The process of buying a car with the Kendall team yesterday was the best car buying experience I've ever had. Specifically I worked with Lonisa, Tim, Cody and was introduced to Richard. I so appreciate how friendly and knowledgeable everyone was! I was surprised that the deal doesn't end after everything is signed at the dealership and they have a team member specifically there to help educate and show off all the cool things of the new car. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I came to accompany my friend in finding her new car. I convinced her to get a subie and we came in knowing exactly what she wanted to check out, the only thing is that she wanted a sedan Impreza but they only had hatchbacks. Initially she was interested in a 2019, but later decided on a 2020 when we got there. We asked our salesperson if there was a way she could get the sedan in black, he told us he "couldn't search until we knew exactly what we want and are serious about buying, and ready to buy RIGHT on the spot" (he put emphasis on right then and there, and we knew exactly what we wanted, he was just too lazy to look). After we test drove the black hatchback we asked if it was available with a black interior, he gave us the same answer, that he "couldn't" look until we were ready to buy on the spot or some bull crap. Then I asked him if we could get a discount for being members at an establishment, I knew this was a thing because my sister used the same discount when she bought her brand new Subaru years ago. He seemed hesitant to answer me, and gave some vague answer along the lines of "I would need to check I'm not entirely sure I know that discount exists", but he was not going to check. Basically this guy was lazy to do his job and to look anything up for us at all. I then had to ask him to check which he finally did. Since my friend was interested in a 2020 model, I didn't think she would need to compromise on the model and color of the car, with it being November 2019, I'd assume a normal salesperson would go above and beyond to make sure they would find us the exact color and style since it is a new model and it should exist somewhere. Also, in the middle of helping us he started to help another couple. He basically didn't want to look up anything for us at all, didn't know anything about the car (he was googling things when we asked about certain functions/buttons while we were driving). He kept making excuses on how it's "not possible to look up this and that until we are ready to buy on the spot" but in reality he was lazy. People can't commit to buying a car if you can't locate that car for them to see in person, and for buying the latest model, there shouldn't be any compromise in style/color. His excuse is a joke because I was in the backseat during the test drive looking for the inventory at other stores and was able to find the one she wanted. I have nothing against Subaru's, I love them and drive one myself, but I'm really disappointed by the lack of professionalism at this establishment, or at least by our salesperson. I actually don't even think professionalism was what they were lacking, because this guy didn't seem to be able to perform the bare essential tasks of his job. Luckily these cars "sell themselves" in the PNW because this salesperson we had wouldn't be able to sell one on his own. Since then I have been looking for a Subaru for myself up in Portland, the salesperson I've dealt with in Portland was able to talk pricing with me, look at inventory and color of current and future cars they will be receiving, and even reserve a specific car for me that is in transit without any paperwork. This dealership is a joke, people are lazy and unprofessional. Thank you for profiling my friend and I because we look young, we will not be returning and will be purchasing our vehicles elsewhere. read more

Originally this was a two-star review - see below for all the details. It took about a month but Subaru America came through- see contact info below - and notified the dealership what they should have known all along, that maintenance agreements have a grace period. Subaru America also offered to reimburse me for getting the services done, should I pay, but it was not needed, as Kendall came through on that and have carried out the 24k service and agreed to the 30k in due course. One grouse: getting call backs from Kendall was near-impossible, even for their national office. Oriiginal review: I leased an Outback here in 2016 and bought out the lease when it ended in 2019. I also bought a maintenance agreement - oil changes and inspections - but because my mileage is low only used four of the 'express' services. When I bought the car in 2019 I was told by the service writer that the maintenance agreement would last until May 2020 - I made note of that to remind myself to book the car in for the 30k service before that date (it's at 26k currently - Jan 2020) but when I called I was dusted off and told the agreement ended in 2019. Frankly, $1,295 for four oil changes and tire rotations is too much. They even charged me for air filters and $55 for wiper blades. I like the car but feel ripped off by people who misled me. Update, five days later: the dealership owner responded to my Yelp and service manager Kara Beachem has offered an oil change and brake flush (which she says is all the 30k service offers) but no fluids for the diffs. I also communicated with Subaru America who today (2/5/20) tell me they have allowed retailers to accept and claim services for a year after the agreement expires. This was my original info in 2019 that the service team and finance office later denied. My trust in Kendall is undermined. If I have questions again, I'm checking with Subaru of America first. They have a Customer Advocacy Dept at 800 782 2783. It wouldn't seem like rocket science for a service department to know what the national company allows or does not. I expect my next wrangle will be over what the 30k service involves - what's in the maintenance schedule is more than a simple oil change... read more

