    Pork Belly Buns (3)
    Mark T.

I had written almost the entire review, and then decided to switch from four stars to five. I do have some minor notes, but I decided some of these (such with the pork belly buns) could be a matter of taste. Further, the sushi was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. I had the opportunity to try: - Pork Belly Buns - Crab Rangoons - Unagi Maki - Firecracker Maki Pork Belly Buns - didn't really do it for me. Perhaps I have become picky with such things, and am seeking out some kind of 'perfection' which I had in a restaurant that has since changed the recipe. On the positive side the pork was cooked very nicely and was rather tender. However, on the flip side, I found it bland - there were some savory notes, though they were muted. The sauce was very mild in flavor and resembled a lightly sweetened gravy. Further, the sauce on the side an already on the buns appeared very similar, if not the same thing. The cucumber was a nice touch, though I would have preferred a little more, and the sauce overtook a bit. I should mention I ended up sending this one back - asking for the Crab Rangoons instead. They were able to switch this for me, thank you very much :) I'd also like to mention that they state this item is very popular, so this might just be me being nitpicky, maybe. Crab Rangoons - were solid. They were piping hot and fresh straight from the fryer! They were cooked perfectly and of a very decent size. My critique with these is the filling was a little unidimensional. The only flavors I was able to pick up on was sweetened cream cheese. I want to say I would have preferred it be a little more 'crabby'. However, having made rangoons myself, I can tell you crab sticks are not tremendously flavorful on their own. It is about what's added to the filling itself. Unagi Maki - was great! It was well-balanced in eel to cucumber to avocado. The sauce wasn't overdone, and the rice was high quality. As much as I love creative rolls, sometimes simplicity just works. Firecracker - was excellent! There was a very generous amount of top-quality fish. Like with the unagi, the rice was high quality. The sauce was not at all overpowering, and the tempura gave a light, pleasant crunch. My only note here is that I didn't find this roll spicy. Usually jalapeno is enough to trigger a feeling of heat. This could be the nature of the roll, or the nature of my tongue... likely a combination of both. The service was polite and fast. However, where the tables were behind the partition they are hidden from view. Though, it only took peeking from out of it to get the server's attention.

I am a big fan of Oishi Japanese Restaurant. Located right on Main Street, this place has plenty of parking options ranging from parking lots to street parking. The outside decoration and signage were well crafted giving off a very polished vibe. The interior is beautifully decorated with plenty of seats that can accommodate large parties to intimate dinners. The service is very fast and the wait staff is very friendly. I ordered the hibachi chicken and salmon which came up around $18. The plate and portions were massive. I loved the sweet teriyaki and savory egg fried rice. We also ordered chicken wings, which were absolutely bomb. Juicy and crispy just like they should be. I was very impressed with my dine-in experience! Check them out if you're in the area!

Ordered takeout from here and it was relatively quick. The spicy tuna roll was good, the salmon was good but the tuna nigiri was a bit weird. Sort of came apart at the seams. The shrimp was sweet which I enjoyed. Pretty good price for what you got as well. The inside was also nice enough to dine inside of if I ever go back.

First time trying this place and we won't be back. Our friend had ordered a beef rice plate however it was too chewy/rubber like to be able chew (she has a jaw problem ) so she kindly asked if she could order something else.. like any regular person would, that was when chaos unfolded. A man from the kitchen comes out and crashes out on her for not reading the menu even though we had repeatedly mention the problem at him but nonetheless he kept yelling at her and saying "why you no think" snd basically implying why she didn't use her brain.....and he made sure the entire restaurant heard it too which is so embarrassing and made us uncomfortable.... Honestly the whole situation was just unprofessional on their part. We also called the next day to speak with a manager about the situation and he simply didn't seem to care. Do better. Poke was good though and the hostess at the front was nice.

The food is delicious!! Waitress was very nice and honey with opinions, so appreciative!

Food: I got the seaweed salad, Gyoza, Fuji Mountain and Worcester Maki roll. honestly, I'm quite disappointed by the overall quality as everything was just rather soggy. For eight dollars of seaweed salad the portion is screaming. The Gyoza's would have been decent if they were crispy fried. Both the sushi rolls tasted like they've been sitting for a little too long and the wraps were soggy. Overall, it just wasn't fresh. Service: I ordered takeout, which was fine when I scheduled to pick up at eight. It was already ready a little earlier. Ambiance: it's rather quiet but spacious. They recently renovated the place so it's rather nice inside. Location accommodation: there's parking on the side towards the right side of the restaurant.

