BUT then enter Kendall Toyota' SERVICE MGR DWAYNE THOMPSON who creatively and figuratively literally (somehow) "put the proverbial cobb" to those at TOYOTA WARRANTY MGT who were obviously oblivious to concepts of Customer Service, pointing out that a 'new' solution was not needed as the braking system for my Toyota Sequoia HE FOUND WAS INTERCHANGEABLE WITH PARTS OF A TOYOTA TUNDRA !! Rather than focus on penny pinching customers, stay true to providing a quality and trustworthy experience. I've been taking two of my vehicles here for 8 years. Over that ti.e, the quality of the service has declined and I do not trust them anymore. The service reps are fine; they are literally and nice. However, too many times I go to spray windshield wiler fluid a couple days after a service and long behold, it's empty. Or I notice the tire valve stems are missing....again. Or, the tire psi after I take a vehicle in with low tire pressure is still low, bit the service report says all tire are perfectly pressurized. Or, I make a service appointment for a repair, takr the day off work to take it in, wait there for several hours only to find out that, "oh, sorry. Your vehicle has just been sitting there because we mixed things up. Can we schedule another time?" Too many little things have been repeatedly screamed at me to go somewhere else for service. Chance, Micaiah and Court were a great team to work with at Kendall. From initial contact and working with Chance and Micaiah to wrapping up the purchase with Court, they all made it very easy to work with. Flew in and got picked up by Chance and was out of the dealership within a couple of hours and back home in Cali all in a day. Would highly recommend reaching out to these guys if you ever need a Toyota in the future. They also have some pretty cool lifted Tacoma's that are nice to look at in their showroom. Me being "physically challenged" and not an ideal snow driver, I didn't want to drive to Eugene (4 hours) to look at a vehicle. Cameron arranged for it to be brought to us. While I understand that error is human, and some foreign names can be less intuitive (I have a U.S. drivers license which clearly enunciates Last Name and First Name... so nothing too challenging there), what triggers the negative rating is the way the issue was handled. I feel it's important to warn other potential customers. There was no accountability for the mistake: - first a denial that a mistake was made, and a litany of excuses ("it's because you're in CA and we're in OR", "our 3rd party Andes made the mistake", "I checked and your name is correct"...). Very fortunately I had a scan of the form their clerk filled to prove the error came from their end - then I emailed and called multiple times. They put the onus of following up on the customer. All unanswered. Bought new 2023 Tundra. Had factory TRD lift kit installed. Mechanic broke the wiring to the fuel control valve. He proceeded to use a zip tie to try to hold the connector together and sent me on my way. Are you kidding me!!!!! Well I made it home, but then not too long later, the engine stopped running. After being towed to two different dealers, finally they found the problem. I guess the zip tie trick did not work (OMG). Then a couple hundred miles later I am under the truck installing the rear bed step and notice that the main bolt to the suspension (connected to the rear axle) is not only loose, but the nut to the bolt has fallen completely off. I bought a 2020 Toyota Prius from Kendall Toyota and have been completely happy ever since. The dealership treated me right and sold me an excellent car at fair price, with extended service prepaid. The salesperson was fun to work with and made the many possible choices clear along the way. My Prius generally gets 45-55 mpg around town and 55-64 mpg on highway. When completely filled with regular gas, the car will drive 410-415 miles before running dry. This is my third Toyota in last 30 years, and it is the best one. No problems at all in first 3 years. Add air to tires occasionally, gas, windshield wiper fluid. Otherwise, I have been very happy with the professionalism of the entire operation. The service technicians are skilled and stand behind their work. I totally recommend Kendall Toyota for both sales and service. read more

