I paid one year at a time on all of my payments across-the-board Mr. Lynch was done wrong by Walker. Hughes and quit They passed my policies to another agent who never sent me a letter never made a phone call to me about Got a promotion they passed my policies to another agent who I never even talk to for a year I want a very large business myself, so I rely on my agents to keep me informed of things which the last three years has totally stopped not even getting letters for some reason I am with the fourth agent less than nine years And I just got a $400 bill because I had one claim on my general liability insurance. The only claim I had and all my policies over nine years and I guess they want their money back because they just charged me $2400 for the general liability insurance that I had two years ago with them and had over six years, but I've been with another company for six months Send me a bill for $25. I guess they're trying to get their money back that they had to claim. What's the point of having insurance if they're gonna get the money back with unreasonable bills for no reason out of the blue I haven't had them with General liability for over six months now. In my opinion They are less than a one star company now My two policies when they expire I will be with another company for sure So good luck anybody that wants to get a policy with these people they will get their money back if you ever have a claim And I'm finding out over six months after I canceled the policy and went with another company

To rehash, I was provided incorrect information about coverage. Communication was horrible and follow up is horrible. After sharing my frustration over business lost and poor communication, Ashlin provided me with more options to meet my insurance needs. Instead of going on with her agency who had provided bad advice, I cancelled my policy that was useless for what I needed and asked for. At that time Ashlin began calling people she didn't know and asked them to not do business with me. She also unilaterally tried to cancel a second policy. I reached out to IDOI who communicated to me that since Ashlin did not ultimately cancel it she was not cited however, they stated, they advised her that her email was inappropriate and should not have been sent. She reportedly tried to say to them it was a "suggestion" but they felt it presented as though she was unilaterally cancelling it. She then slandered me here and on multiple other sites. She also called an insurer to tell them I was not being transparent with my intentions for my home, a false claim she's made over a dozen times. Not just was I advised incorrectly but when I did not agree to continue my business relationship with her, contacted IDOI and initiated a withdraw as a result, she began reaching out to unknown (to her) third parties and making false accusations and responding to accurate reviews with false comments that have negatively impacted me . Highly unprofessional, immature and caddy, in my opinion. Again, thank you for removing some of the most egregious and malicious comments - I am glad you realized your lie. I should not have to come on here and defend my character because you're choosing to defend your business with lies and defamation.....had you have just said sorry, like I asked, I would not have felt the need to write a review of the terrible experience. It's not the mistakes you made, it's how you handled them.

Ultimately the Indiana Department of Insurance and the Indiana Attorney General were able to rectify things for me. Erie's 'agent autonomous' model makes it incredibly difficult to rectify simple errors that have large scale implications to policy holders. The once clearly advantageous broker model has now been tainted with high agent commissions for pushing Erie products. This is why the rates are so low.

My mother has been with Ed Southard for 30+ years (probably 40+ years). I'm with State Farm as a result of her relationship with Ed Southard. In all those years, she had one single claim because State Farm was/is so good at making you feel bad about filing claims. Recently, a tree fell on my mothers roof and now that I'm responsible for her financially, I filed a claim. Her shingles are discontinued but due to a prior roof repair (because mom was guilted against filing a claim, just as State Farm tried to guilt me against filing this claim) she will now have a significant mis-matched roof. Pay attention to where State Farm spends their money... GREAT at spending marketing dollars, but horrible at taking care of their customers. On the phone with the agent assigned to the claim, she constantly spoke over me, was extremely passive aggressive including raising her voice to say "and don't you try to tell me there was wind damage or hail damage, i check that roof and it was FINE!". She even drove out to my mom's house and couldn't find it (because Google maps was wrong) and instead of asking for help, called me and said "I thought your contractor would come over and find me to take me to the house, but since they didn't I'm leaving." (which is documented in a voicemail) I called Ed Southard hoping they would ADVOCATE for a 40-year client and call the claims department asking for leniency, nope, "the policy is the policy, we can't do anything about it." What happened to customer service and just doing what is right... Dropping State Farm like a fly once this claim clears, both for my Mom and the 7-policies I hold individually. Finding someone LOCAL who actually cares about customers vs. the bottom line...

They said no, so we fought it and was finally given a check, after having to use our own money to prevent mold because they denied us so long. Now, after them treating us badly and having to pay a small claim (after 20 years) They CANCELLED our homeowner insurance without a phone call, email or anything. We found out from our loan officer! This place is not your friend. There are better people to handle your insurance needs because this guy does not help you or even stand up for you when you actually need it. Then, I asked the call center to have them call us to confirm that autopayments for our car insurance were stopped because the local office apparently has to do that. Again, no call.