Every service has had some issue at the end that wasn't dealt with or wasn't noticed till I pointed it out. A few services ago, the service department let me drive off with a dead battery. We had to jump the battery there, at the dealership. They didn't check it or the alternator to see if there was an issue with my 2015 WRX, which would have been covered under warranty. They did no checks to see if it was the car or my sound system from Kingpin. (It's not the Kingpin sound system). I drove off thinking it was an anomaly and wouldn't happen again. Nope. The next day the car barely started and I ran my own diagnostics to determine the alternator was fine and the battery was bad. A battery shop confirmed the battery was bad. I replaced it with a new battery that has significantly higher cold cranking amps. Most recently, I've been having a squeaky driver seat. No, it's not the leather, which is what they've constantly told me it was. Wilsonville Subaru confirmed there was something wrong but their repair attempt was to replace a washer or something... The thing still makes noise every time I go over a bump or my body moves in the seat. Hopefully ordering an entire seat back will fix this... Only took 10,000 miles of complaining and waiting for this to begin to be taken care of. Oh, and they put the wrong tires on my car. If you've ever driven a car with summer tires and then all-season tires, you'll feel the difference. They were suppose to put Pilot SuperSport (summer tires) on my WRX but put Sport (all-season) on. Side walls roll. Steering feels like I'm driving a boat. Doesn't stop as well. Slides in corners. The proper tires have been ordered. But it is a pain to drive down from Salem for higher prices than I could have gotten at Costco. They told me it's just an incovenience. That's like telling someone to calm down when they are furious with you. Their prices are competitive with other dealerships but significantly more than a performance shop. I hate Subaru. read more

UPDATE 05/06/21 Steve reached out to us this morning, and all repairs will be honored by Subaru! A Manager spoke w/Subaru, and now the 2018 Forester will have a New Motor. We want to thank Steve and Subaru Management for their efforts in restoring our car! As Steve mentioned, it would be a Great Idea to buy a gallon of Subaru Rad fluid, and NEVER use any other fluids in our Subaru again!! Previous Post:: Kendall Subaru of Eugene Service Department will NOT Honor $2200.00 Extended Service Contract/Agreement for Motor Damage! Maria and I feel the service department is trying to take advantage of 2 senior citizens, one with difficulty understanding the English language, and I - a service-connected Disabled US Army Veteran with a 4 wheel walker! And force us to buy a new motor for the car!! What can we do next to stop the discrimination and fraud against us? We have been working with Steve @Kendall Subaru of Eugene for over a week now. We have a 2018 Subaru Forester. Before leaving on a 3 hour trip from Springfield Oregon to Hood River Oregon, the fluids are always checked. The coolant was a little low, so it was topped off, very little of the new coolant was needed. The car was driven for about 3 days, then a flashing light came on, and then went off. Maria pulled the car over to try and read the display warning, but it went off. Maria waited a few minutes, and her 2018 Subaru Forester restarted fine. No warning lights. About 20 minutes later, a warning light came back on, went off, back on, etc. for a short time. She pulled over, turned off the car a 2nd time, and then a blue light flashed, then tons of steam came out from under the hood. It was dead. It was towed back to our home, Springfield Oregon from Troutdale - Oregon. We contacted Kendall Subaru for a service appointment. Almost 2 weeks later, it was towed for our service department appointment on Thursday 04/22/21. When Maria tried to make the appointment the lady on the phone said her car was out of warranty. Maria tried to tell her she had purchased an Extended Service Contract for $2200.00 on her brand new 2018 Subaru Forester. The service lady said there is no record of any such purchase on her computer. We went ahead and made the appointment. Maria called back again (Friday 04/23/21 and told them she has the original papers showing proof. "She said it's not in the computer"- again. I (David an English-speaking person) called back and asked to speak with any manager. I was directed to a female voice, explained what was going on. She looked up her VIN number and found it did indeed have the ESC contract on file. She could not explain why the service employee could not find it with the VIN number on her screen. After the service department had the car over the weekend, Steve called Maria Monday afternoon 04/26/21, (She has a problem with English-and gave the phone to me David) Steve said it appears the radiator has/had a clog, it caused the thermostat to malfunction, and the head gasket to blow according to his service technician. That was Monday 04/26/21. Steve informed us it may have to go to the main Subaru Warranty Center for approval, and he would call us back. Today is Friday 04/30/21. He asked if any Non-Subaru fluids were added to the system. We told him yes, Maria topped off the coolant level prior to leaving town. He told us if it was not the Subaru Blue Fluid, it will have voided her service contract. Steve also informed us the lower portion of the motor has no compression, and thus it now requires a completely new motor! Steve asked what brand of coolant Maria added, and it was a blue full-size bottle of Peak Anti-freeze. Steve said using non-Subaru fluids will void the service contract. He never mentioned any communications with "Higher-ups" Headquarters about getting approval, only his office manager can make that decision now. Steve said he will talk to his manager this late Friday afternoon or Monday morning, and call us back on Monday. This is all crap in my opinion! First, a Spanish-speaking lady tries to make an appointment to get her car worked on, and is told even with it under 30K miles there is no warranty. Then I have to get on the phone and investigate the ESC contract with the Kendall Manager to settle the matter. I told Steve Maria can't speak or understand English very well, I was there to help to get things arranged to be serviced. I told Steve I'm a disabled Veteran, I had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago, if I could go sit down I was out of breath he pointed to the waiting area. Steve later came to us and asked Maria and me what had happened to the vehicle. She explained about the trip, the car failure, and the tow to our home. He told us he checked the computer, the vehicle is under 30K miles the Major Train warranty, and the ESC contract was in force. He also asked how much "Stop Leak" was added to the vehicle? Maria said it has never had a leak, and no "Stop Leak" was ever added. read more

