I just had dinner at Kenichi and if I could give it 10 stars I would. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was the best I have ever had. I was able to speak with the owners of a bit and they are the nicest people I have ever met. I can't wait to go back and try some different sushi as well as some different dishes. Honestly, meh. Ok this is being snobby but while it was decent sushi it just doesn't match up to Miyazawa or Baba. The volcano roll was boring and generic, nothing special or unique. One of my favorite sushi spots around here. Started the outing with a couple vodka sodas. As for sushi, we ordered the angel roll, a spicy tuna roll and the one with the eggs inside. We sat outside, it was beautiful out. Breezy and sunny. Can't beat a lunch like that. They forgot the soy sauce and our last roll but it wasn't a big deal at all. Oh! After moving to the area recently I stumbled upon Kenichi and will NEVER order sushi or Chinese from another restaurant again. Everything I've ordered has always been delicious, and the leftovers are even better. The chicken wings, crab rangoons, and general gaos are my go-to's and you seriously can't go wrong with any of the sushi. I've only ordered takeout (you know, with the pandemic and all) but the staff has always been so nice when I pickup my order. This a hole in the wall sushi restaurant & bar. Very small fast paced environment for adults. Not child friendly. Great sushi, appetizers & Asian dishes. Vegetarian & pescatarian friendly. NOT VEGAN friendly. 4 stars because the sushi prices do not match the quality or size of the sushi. The sushi did taste well & it was fresh. I ordered vegetable fried rice, steamed shumai & spicy tuna maki. The rice was not what I expected visually & flavor wise, but it was good. The steamed shumai seemed to be prepped for frying due to the thick wrapping, but besides that the flavor was decent. The spicy tuna Maki was very small, but good. My boyfriend ordered dumpling soup, which he enjoyed. He also ordered Kenichi's Spicy Chicken, which is his favorite due to the crunchiness. It came with white rice. Good experience. I don't know if I can even describe how bad my experience was here. 1. My boyfriend and I ordered 3 sushi rolls to share and the waitress brought the wrong rolls. We ate 2 of them anyway- they were ehhh. 2. I ordered the green tea mochi ice cream- I have had mochi at several other sushi restaurants in MA and RI and LOVE IT. I was so disappointed! Not only do they only give you 2 pieces of mochi, it was extremely freezer burnt, and tasted like I was eating a cardboard green tea box SO BAD! 3. There was very drunk man in the bar area who had obviously been over served (like 6 too many mai tais) and was yelling and arguing with the bartender about his bill and the bartender and staff were yelling and arguing with him making it worse. Very unprofessional and unpleasant for all us other customers. I would NOT go back here. read more

Tried their "happy hours" sushi a few month ago, sit at the sushi bar, and the roll is just bunch of rice. You just gonna feel the rice, not the fish. Ask for spicy mayo and they charge $0.75. Not recommended. read more

My fav sushi here is the Angel Maki and the crazy maki. Both never disappoint but the star of the show for me has to be the house fried rice. Also I love the owners and the service here is always great and accommodating. read more

Where do I even start, first off there is no where to wait for your pick up order, it's a very small place and you are literally standing in the middle of the dining area where people are eating. Placed a take-out order fully paid, when I went to go pick it up they said that they did not receive the order and that they could not refund my money. After going back & forth for about 45 minutes, they said they finally received my order and that it would be ready soon. That took an additional 20 minutes, to make matters even worse all the employees except for about 1 or 2 were sitting on their phones .... mind you this place is fully busy. After all the trouble I encountered I got no apology or anything comped off the bill for my trouble. Fair to say I will never be coming back. read more

This new sushi restaurant is surprisingly good and good for your wallet too. Maki roll around $10 and the $40 love boat for 2 is differently worth it. I think the price is cheaper than a few other place in Worcester. We'll sure to come back when we are in town. This place is jam packed at dinner time on Sat. So come early and prepare to wait a little. It has a full bar with TV for the games as well. read more