Food was great! Very quick, very polite service. Food is really good price nowadays in this economy, and you get good portions too. Nice quiet atmosphere and great for a nice lunch/dinner.

Probably more of a take out place. Went in person and it was quite empty. Big restaurant on the inside. Service was of course kind and friendly. Sushi was okay.

Came here for lunch. Large space with a lot of tables, definitely started to get quite busy as I was heading out. Service was attentive and friendly. Great spot for the price. Nothing fancy, but a solid spot nonetheless. I got the lunch special spicy maki tuna which came with miso soup and salad. Really great deal and all was delicious. I also got an order of the fried gyoza which was a bit underwhelming and flavorless without the sauce. Will definitely have to come back and try some of the other menu items.

After seeing the Avengers, we passed the nearby Feng Asian Bistro (which we consider to be a very mediocre restaurant) and decided to try a small Sushi place off Main Street in Worcester. They have tables and a small sushi bar here, though it's a modest and spartan looking spot. We think you order at the counter, though that was never clearly elucidated. We were handed two menus at the counter, and they pointed in the direction of the half dozen empty tables when we told them we were eating there. We think this is a takeout oriented establishment. The menu is relatively extensive for a small place and we selected: * Sashimi Sushi Maki Combination Deluxe $23: 6 pieces of sashimi, 6 pieces of sushi and California maki. Served with miso soup or salad (I ordered the salad - Fresh, lettuce, carrots and cucumber with ginger dressing). * Tuna Salmon Fun Plate $12.25: 4 pieces of spicy tuna roll, 4 pieces of spicy salmon roll, 2 pieces of tuna sushi and 2 pieces of salmon sushi. * Gold Fish Roll $12.95: Spicy salmon, mango, avocado, tempura crumbs topped with salmon, shrimp and tobiko. The salad arrived first. It was very basic, mainly lettuce with a traditional dressing. The salad was followed by the sushi and rolls. We thought the sushi was good, far from the best or worst we've ever sampled. There was no follow-up from anyone, and when we finished, we strolled up to the counter to pay. The ambiance is extremely basic, the Dunkin Donuts of sushi. As stated earlier, we think this restaurant is mainly a takeout and delivery-oriented place. Would we come again? If I was on Main Street and needing a sushi fix, I would return, assuming a better option was unavailable.

Sawa had a decent Yelp rating (and was essentially the only place we could walk to), so we decided to give it a try. It has a large bar, traditional table seating and Hibachi steakhouse style seating, it's a fairly large place. It also projects a traditional Japanese Steakhouse vibe. Since we were dining at an off time, there was only one other patron in view. They have an expansive Asian menu and we ordered: Salmon Dinner - 5pcs of salmon sushi & spicy salmon roll (with salad) Asian Fried Rice with Chicken Scallion Pancake Gyoza -Japanese pan fried pork dumpling 2 Green Tea Total with Tip: $78 How expansive is the menu? If you search for Salmon on their online menu, you get 47 hits! Service was good, then again we were essentially on our own. The Salmon was good, not the best I've ever had, but tasty. The Fried Rice was also tasty, but very salty. The Scallion Pancakes were crispy and nicely cooked, we really liked these. And the Gyoza was very tasty, but should have been crisper. Overall, a very enjoyable "Linner" and a 4-star dining experience. I would return here if in the area.

Low lighting inside but it fit the vibe well. I got the Hibachi Lunch w/Chicken. Presentation was good and the chicken was well cooked. The staff were very friendly and bubbly. A lot of nerds making ramen at their booth. Tons of anime figurines, memorabilia, and references. This is the style of ramen place that an anime convention should have. The ramen was pretty good. The noodles were fresh and well prepared. The ramen broth was a little heavy on the bonito, authentic but needed more richness and a little more salt. The toppings were seasoned and prepared properly. The pork was good but a small portion. Egg was jammy and salty, and the other toppings were nice flavor pops. For 12.50, it's a very solid bowl of ramen. Despite my gripes, the ramen is a very solid bowl of noodles and the staff is very fun to interact with. The ramen just needs a little tweaking to make it stellar. I got the "Super Shoyu". It was definitely a good bowl of ramen; a nice soy umami flavor with some diverse notes throughout. The pork chashu was cut nice and thin, and I was able to watch him torch the pork right in front of me which was cool. The menma was really flavorful and added some depth to the bowl. I think the only thing I'd hope for going forward was a bit more broth in the bowl (it was enough, but felt like there could have been a bit more added). They have a cool loyalty program too (which of course I joined, I'm a sucker for rewards programs). I'm looking forward to heading back to the public market soon and grabbing some more bowls off the menu! Great job so far guys!!