Absolutely the slowest service ever. I scheduled an appointment to have my Subaru serviced because there was a recall and drove over an hour because it was our closest dealer. I was told that it would only take half an hour and that I didn't need the shuttle service. Needless to say I sat in the lobby for over two hours. I should have written this review a long time ago. I bought a new Impreza here last August and was tremendously happy with the experience. Like I presume most people, I hate the car buying experience. I hate that I have to buy through a dealer instead of directly from the manufacturer, I hate that negotiation is expected (you should almost never pay sticker price for a car), and I hate the complexity of the transaction (registration, insurance, warranty disclaimers, financing, and so on). To avoid the hassle, I took a different approach. I solicited competitive bids via email for the specific model, trim, and color that I wanted from about 10 dealers -- I don't remember the exact number now, but basically all of them within 150 miles of Portland (except Lithia, don't do business with Lithia). Some of them quoted me MSRP and some of them didn't want to do things my way, but a few actually bid. This dealer was one of two that were within a couple hundred dollars of each other. I won't disclose the exact discount that I got, but I will say that everyone I've talked to, including industry people, have said that I got a *very* good deal. After I accepted this dealer's bid I had someone drive me down from Portland. We were in and out of Kendall Subaru in about an hour. The sales person was friendly, straightforward, and didn't try to renegotiate his bid. I got *exactly* the price the he said I would get via email. The reason I dock them one star is that they put me through the extended warranty sales pitch. Annoying. Add up the total cost of the warranty, notice that the time and items it covers overlap the manufacturer's warranty, and look at what you're paying "just in case" something fails vs. what those services would cost out of pocket. Extended warranties sold by dealers on new cars are never a good deal. read more

We love our Forester and used Costco's auto program to buy it (highly recommended), but the service quality of Kendall Subaru is sketchy AF. The 30K mileage service was fine. What was NOT fine was the frantic "your car is dangerous to drive" phone call my wife received along with high pressure sales tactic to convince her that balancing and rotating her tires should cost $790 plus $110 for correcting the alignment. We told them no, of course, and got the same services for $139 at B&G automotive (great local mechanic.) My wife is a Hospice RN who works out of her car providing a necessary and courageous service to our community and she doesn't deserve to be treated like an idiot and frightened into spending $700 more than was necessary for the most basic of repairs. Needless to say, we will not be relying on Kendall Subaru for future service. read more

