This has become my favorite bar in Kenmore. I live just down the street and the two regular bartenders Angie and Matthew are the most welcoming people who have made this feel like a second home. I started coming here after checking out Tabs and The savage moose and this place is hands down the best atmosphere. From watching Monday night and Thursday night football here to bringing my friends in and playing pool. Without Matthew and Angie I would not have become a regular customer and I look forward to many more evenings at what I consider the best dive bar in Kenmore. read more

Kenmore Lanes is fun, but you really have to time it right. Weekends in May are basically a no‑go -- leagues and championships take over. Saturdays aren't open to the public until around 9 PM, and Sundays not until about 5-5:30 PM, so don't expect a daytime lane. The good stuff: tons of parking, and it's super close to a Dollar Store, Starbucks, and grocery options. Super convenient. Food used to be a great deal -- cheaper than Red Robin -- but prices have jumped. Now it's actually a little more expensive, and the kids' meals aren't the bargain they used to be. They used to include fries and a soda; now the soda is an extra $2. Overall: good spot, just pricey lately and super crowded on May weekends. read more

I researched that the bowling alley was built in 1958. When you walk in it's like being transported to a different time with the original bones of the building reminiscent of a nostalgic era. It's like a cool backdrop for a myriad of movies. I could picture Chevy Bel Airs/ Chevelles and muscle cars all parked outside. Maybe a burger joint was next door and you could eat your burger after bowling and there are 50 teens and adults celebrating the big game before internet and social media. Service was great and the food counter was efficient. I really enjoyed bowling here and everything was clean and tidy. Unlike other bowling alleys reminiscent of shag carpets, 70's era everything, and the lingering smell of smoke and cheap beer, this bowling alley is by far the best I've gone to. We've been here quite a few times with having a kid in Unified Bowling. The staff is always helpful and accommodating, even during Unified season and it's chaotic. They have a ton of ramps for bowlers who need them and placed us at a quieter end because we had people with sensory needs with us a few days ago. It's a little out dated, but you don't need high tech to have fun and bowl. read more

I want to like Kenmore Lanes much better than I presently do. They offer food and drinks and they have lots of lanes that they do oil regularly. We like going here and you can find parking. However, their equipment is old and breaks frequently and you pay by time so yesterday we had to go up and ask them to have the person behind the lanes fix the pin setup / ball drop 3 times in one hour. You are paying for a lane you can't use for 10 out of your 60 minutes so that is no fun. Their balls are pretty beaten up unless you have your own. Their drinks are pretty spendy for a bowling alley. They have plenty of people coming to bowl, they just need to put money into the equipment and keep it affordable and they will do fine. They have lots of leagues and bowling tournaments there so no excuses that they don't have anyone coming to bowl. read more

Reviewing as a regular at the bar. We come in a couple times a week, as long as Angie and Matthew are here! Spectacular service from them. They are attentive and personable and we share many laughs. They know our names, our orders, and are by far the best bartenders we've ever had. They are pillars of this bar. They treat us right which is why we keep coming back. I'll start with the only good about this place - the food and the bar. Food is a little spendy, but it does taste great. The service at the bar is excellent as well. That said, don't bring your good bowling equipment here - these lanes will chip and damage it. They have 50 year old equipment and is obviously not maintained. Lanes breakdown regularly, balls get stuck and get damaged, and all the guy at the front will say is "Well, it's 50 year old equipment, what do you expect?" I expect my equipment to NOT be damaged when I bowl here. I've been bowling league here off and on for over a decade and it is the same old run down equipment - the last upgrade they did was this year to their scoring system, which looks nice, but the interface is still clumsy and you're lucky if the button works to get in/out/advance. This begs the question where are my (non-sanctioned) league dues going then if not to help maintain the equipment that we use? These guys know they are the only bowling alley within a 25 mile radius and simply don't care. Go somewhere else if you care about your bowling experience. read more

I am pretty disappointed in our experience here. Took the kids for the afternoon to play a couple of games. The guy put us on a lane and a few frames in, he came by and said that there had been issues on the lane and it had been closed for the last few days. The mechanic found nothing wrong, so let us know if there were issues. First game had no issues. The second game, within the first frame, it only was setting up like 6 pins. We played a few frames hoping that it would right itself. 4 frames, it had not. Went to start the 5th frame and the whole machine froze. Went and stood in line for 10 min for him to tell us to hit the reset button and come back. Went and hit the reset several times. Came back, waited in line again. While waiting in line, we realized we wouldn't have time to wait for them to fix it or to restart a game because one of the kids had a dr appointment and we had already been waiting for quite awhile for a resolution. Finally got to the counter, told him what happened, returned our shoes and said we didnt have opportunity to wait. He just said "will have to have a mechanic look at it" and went back to spraying shoes. Ideally, I would have liked a partial game refund because we were unable to play on their broken lanes. But the fact that it wasn't even acknowledged was what makes me most disappointed in the experience. We paid $80 for 2 games. Played 1 real game, had a broken half experience on the second game, then waited for like 20min to not even have it acknowledged. read more

