Theater. I have been to this Theater several time and have always had a nice time. This theater is older and is a lot like the McMinnamins Theaters where you can order pizaa and eat in the theater as you watch the movie. The pizza is excellent...love it! And the price is not bad at all. A nice hometown little theater that is run by locals and I like that. Lets keep the busines in the twon. The coolest new thing there is the 3D movies...the just bought a 3D movie projector...went and say How to Train your Dragon last night for FREEE ( a special they were doing!) and the graphics and movie was very clear and pretty. This place is a great idea, brewpub and a movie all in one, but it falls slightly short of good. Let's start with the pros: The location is a converted theatre from a bygone era so it has an antique atmosphere. They have a fantastic selection of local beers along with some wine options. The food is quite good. I had a pizza and it was very tasty. The price is cheap at $8 (when was the last time you saw an $8 movie?) and they don't gouge you on the food either. The staff was SUPER - both friendly and helpful for a first timer. BUT .... The facilities are less than cleanly. The chairs in the theater are the MOST uncomfortable. They do have a mezzanine with couches but they are old and smelly. In fact, the entire theatre smells moldy and dank. It was hard to enjoy the movie between the smell of the couch and the smell of the theatre - not to mention eating my pizza in that environment. And finally, the movie screen and sound were definitely not what we've come to expect in a movie going experience. The screen is very small and the sound system is less than stellar. I'm glad I went to check it out. I enjoyed my pizza when I held my nose, but neither the cheap ticket nor the food is enough to bring me back or recommend it to anyone else. read more

What could be better than being able to have a beer, watch a movie, enjoy good company AND have food at the same time? I only had the popcorn (which was so-so, I'm a popcorn snob though), but the party with me had the pizza and said it was fantastic. I guess the difference between theaters in a city rather than one in a town like Kelso is the management understands business (in the city - not the town). We were planning on coming down and taking our G Kids to the Grease sing-along but at the last minute - the theater cancelled. Fortunately someone in the area found out and let us know - note this is the 2nd time this has happened - I guess we should learn. I guess the theater saying - "The Show Must Go On" doesn't apply to smallsville USA. Their explanation is - "there are too many other things happening". What - - - all of a sudden are all of these things happening - did anyone ever hear of planning ahead, checking out the paper for festivals, etc. perhaps go to a city council meeting. Someone mentioned there are graduations NO please tell me this isn't happening in June - graduations - will wonders never cease - who would have thought. Ohhhh that is right - this is smallsville - I guess every year people are surprised that kids graduate in June. We are living in times that people choose where to spend their entertainment dollar. Let's hope they realize the REAL theaters in Kelso (think Regal) care about their patrons and don't cancel on a whim? read more

Kelso Theater Pub is always a great place to go and watch a movie, drink wine/beer and have pizza!! The place is very old, but clean. The staff are friendly and accomodating. The pizza is delicious!! The only thing I can say negatively is that one time our pizza was a little too well done, and wasn't sliced through very well. And since you're in the dark watching a movie, without a knife, it's sort of hard to rip or cut yourself... But it's not worth taking a star off, everyone has an off night here or there. read more

To write this review makes me sad. We had my sons 9th birthday party yesterday and everything went great until we received our bill. I bought a Birthday party for 24 people at a fundraiser. We paid over $150.00. I called the owner 3 weeks in advance to inquire and book the party. I asked her what would happen if I needed a party for more then 24 people. She told me its 50$ an hour for 24 more people. At that time I didnt know how many people would be attending. My inquiry should not of made me obligated. She told me she had February 19 at 11:30 to 2:30 avaliable. I told her to book my party for that slot and I would call her back if I needed to make any changes. I never called her back because I didnt need to make changes. A week later I receive a phone call from Dawn saying she was just calling to confirm my party for the 19 of February because I never called her back. I was confused so I told her I thought it was booked. She let me know it was not booked and didn't know if it could be booked. Even though she was calling to confirm and one would think she would have a calendar or appointment book in front of her, she did not and told me she would have to call me later to confirm. We finally had a call back with someone who confirmed the party. Not once during these phone calls was I asked the number of people attending. I kept the party small because I didnt want to pay another $150. 20 people attended. When ordering my pizza I was not asked how many people would be attending. I had no idea until getting my receipt I was being charged an extra $150. We did speak to the owners who were unwilling to remove the charge. My billed amount not including all the alcohol was $268.65. That is also not including the $150 that we had already paid for the party. If the owner cannot afford to donate parties for charity then she needs to not do so. Charging people an extra $150 to try to make up your money is just bull shit. It is a shame that the small town Theater is ripping people off. I will be calling better business bureau tomorrow. read more

The Kelso Theater Pub never misses! They make great pizza, but unless you want to order a slice of what ever is available, call your order in ahead. Or you can go to the little restaurant next door (same owners) for dinner before the flick. After entering, get in line to order your pizza. They give you a number that flashes inconspicuously in the dark so they can find you after the lights go down for the show. They have a pretty good selection of beer and wine, and if you want you can sit in couches or big overstuffed chairs upstairs in the balcony. Sometimes they have comedians and other events. A year or so ago, Rain Wilson did a one-man show (his wife's parents live here) during the holidays. read more

The KT Pub has THE best pizza in town! Yes the theatre is old, but that what makes it great. It's not your typical 20 plex cimema with video games everywhere with some uninterested teenager behind the counter asking you if you if you want to make that small popcorn a super jumbo you can't possibly eat all that by yourself size for only 50 cents more. The theater has character and even has a balcony. Another great thing is they play movies that are not mainstream and seen in every other theater. They also host private parties, wedding receptions and the like. The best part of the Kelso Theater Pub is pizza and beer, or wine if that is your thing. Give this place a try. I went there a week ago, an I heard it was a great place. And it was there food was amazing but my waitress caught me off guard. She was a small blonde haired lady. But she smelled of tabacco and she looked to me like a stripper. I have drove by the Kelsi theatre pub many times and catch her smoking next to the building along with another gentleman. The people that work there are really nice, they make great food and have great variety of drinks, and they play a nice variety of newish and old movies on that big screen.