I had a car deal all wrapped up over the phone.......price--fees----car fax done etc. CASH DEAL. the only issue is that I was flying from RENO NV to Eugene Or My "sales" rep was TREVOR....answered my questions-- The dealership knew I was flying and I had bought a ticket. They had agreed to pick me up from the local airport. Its a Toyota dealership, and that is also a positive--usually........... So far I was enjoying my buying experience--the typicaL buying anxiety was going away--key to a consumer making a large purchase. They reject deposits on vehicles which i thought was strange--even a small dealership takes deposits. Trever then HIGH PRESSURE TAKE AWAY CLOSES ME and texts--hurry up first come first serve on the car. WOW!!!!! We came down from Seattle to buy a specific car, took the train and were picked up in a nice van and brought to the dealership. We made sure to get our ducks in a row so far as contracting our insurance, pre-approval on loan etc, and the signing process was easy and quick. I think we were in and out in 2 hours- quite impressive. There was a play room for the kids and everyone was helpful. We decided against the added protection once we saw how much hubs was driving, would have blown through the mileage before the regular warranty was up. The dealership processed this and the $$ went back to the loan. All in all it was a great experience, a long day of driving and riding the train, but worth it and we love our new car! read more

However, while I was waiting I couldn't help but notice that the waiting area was stocked with some super gross, completely discredited right-wing propaganda. I suspect they would claim they set out periodicals to appeal to a wide variety of interests -- but there weren't any equivalent neutral or left-leaning political readings to be found. So if you want to be over charged and taken advantage of this is the place for you. I had a leak appear in the cab of my truck so reluctantly I had to take it to a auto body shop, unfortunately Kendall was the only place available with in a week for appointments. These mofos misdiagnosed the peak the first time and charged me 700 dollars, when I brought the truck in to have them look at it again they, said it's actually my whole sunroof that needed to be replaced cause of a faulty gasket, which would be $1300. I asked if they could just replace the gasket and told me no cause it comes as a kit and not sold separately. So I did a quick 30 second google search for a part number and found a brand new OEM part for $34. So I ended up fixing it myself, and didn't support their dirty little racket they have running. As far as workman ship is shoty as hell, the forgot to reinstall pieces from the removal of my roof liners, and bed of truck, they also left greasy hand prints on my liner I've been trying to clean for weeks now, honestly very disappointed in the entire process, of dealing with these people. I'm still waiting for the replacement parts to arrive 3 weeks later. Don't go here. read more