We were in a rush and it had just come in so there was no time for it to be detailed they told us they would give us a $500 credit or we could bring it in to get detailed later. Neither happened. Within a week something happened with the car and it wouldn't start. They replaced the battery and told us they wouldn't charge us for it. We bought an additional warranty on it so it would take it to 150,000 miles. That was our understanding. When we got the battery changed out they told us it was also a oil leak that we needed to bring them in to fix. When We were in a rush and it had just come in so there was no time for it to be detailed they told us they would give us a $500 credit or we could bring it in to get detailed later. Neither happened. Within a week something happened with the car and it wouldn't start. They replaced the battery and told us they wouldn't charge us for it even though that wouldn't be covered under the warranty.. ( We bought an additional warranty upon purchase on it.)When we got the battery changed out they told us it was also a oil leak that we needed to bring it in to fix. We can a year of having a car it started having problems starting. Sometimes it would take over 20 attempts to start. We brought it in and they couldn't duplicate the problem even with the codes all still flashing and we had to pay a diagnostic fee. We were told we could bring it back if it happened again and we wouldn't have to pay the diagnostic fee. We brought it in several times for this where the code cannot be duplicated according to them and they finally fixed something with it that was covered by warranty. In order to get to the piece they had to remove the dashboard and took everything out literally throwing it all over the back of my car. The car continues to have the same problem. Initially they told us to keep bringing it in. Several times it was left there for weeks on end where they said they could not find anything wrong with it and returned it now the car has started dying while it is running in the middle of the street. Even though it is still under warranty, they tell us there's nothing they can do for us and that they can't keep trying to fix it when nothings wrong. They said that anything they could do we would have to pay out of pocket since warranty won't cover for them to start randomly replacing things to see if it fixes the problem. They also now say that it was sold as used, not as certified pre owned. For the last month they have ignored phone calls and emails. At one point somebody told me they would call me back within the hour and never called back. They have now suggested the best thing we can do is trade it in, but are offering us 9,000.... so apparently our car has depreciated over $9000 in one year. So now we're left with an unreliable car that they will not even look at or try to diagnose. Buyer beware read more

Ok, I'm revising this review after further experiences. Initially I rated them not so hot. Not that anything was wrong with my buying experience, more that it was typical of a car buying experience, and as I'm sure we all know the typical process of buying a car pretty much sucks. Overall in terms of buying they were just average. My salesman was not as social as I would have liked, but he was fine. The car I was interested in just arrived on the lot so they weren't in a hurry to come down on price. Had to deal with the typical 'four square' paper and trying to sell me on payments rather than price. I also felt their pitches for add ons (extended warranties, glass etching, etc) were a little too high pressure and done in a nonstop overwhelm you with information telemarketer type of pitch. I left, thinking I probably paid too much for the car but I was happy with it. Then 5 days later I got a call saying I needed to put more money down to get financing. I did some research and saw this was a typical scheme where they hook you into liking the car before trying to extort more cash or change your interest rate. I was ticked. But since financing was going through my bank I called them and found out, indeed, I did actually need to put more money down. But I wasn't really wanting to part with more cash, so I went in to return the car. Of course, when I did this they basically ate the extra down payment and I ended up buying the car for $1200 less than when I'd left 5 days before. While this means I definitely overpaid at first, well, I can't really complain at this point. Fast forward a few days... A nice sunny day here in Eugene, and I pop open that nice panoramic moonroof to enjoy the day. When I get back home, it won't close. Keep in mind I've had the car for a week, it's 6 years old and I purchased it as-is. Some searching leads to info that this is a relatively common problem, and the repairs run around $1500. Ah crap. I find the manual crank to close it, but can't get it closed that way either. I resort to trash bags and duct tape. When I went back in, my service appointment took forever unfortunately and I was told I'd be out $89 to diagnose the problem and find out how much it would cost to fix. During this time the sales manager comes by and tells me not to worry, they'll take care of it. I'm hopeful, but his word isn't exactly final. Eventually I get the word back. Yep, pretty much everything related to the moonroof has to be replaced, and they were unable to get it closed either. It would cost about $1400 to replace. However, since I just bought it they're not charging me for the diagnostics and they're going to talk to the GM about what they can do. I head home, trash bag still attached. An hour later the phone rings. The service manager tells me he spoke to the GM, and they're going to take care of the repairs. He also had me bring it back in so they could store it inside to make sure there was no water damage. In the meantime, they've hooked me up with a 2010 Outback to drive until my car is repaired. Overall I'm really happy with the way they take care of their customers. When you purchase a used car out of warranty, generally it's buyer beware. When something expensive breaks, I'd consider a best case scenario is that the dealer may cover half the cost if it happens within 30 days of purchasing. Not only did Kendall volunteer to cover the entire cost without me even having to ask, they also gave me a car to drive to protect my car from water damage. Can't ask for more than that. read more

