I see immense value in the upkeep of these places and I know they bring value to the community. The problem with this place is it just kind of sucked as a "museum". There was really no rhyme or reason to the "artifacts" it was a motley crew of random odds and ends that locals had donated. Even the woman working (although I bet she just volunteered), didn't have a lot of info or insight on the displays. There were some random tea pots, a display with some NASA posters, an old Chinese robe, and some ceramic buildings. According to the plaque outside this spot had been the location for a pretty cool archeological find but I didn't see that very prominently displayed inside. The high point was probably just walking around this old church which had been built in 1901 (I'm pretty sure on the date but could be off). It was really gorgeous for being so tiny. There's a small chapel to the left as you walk in and the right is where the displays are, in what probably served as a hall. The building can be rented out for events. Price of admission is free and donations are accepted. If you're even mildly interested in history and old buildings and you happen to be in the area I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a few minutes (trust me, a few minutes is all you'll need). Just keep your expectations semi-low and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Overall, the museum was pretty neat and informational. I was expecting more exhibits and artifacts,…read morebut the museum is largely video media based. There were a handful of theatres for guests to sit in and experience various historical moments pertaining to space exploration. We only watched "Moon Walkers" narrated by Tom Hanks. Independence Plaza: A quick walk from the Space Center Museum. It is about 3-4 stories high with exhibits inside of it (air conditioned). A lot of the tram tours are a first come first served basis. We didn't go to all the tram stops (complimentary with your ticket), but we did stop at George W.S. Abbey Rocket Park Tour. It was cool to see! Parking: The parking is charged separately on top of the tickets.

Other things you should know about the Space Center: -It's a huge campus, and the museum itself is only a small portion. -My wife went 15 years ago, and it's gotten a LOT better apparently. So if you haven't been in a decade or more, give it another shot. -They don't have much pertaining to the recent Artemis mission. We went as the astronauts were heading around the moon, but we didn't see any current info. -It's great for kids, especially over the age of six or so. -You should book some tours in advance. By the time we got up there, most things were sold out except Rocket Park. -Rocket Park is still cool. The sheer size of the Saturn is incredible. Take the little trolley and say hi to the longhorns. -The Food Lab (the food court) is hit or miss. The salad bar was surprisingly great, and the pizza is abysmal. DO NOT GET THE PIZZA. -You should go in with an open mind, ready to learn. That goes for everything, not just the Space Center. -You know where astronauts hang out? At the space bar. (This joke works better with a drawing of an astronaut passed out on a keyboard.)

I pass by it every week when I head to my teaching internship, and I occasionally get Facebook posts about its events. I visited Three Acres for the first time last Friday. The venue hosted an event honoring teachers and nurses (both received 10% off their orders with their ID badges). Expectations met. The vibe here is that of church picnic, outdoor festival, and family get-together. About five or six food trucks set up shop so deciding what to eat was a good problem to have. I intend to come back when the park hosts its first-ever karaoke night this coming weekend. It's in my Filipino heritage to pick up a mic.

The wellness clinic was offering vet services at a discounted cost, which is absolutely amazing. There were multiple food trucks present, and everything smelled great. They have a concession stand with a pretty good variety of beverages, most had alcohol (just an FYI). I was confused by the website, as I read it that the picnic tables needed to be reserved, but you could bring your own pop-up chair. When we got there the reservations of the picnic tables was not the case. Perhaps that is only for special events? I did see that some of the events had an event fee, so those reservation requirements may only fall on those dates. A lot of picnic tables. A lot of space to put down a picnic blanket or have chairs available. There is a small playground for children, and there were a lot of play toys (balls of all sorts - basketball, soccer, volleyball, etc.). I am not sure if those belong to the site or if people brought their own. There is a little stage where a musician was playing live music. There are highball tables up by the concession stand area. The parking lot of very large, gravel. There was a little plastic pool that was filled up with water and ice for pups. I am not sure if that belongs to the site, but after the dog adoption people left the pool stayed. The only negative was that there is only one women's bathroom at the time that I visited. Luckily it wasn't too busy when I went, but I could imagine that would be a nightmare. All in all - it is a very cute place. They are active on their Facebook site and their website and they have some YouTube clips. Nice concept.

Unfortunately, the experience we expected from this boat tour did not occur…read more Our tour was scheduled to depart at 3:00 PM; however, our captain and tour guide arrived late, which is documented through text messages. In addition, severe weather conditions developed, including heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. Due to these unsafe conditions, we did not feel comfortable proceeding with the tour and communicated our concerns to both crew member Alexia and Captain Jason. Alexia stated that they do not typically operate the barge in weather conditions such as these. She also contacted her manager, Conner, who initially offered us the option to reschedule for a later time or another day. We explained that this was not a reasonable solution, as we were visiting Houston from out of state and would not be able to return at a later date. After spending approximately an hour and a half discussing the situation and expressing our safety concerns, Manager Conner ultimately provided us with a gift card instead of issuing a refund. Throughout these discussions, certain statements regarding a refund were made and later retracted. Because we do not live in Houston and are unlikely to return in the foreseeable future, the gift card holds no value to us. We are respectfully requesting a full refund to the original payment method for a service that we were unable to use due to unsafe weather conditions. We believe this is a fair and reasonable resolution, particularly because rescheduling was not a practical option for out-of-state visitors. Additionally, we have substantial evidence documenting the events that occurred, including communications regarding the delay, the hour and a half spent attempting to resolve the matter during what was intended to be a celebration for a bride-to-be, and evidence showing that staff members viewed and interacted with our social media accounts following this incident in a manner that we believe was inappropriate and concerning. We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to receiving confirmation that a full refund has been issued to the original payment method.