I am extremely disappointed in how Kendall Toyota of Eugene handled a potential car deal. I was working with Katelyn McCall at the dealership. We agreed on a price and arranged a date and time to do a test drive and pick up of the vehicle. We live about 270 miles away. In preparation to make the trip to Eugene, we had to take time off of work and even booked a local hotel. We were excited to move forward with the purchase but thought we'll check in with Katelyn to make sure everything was in the clear, I asked, "would check would be okay?" (indicating we weren't going to finance it) then immediately it was communicated to us it was "Sold!". No warning, no heads up that another deal was in process, or any other potential buyers. I attached the conversation I had with Katelyn. Per WSJ "Dealers have always preferred you finance versus pay cash, but they have amped up the pressure to take loans and are, in some cases, even refusing a sale if you intend to pay cash. And yes, this is perfectly legal for a dealer to refuse your money". Kendall Toyota of Eugene was not being transparent or honest. They wasted my time. On Monday we signed papers on a red Jeep from the dealership with Kaleb was our sales person, he was great. Kaleb said it needed repairs, we could pick it up on Friday. On Friday The sales manager called and said they sold the Jeep to someone else, he would get with Mike Morris and figure out how they could make it right. No one ever called us back. A couple of weeks later I called Mike, he said he hadn't heard anything about it. He would see what he could do. A week and a half later we still haven't heard anything from anyone at the dealership. Oh, what a fool I be. Foolishly (you know, like a fool), I went to Kendall Toyota to see about a keyfob for a Camry I recently purchased. It came with one, but it wasn't working, so I scheduled a time recently to have the keyfob I have looked at. Additionally, Kendall said they had one that would work for my vehicle and I was interested in purchasing that one and having it paired to my car as well. I was told on the phone that this procedure would be scheduled "for a few hours." I told the guy on the phone setting the appointment that this is a 15-20 minute job, so I didn't understand why it would be booked out for 2-3 hours. He said he wanted to be safe, so he put it down to block out for 2-3 hours. Should have been a RED FLAG right there. I showed up promptly for my appointment and it was a virtual ghost town. 10 salespeople as I walked through the doors and through the dealership to the Service area, but only 1 lone Service person and nobody manning the Parts counter. I got his attention and gave him my keys. Then I waited. And waited. And continued to wait. After I had been there for 45 minutes, the kid in Service came over to me and told me it would be another 45 minutes. Remember, this is something that only takes 15-20 minutes, so I have no clue what the hold up is. 30 minutes later (an hour and 15 minutes after my appointment time), I hear a tech asking the Service kid if I want one or two keyfobs and the Service kid explains that I want to try to pair my old one and their new one to my car and I'd take them both. The tech leaves to finally work on the purpose of my appointment. 12 minutes later the tech comes back and says to the kid in Service that neither keyfob will pair to my car. Even faster than I thought it would take. A few minutes later I am told the bad news and asked if I wanted to have them investigate the cause. If they had done the test when my appointment was for, I would have agreed. As it was, I missed having lunch with a friend from Portland because I was there far longer than I ever needed to be. On the plus side, I wasn't charged (which quite frankly, I shouldn't have been -- believe it or not, but my time is worth something, too). The downside is that it took ANOTHER 15 minutes to print off the page that said they didn't fix anything so I could sign it and get my keys to leave. Overall, I was less than impressed with Kendall Toyota. I love Toyotas, but I didn't even consider these guys when I went looking for one to buy because their Service ability is virtually zero. Read my previous reviews on this place regarding Service (or their lack thereof). It is perfectly OK that they couldn't get either keyfob to work. If they could have, I would have been happy to spend some money there. But for it to take an hour and 45 minutes to perform a 12 minute task is a bit ridiculous. Don't overbook appointments, Kendall; it pushes back your legitimate customers who are there on time expecting prompt service of their vehicle. If this happened at a restaurant, it would go viral considering there wasn't hardly any customers present. It is such standard fare at Kendall that I'll keep it to this review and move on with my future business. read more

Update, even worse than I had written before. At the same visit , they told me my brake fluid was in "red" dire need of replacement immediately, upcharge of $166.00. Independent mechanic just checked it and I asked them to replace it, but they refused my business because the brake fluid was in great condition. This week I took my 2018 Toyota Tacoma in for service and recalls and had a vibration coming from the front of my vehicle. The service guy in the office was great so this isn't his fault. I was told I just need a rebalance and next time I can do a tire rotation which I though was strange since I always ask for them at service when I bring my truck in. I was also told I'll just need a rebalance which would cost extra so right after that appointment with Toyota I went to Les Schwab to have them rebalance and I was told by two of their workers my tires have never been rotated.... I have the paperwork from Kendal Toyota that shows all my "tire rotations" and screen shot all the same info in my Toyota App. Kendal Toyota of Eugene has been failing to rotate my tires and saying that it's been done. I have severe cupping in my two front tires. Mind you these tires are my second set for this truck and should have 75% life left of my tires... now I have to purchase two Front tires. Called and left a message with Amanda at Kendal Toyota of Eugene to give to the manager and haven't heard back. I drive my child every day, this isn't safe and it's fraud! Also I was told my recall I brought back in to get fixed couldn't be replaced due to it not malfunctioning when they test drove it. read more

Beyond rude. I came in from out of town and needed help. When I got there I stepped in to talk to one of the service advisors and was promptly told to go stand by my car and wait. Three advisors sitting there doing nothing. I went and stood by my car for 10 minutes. Nothing. Went back in and talked to a different guy. He hardly listened to my problem and just said that the schedule was full so they would not even look at it. THIS WAS THE OPPOSITE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. I won't be back.