Who knew I would be reviewing an auto dealership? Who knew the whole whirlwind experience would be such a breeze? Not me, looking back over the last 48 hours. My nearly 10 year old Subaru was beginning to show signs of her age. My mechanic told me some expensive repairs were in the near future, and I decided to check out prices on slightly newer, used vehicles before deciding if I wanted to shell out $$ for the work that was needed. When I was ready to visit some local dealers, Kendall Subaru was my first choice. What is great about the Kendall family is that their used inventory is shared among the different dealerships, but prospective buyers are able to check and compare any vehicle listed. I worked with salesman Shawn Campbell and finance/paperwork wizard Austin. Both young men were extremely nice, honest, friendly, and not the least bit pushy or aggressive. No heavy sales pitch, no pressure. When I asked about a car I found that was listed in their online used inventory, one I found at an amazing price that seemed too good to be true, I was shown the vehicle that had just arrived from another lot. It turned out to be a simple model, but at a price and low mileage that couldn't be beat. They honored the low price I had printed from the internet, accepted my trade in (sight unseen! and gave me an impressive price for it even after I disclosed it would need transmission work in the near future), allowed me to drop off my old car and down payment the following day, worked with me to secure affordable payments, and went above and beyond, in my mind, with their customer service. At the end of the evening, I was signing papers and driving away in my new (slightly used, great condition) Forester. I still can't believe that on the first day I stopped by to look at cars, I ended up driving away in one. My mother had accompanied me through most of the process, and remarked how easy an experience it had been, and how she would buy her next car through Kendall Subaru. For the record, after purchase, I received an email asking me to share my experiences on GooglePlaces, Dealer Review or Edmunds. No solicitation for reviews on Yelp, hence my reason for reviewing today. read more

The Service Department is a nightmare! Bought a used car and within first month it was in shop more than my driveway. 3 separate trips for same issue, two of those trips were because someone ordered wrong parts. That cars engine blew up within first month, the GM did reimburse me for car but the nightmare continued. I was using a loaner car for the weekend so I could shop for new car. I decided to go to Portland Subaru instead of dealing with local dealership. I took a bus to Portland for the day to make the purchase. The bus station was a mile away from dealership, but I left before they opened. I made the mistake of calling service department and telling them my situation. Thinking if they needed the loaner back and had a spare key, they could grab the car. I said I would be back in town by 6 that night and return the car the morning if they didn't need it. I told the kid I spoke to in service to call me back if there were any questions. No call. I get back in town with shiny new car and see loaner is gone. Go to dealership and there it is. Ok. So I return the keys and nobody says anything. Three days later I get a phone call from a very rude lady who wants to inform me they are gonna charge me for towing fee and a full tank of gas (at $8 a gallon) and.,,, and Gas for a loaner car I used a week before in which the service advisor told me not to worry about it. I tried explaining to this woman that I didn't abandon the car, I told the kid I would be back late afternoon and return car the next day. Even Asked the kid if they had a spare! She said I "just left to the car unattended!" She was extremely rude and basically told me I was a liar! What the hell do we ALL do everyday when we go to work?? Cars are unattended in parking lots all the time. I wasn't planning on leaving it overnight. Would have picked it up by 6. Tried calling GM, left several messages. No returned call!! It's really sad when the Portland Subaru tells me they have more and more people coming from Eugene because they refuse to do business with Kendall Subaru !!! I remember when customer service meant something. So they charged $280.00 on my credit card without my authorization and refused to let me explain my side of things. Now Kendall Subaru responded with blatant lies! Unbelievable! How do you remain in business treating customers like this? I've bought several vehicles from several dealerships in the community such as BMW, Mercedes Benz and other Large dealerships. Never have I been treated so poorly and now being lied to. The tank was not on empty, not even close! When I picked up the loaner car it did not have a full tank of gas! Who advised you the vehicle was going to be impounded? Give me a name, please. Who attempted to contact me on "several occasions?" You are living in your own little salesman world where you treat good customers like dirt. I don't appreciate being lied to. Another question, why did you charge me now for a PREVIOUS loaner car gas fill up? If that's policy, why didn't I get charged previously? Worst vehicle experience ever! read more