This place rocks for sushi, if you are like me, and always been kind of a maki only sushi eater, do yourself a favor, go to Kenichi order the love boat, and eat everything on it. It is a wonderful chef's choice of all types of sushi, nigiri sashimi, and its all Delicious, you just can't be disappointed with it, and the kicker? $40 for a boat for two. The service is great and your server and or chef will explain whatever dish you get that you don't recognize. It's a small cozy place with a nice atmosphere and I guess they have some other menu items that aren't sushi but I don't see me getting anything but sushi, but you never know. We visited here last week. Everything about this place was wonderful. Its a cozy spot on Shrewsbury St, and we did visit here on a weeknight so there was no wait. I also found that the noise level was lower then some other sushi places we have visited which i enjoyed. Our waitress was really sweet and also timely. Drinks and food were presented quickly. The vegetable tempura was delicious and our sushi boat was great. The fish tasted fresh and I was pleasantly surprised that the rolls weren't doused in heavy sauces and condiments. Definitely a restaurant I plan on visiting again. Between the service and the food, this is probably my preferred place to order sushi. read more

Prob fried rice is the best here, better than anywhere also I have ever been. Everyone here is nice and the drinks are mad strong. Sushi is terrific but I highly recommend the tuna tostada. Sushi grad tuna on little chips with little sprouts and sauce and some other delicious treats. Food and service great here. Only bad experience is when my boyfriend and I walked in and sat down, the waitress asked what we wanted and gave her our order. She instead of giving us the combo, she gave the order to us separately meaning instead of two orders, she gave us four. We paid double what we were supposed to pay. My recommendation is to tell the waitress EXACTLY what you want because she will assume the other and instead of paying $30-$40 for a meal, you'll end up paying $70 for a party of two. read more

This is the best sushi I have had in Worcester! I was just up north for a work trip and wanted some good sushi, and this place was highly recommended. I had the steak teppanyaki, the mountain roll, and a few pieces of nigiri. My favorite was the toro and the salmon. The house punch really came with a kick! Would definitely come back! read more

Best udon noodles I've ever had. We got the stir fried chicken udon and the flavor was so good. I'm definitely interested in trying their other noodle dishes next time. Only reason I gave it a 4/5 was because the sushi wasn't bad, but nothing too special. A lot of rolls on the menu had cream cheese in them, which isn't my personal preference. We also got a mai tai which came in a short glass and tasted fine. There's plenty of street parking, they have an outdoor seating area, and the inside is nice. I definitely recommend their udon. However, if you've never had udon noodles before, they are really thick, slippery noodles that can be a little tough to pickup so maybe ask for a fork if your chopstick skills aren't too strong. read more

Potent Mai-Thai's, good quality sushi, good prices. This is a fun little place to come and get some drinks. I usually can tell right off the bat if the sushi place is junk after the Miso soup and house salad course. They were very bad, the Miso soup tasted like the foam cup instant kind, and the ginger salad dressing tasted like they just dumped the water from the picked ginger jar on some old ice burg. But then they had a great Mai-thai and very good quality sushi, with a ton of reasonably priced and creative specialty rolls. So if your the kind of sushi person that doesn't fool with any of the sides, I recommend this place very highly. read more

By far my favorite restaurant in Worcester! As the Duke I would highly recommend this place to everyone. The Mai Tais are amazing (very strong) the spicy chicken wings are my favorite chicken wings of all time. They have amazing sushi, the fish is very fresh. I went here after reading all the review son yelp and seeing an average 4.5 star rating... I was VERY disappointed. The quality of the fish was OK, but the presentation and portions were horrible. One thing I always order when trying a new sushi place is the rainbow roll. It is my favorite and alows me to compare sushi places. The rainbow roll here was SAD. The California roll portion of it was more than half avocado on the inside. The fish on top was again mostly avocado, and the few fish pieces that were on top were thin. I also had the angel eyes roll... Fish inside, cucumber outside, no rice. It was very small, and only five pieces, and did nothing for the taste buds. My boyfriend ordered a Philadelphia roll. The portions of cream cheese were way too much. And the spicy salmon roll that he ordered... was not spicy salmon at all. This place is a big waste of money. read more