Bowling Alleys are few and far between these days and I'm happy to say Kenmore Lanes is alive and well! We came on a Saturday afternoon to beat the ran and the place was packed! It was so great to see so many folks out and about enjoying themselves. Several leagues were starting their season off, along a few birthday parties. Fun place! We had an office party here and it was great. They accommodated our large party with a reservation. We had three lanes and bowled for a few hours enjoying everyone we work with outside of the office. Everyone really liked the food, they have a pretty good sized menu. With my gluten allergy they were able to do the caesar salad without croutons and it was really good. Warm freshly made chicken and fresh salad greens. Went to Kenmore Lanes thinking that it was $8 per game and $4.50 per pair of shoes. I arrive with my party of four thinking this to be a good deal as the bowling alley itself was nothing fancy. I've been here before with friends and had a great experience. When I get rung up at the register the gentleman say what I think is $18 for two games and four people. Surprised, I inserted my card and paid the price. I get my receipt to see that I was charged $80. I was pretty upset to see how expensive bowling has gotten. There goes another fun activity to do with family. The reason I gave it 2 stars and not one is because we still had a good time, but I probably won't be back. Parking is free and easy, and my group of 8 were able to walk in and get two lanes on a Friday (apparently they always fill up on Friday esp since the majority of the lanes are full with a bowling league). The food and drinks were surprisingly good! The fish and chips actually were comparable to what you could get in an actual restaurant minus the more expensive looking presentation. Bowling was fun, although the controls for the scoreboards was very difficult and the buttons only worked half the time (lead to a lot of button mashing). Enjoyed a Friday night bowling session for a birthday. Lots of parking, lots of lanes. You must reserve your spot ahead of time. Went to the bar for some fair priced drinks. This is an old school bowling alley. No frills, but awesome service and great prices on the food. You can't beat those things. This is a hidden gem when it comes to taking your family out to do an activity. Kids love bowling and the kids meals are $5.99 each. We do the kids bowl free program and it makes it an inexpensive outing. We also bought bowling shoes at the pro shop. The people who work at this bowling alley are great. They are super patient and helpful. I do wish Kenmore Lanes offered a weekly Saturday or Sunday cosmic bowling from like 3-5pm or 4-6pm. That would be a great family addition. read more

I am not a bowler but I come here weekly to watch my boyfriend bowl league. While I sit and watch, I haaaave to get something to eat and I love the service here. Every week I am here, Kelsey is at the register and she is great! I have become a regular and she remembers my order, the little things I ask for (like extra utensils) and is always just really kind with a smile on her face. I purposely asked her for her name so I could shout her out. For the other employees, I don't know their names, but they are also amazing! Kenmore Lanes is meh. They told us that they would not put up the bumpers for our 5 year old, so my child was getting frustrated that all their balls were going into the gutter. We were given no explanation other than they won't, and this was not during a bowling tournament or any special event at all. If they had mechanical issues, or any other explanation, I would understand. I'm super disappointed, and not sure why they even offer bowling for children when they can't be kid-friendly. Kenmore Lanes also participates in the Kids Bowl Free program, but finding a different bowling alley that can be more kid-friendly and accommodating, and are able to put up bumpers is what I suggest to anyone reading this, especially if they have younger kids. read more

I had a pretty good experience bowling at these lanes. The only thing I wish they did different was spread out the different parties a bit more. We had another group of people right next to us. (Covid-times) About half the entire establishment was empty but they had everyone to one side. Our lane errored out a few times but they were able to fix it for us relatively quickly. Not sure how quickly they would be able to service a broken lane if they were at full capacity so take this piece of info as you will. Some good things were that they had the shoe sizes and ball weights we wanted. We asked for two 10lbs and they didn't make us share one ball which was pretty nice. I probably would come back again and probably ask for a more separated lane next time. read more

Came yesterday (Sunday) at 230pm and oh man was it swamped! I wish I would have known to reserve lanes two days in advance to guarantee the space and time I wanted for my party. Luckily it was only a 30 min wait for two lanes (estimated 13 people, though only 10 showed up). It was a struggle for inputting our names on each lane. The joystick and enter button were very sensitive so it took us a while to enter names and half the people got on only the first letter of their name multiple times. The one lane we had was also a little faulty. It didn't register the completed two frame per person if they got a gutter so we had to constantly reset the lane to move to the next person. I was also a little bummed that they didn't have us switch sides after each frame. Overall service was good at the food counter and register. read more

I went there for birthday party for what turned out to be a generally underwhelming experience, the lanes were pretty compact and sound travels fairly easily meaning it's difficult to have a decent conversation. Generally speaking I'm a pretty impressionable guy, meaning it takes a lot for me to call the staff of an establishment but the folks at the main desk (where you go rent your shoes) were not very friendly, came with attitude to boot, patronizing as hell. The bar: got a pitcher of Manny's and the bartender gave me the ass (very last beer) of the keg and had to switch out kegs after the pour. But the beer was dead flat, flatter than a pancake on a diet. I suppose the one positive thing is that the beer wasn't super expensive but honestly I would have paid more not to deal with those folks.