This post is for Kendall Subaru, as well as Subaru USA. My wife and I purchased a brand new 2015 Forrester XT from Kendall just over one year ago. Approximately 6 months ago, we began experiencing Bluetooth connectivity problems via the stereo; calls constantly dropped and music streaming would disconnect. The service department did replace the unit 3 times, but the problem continued. We were frequently told, " iPhones sometimes have these problems", "Our phones work fine.", "Sometimes certain apps affect the Bluetooth." When I explained both phones work perfectly well in my car and this appears to be a Subaru issue, our feedback was consistently discounted. The second problem we had was an idle issue. For the past month and a half, the idle on the car had been dropping (as confirmed by the tachometer), so upon taking off from a stop, or a red light, the vehicle would hesitate and stumble on acceleration. In addition, the low idle caused all of the exterior lights to flicker. We were told that there was nothing to be done with the idle, even after it was acknowledged the lights were flickering as a result of the low idle. In an attempt to obtain another perspective, we took the vehicle to Subaru of Corvallis for the above issues; unfortunately they were not able to resolve either issue. Throughout our process, we were in contact with Subaru USA. On two different occasions we were told we would be contacted within a certain time period by a representative from Subaru USA to speak with us about our issues. The first response was late and the second call did not occur. It is unfortunate that we have had such a poor experience with Kendall Subaru and Subaru USA. We really did like our vehicle, but due to poor customer service we decided to cut our losses and purchase a different vehicle. read more

I never write reviews but I downloaded the yelp app on my slow satellite internet just to write this one. Let me do you a favor and give it to you straight, don't go here. I have given them 3 opportunities and they've blown them all. I went in to buy a new car and they just didn't make an impact at all. After they told us they wouldn't lift the car more than 1 inch we drove two and a half hours to Wilsonville Subaru where I got a sick brand new outback with a highly enjoyable experience. Strike 1. A wheel barring was going out and we took it to Kendall Subaru and they told us they wouldn't work on it with the lift, strike 2. Wilsonville fixes the issue under warranty with no questions asked. We were upside down on a different vehicle and they had a decent used forester so we went and test drove it with Tim Faulkner. When we went to talk about trade ins they told us we were just s.o.l without thousands down to get out of the negative equity and they just treated us like we were a huge steaming pile of poo who walked in there doors, strike 3. We went to Wilsonville Subaru and not only did they get us out of our current loan, they got us into a 2019 outback with a lift and tires. The sales guy, Flo, was amazing to work with, knew his stuff inside and out, and I'd give him personally 6 stars if I could, he was so enjoyable to work with, Wilsonville Subaru might be my second review ever. read more

I had an unexpected maintenance issue come up on my way from portland to Eugene. I took my car into Subaru and they said my car was not driveable so they gave me a rental. That service was great. Three days later I had to reach out to them to check on the status of my car. They said suddenly the code that was pulling had disappeared which is something that "has never happened before" and my car should be fine. The next day they called me and told me all things checked out, everything was fine, all levels and functions normal. Cut to a week later and the same service engine light came on and I had to take my car into the Vancouver dealership. The exact same code that had pulled in Eugene pulled again. Once again I had to get into a rental vehicle and the repair ended up being fairly major and something that would have cost me $1500 had it not just barely happened before my warranty expired. I'd hate to think sending me on my was was a ploy to get me to pass the warranty and have to pay out of pocket, but I'm not sure how you tell a customer that everything checks out fine and then the exact same thing happens and another dealership is able to solve the problem. It would seem that they didn't even really bother to look inside the car or the engine to really make sure. I truly wish my hometown Subaru dealership could go to school at Kendall. We were on our second day of a 6,000 mile 3 week roadtrip when our beloved 2001 Legacy GT Wagon had a problem. Without an appointment we showed up on Monday morning at Kendall's service department door at 7:30 AM. We were greeted with a smile and a can do attitude. Within in an hour they had diagnosed a clogged radiator. They shuttled us to our hotel while they sourced a new radiator. By 1:30PM the shuttle was back at our door to pick up me, my wife, dog and all our stuff. We were back on the road by 2:30PM and happily completed our trip. Through out it all they were very communicative and understanding. read more

We bought our Subaru from a different dealer, but have been taking it to Kendall Subaru service department. Each of the three times we've been we've been pleased by the service. The team in the service department is efficient and helpful. Once there was a mix up about the shuttle bus and they had an employee drive me home post haste - and then collect me again when my car was ready. The waiting room has decent coffee and it's OK for me to wait with my dog. At times I've called with questions and while the prices on things may be higher than I'd wish for, I've always felt that the service team answered my questions knowledgeably and in a pleasant way. read more

I'm from out of state and as we we're driving home (washington state) when our Subaru started making a noise on the drivers side axil and causing vibration. We thought we'd be fine all the way back but it just kept getting worse. I looked for the nearest Subaru dealership, which we were still 35 miles out. I called them up an explained our situation, they said they were booked full for the day but said to come on by and they'll try to fit us in. When we finally made it in after 33 nervous miles on i5 and they were ready and waiting for us, even the mechanic was waiting for us(!), we were even able to being our dog in and they started taking a look right away. Everyone was so courteous and trying to do what they could even though they were booked for the whole day. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be and an hour later, we were prepared to be there for at least 4 hours, but the fact that they squeezed us in immediately really says something. read more

