When we entered, Mike (the proprietor) was engaged with a customer. We waited politely for our turn to be helped, browsed the hats on the wall, and minded the posted notices "Not to Touch the hats or take photos". Once Mike was free, he attended my father. Mike was very patient in explaining the different styles, showing my father various hats, having him try on multiple designs, etc. in the end, we purchased (2) hats w accessories. Mike was the epitome of traditional customer service. Friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. This is a store you go to for quality, service, and experience. You can get you a Deadhead sticker for your Cadillac or VW Van, the coolest hippy clothes for the next festival, incense by the bucket load, candles, art - mass produced and locally created, a room full of vinyl and every inch of the place is filled with something more cool than what you were just admiring. I picked up a few stickers and a zine as gifts. I'm not sure why it's been so long since I was last in here, but any trip to Westport going forward must include a stop in to recharge the soul and pick-up something to enjoy or to gift. This gem of a store has been so clutch over the years for picking up gifts. Some of the people in my life are, um, a little hard to shop for, but when I come in here, I always come away with something great. It's all so well-curated; some gifts are classy, some funny, and many are versatile. It beats the socks off of going into a big box store in a million ways. Being in a charming stretch of a walkable area adds to its appeal, and the staff is always friendly. They also have Pickwick candles which are some of the best in town. These soy candles will last multiple seasons and almost all of them smell amazing. Cheers to this shop, they're doing it right and have saved my bacon every December since they've opened.