I will say that the service department employees were very helpful when asking for a refund, and the sales person upfront to get us started with the diagnostic was very friendly. Took my bf's '08 Subaru Impreza in to get it looked at because of some sort of electrical issue where the car turns off while it's fully on. Got the diagnostic done, with a list of ten million things that will go out in the future with nothing else to go off of besides "your battery is worryingly low." The battery was purchased less than a year ago, but we trusted them and got it looked at, the battery was completely fine. Then, a couple days ago the same thing happened, he stepped out for a second, and the car shut off, locking the keys in car. Called a locksmith, who also happened to be a mechanic, and he instantly diagnosed what was wrong. This was a fairly obvious fix that should've been noticed when doing the electrical diagnostic. It's just disappointing that a specialist in your car couldn't even figure out what was wrong, and then came up with a cop out answer, and try to get you to spend $200+ on a battery at the dealership. Money hungry. After this, I will never go back. read more

I am always hesitant to bring my car to dealerships because they are way more expensive and always try to up-sell the customer. Where they were able to fix a jammed latch on the hatchback, I also had them take a look at my rear brake pads because they were squeaking. They were at 3 millimeters, so it was time to replace. I was charged a pretty good deal of money to have them replace the rear pads and add new brake fluid, altogether costing more than $400. My car's rear brakes still squeak like before, so I'm really not sure what they actually did, and it was not worth the price tag. I received a survey phone call from them a few days later and told them the same thing. They gave me a few placating words, but haven't heard anything from them since. I'm going to bring my car into a mechanic who's not affiliated with the dealership in the future. read more

Absolutely worst service possible. I scheduled a windshield replacement and 30k service. When my car was returned huge gaps were along the bottom seam of the windshield. The oil was terribly over filled, and all associated fittings were loose. Take your car to someone that actually cares. I purchased my car here, five years ago, from a salesman who told me that even I (as a woman) wouldn't have any trouble putting the back seats down. If I hadn't needed the car that day, I would've turned around and bought it somewhere else. Knowing that this particular salesman was no longer working there... I decided to give Kendall Subaru another shot- to do a simple seasonal tire change over. I called ahead to make an appointment but, the person on the phone told me I didn't need an appointment. When I showed up- I was told that I needed an appointment but they could try to squeeze me in (eye roll.) They tried to sell me an extra set of wheels for my studded tires, I agreed. Only to find out an hour later that the wheels they had tried to sell me didn't fit my car... Then (another hour later) I was told that three of my lug studs broke and I would need to pay $150 to have them replaced (I should've asked to see them, because I'm starting to think this was just to pay for the labor spent on their own mistake with the wheel fiasco.) Finally, another hour later... my tires were changed. Long story short- I sat there for over 3 hours and paid three times what I normally pay at Subaru of Bend. I feel completely taken advantage of. I've taken my 2015 Forrester to Kendall since new. They are always polite and try to get me in and out in a timely fashion because I'm stuck there till my car is finished. I live out of the city and have no one to take me home and pick me up. While their prices are very high, I try to keep up with maintenance. My 60,000 mile checkup is due. I called to price replacement of my 4 spark plugs. She quoted a price of$395 ! That's nearly $100 per spark plug! I asked what a multi point check was and how much it is. I was quoted a little over$600 ! Oil change is $80. I recently replaced my own brakes for a cost of $370. ( labor & warrantee included) Kendall's quote was $650. I can no longer afford Kendall and highly doubt I'll be back. I understand businesses need to make a profit in order to stay in business, but this is ridiculous. At one point I was told I needed a new battery. I let them replace it but highly doubt a battery was done at only a year and a half old. I try not to be negative but I hate being taken advantage of and that's how I certainly feel. read more

When my mechanic told me he could no longer work on my '84 Jetta (couldn't get parts) I started my hunt for my last car (Seriously, I'm 71). I bought my 2012 Subaru Outback at Kendall Ford in 2014. They let me take it to my mechanic to check it out. He advised that I have them do a few things which they did without charge ($1500 worth). They took care of the little things as well - again at no charge. I've had a couple of things done at Kendall Subaru, the last being a catalytic converter. Yes, $$$$. They took excellent care of me, and even found me a discount. They are the nicest dealership I've ever dealt with. read more

I am so disappointed I was hoping Kendall would be better than Lithia but they are not. I bought a 2017 Subaru Forester in late March early April (can't remember date right now) 2018. It is a certified vehicle and the air conditioning doesn't work. I took it in once and the service guy said it was reading the outside temperature and that's why it wasn't getting cold. Well that wasn't true it is just blowing the ambient temperature. I took it back this morning and Brandon was incredibly rude and then started laughing at me when I was upset. He kept saying that he couldn't speak to what it means to buy a certified used car. He also kept ignoring my questions. They gave me a filthy loaner car to drive, in which I couldn't tell if there was any damage. The sales department was great the service department however is awful!!!! read more

I have a 98 Outback with 205,000 miles on it, but I've been religious in the maintenance of the vehicle (all done at the dealership), and so it actually runs and looks fine. I moved here last year from out-of-state, and soon took my car to the only Subaru dealer in the area to continue the upkeep of my car. Kendall jacked me on a couple trumped-up problems, and tried to get me on another one until I put a stop to it. The things they -did- screw me for: 1) A new power-steering compressor. They claimed the compressor was leaking, even though there had never been a SINGLE drop of fluid on the floor of my garage (I keep a clean garage, so I know). Plus, there have never been any drops seen in my parking space at work, and I park in the same place every day. They were adamant that "my safety" depended on replacing the compressor, so I crumbled. I at least prevented them from installing a Subaru-factory compressor (which costs 3x more than an after-market compressor). When I asked to see the old compressor that had been replaced, they "couldn't find it." This leads me to believe that the old compressor was fine. The evidence certainly points that direction. 2) New mounting hardware for the battery. They claimed that my old bracket for the battery was so corroded that it needed to be replaced. ALL battery brackets on cars as old as mine LOOK bad, but the metal is just fine. Nonetheless, Kendall claimed that they really had to replace it, knowing the condition of the bracket. Once again, I acquiesced. These two repairs cost me $700. Yes, you read correctly. $700 = A TOTAL RIP OFF. They also wanted to redo all of the seals in my transmission, "since they are leaking too." Again, there had been no evidence of such leaks. This time, I told them NO WAY - even though the sales lady really tried to give me the hard sell. Since then, I crawled under the car and was unable to find any leaks in the transmission seals (I know what to look for). My transmission fluid level hasn't changed A BIT. Finally, I asked them to turn the front rotors on the brakes - a common requirement with that vintage of Subaru. They said the rotors were fine, and therefore did nothing. Consequently, I left Kendall Subaru having spent $700 on UNNECESSARY repairs, but with a REAL problem left unfixed. My dad used to say, "you can shear a sheep seven times, but only slaughter it once." Well, Kendall slaughtered THIS sheep once, but they'll never pull the wool over my eyes again. There is NO WAY I am ever bringing my car back to the shysters at Kendall Subaru. read more

Had a scheduled appointment at 8:15 for a oil change and tire rotation before work should have been plenty of time to get it done before I had to be at work at 9:30. Wrong! Car not finished on time and was a half hour late for work. When service manager was questioned about the long wait I was told he had a tech call in sick and there was nothing to be done about it. You would think if you knew you were not going to be able to meet a appointment on time you would let the customer know when they arrived so other plans could be made. The worst part is the cursory "sorry, nothing I can do about it" statement from the service department. It's embarrassing to be late to work and the lack of empathy displayed by the service department is terrible. Never going back!!!! read more

The salesmen are dishonest. Don't trust a word they say and read every line of any paperwork you sign. They actually lied about the MSRP of our car in order to charge us more despite going in with a VIP family discount that is intended to be a cut and dry price. They didn't even use it. read more

I became the proud owner of a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT after my dad felt he needed a new one (hey, this thing has 33,000 miles on it- Gotta get a new one). I felt it best to take it in to the dealer as they are the ones who see these things day in and day out and generally know what to look for. Any difference in price, if any, would be minimal had I gone to one of those "Quickie Service" places. My hunch was right as the technician did a super job finding the items that needed addressing and the service adviser, Jill, did a great job letting me know about how much time I had to replace the items. The waiting area had comfy seats and the usual refinements including a work area for people needing a work space while their car is being worked on. Another big plus of the Kendall Auto Group is that they give a lot back to the community which in by book says they are trying to be good citizens. Not bad in this day and time. It looks like I have a new long term partner in keeping my New/Old Subaru on the road for many more years! read more
