It's interesting how McMenamins has taken a strip mall place and turned it into a look of one of its restoration project places. The woodwork and other decor give the feel of an old building, an Irish pub restored. But carpet on the floor in a restaurant/bar? Yuck! Bad choice. The food is average, done okay, but nothing to write home about, typical McMenamins fare that you find at all the McMenamins locations. Average. Tasty but boring. Most of it was fine. The kids' food was better than average for kids' food. But the one item that deeply disappointed me was the Satriale's Italian Beef Dip sandwich I had. It's supposed to be shaved ribeye, Provolone, pickled peppers, grilled onions on a garlic-toasted roll with Black Rabbit Red wine jus. It was a hamburger patty broken up, along with the other stuff. The picked peppers were shortcut with Mama Lil's (one can recognize them), and while good, they just were not what I would expect in an Italian Beef Dip. Should be some roasted pepper and some house-picked peppers. I've had too many great Chicago Italian Beef Dip sandwiches over the years. Those (when done well) are a 10. This was maybe a 2 1/2 or a 3 at best. So, okay (3 stars) is begrudgingly given. read more

Last week I had an absolutely disgusting meal at McMenamin's Mill Creek. I found a worm in my fish and chips meal at this restaurant. The staff was wonderful, but when I wrote to McMenamin's customer service, they offered me a gift card. This company needs to get their act together, and be serious about the quality of their food. Though they have assured me that it is not a food safety issue because the worm was cooked, it is still absolutely disgusting and customers need to know. I will not be going to any McMenamin's for the foreseeable future. read more

The ambiance is casual and we were able seat immediately on a Saturday later afternoon. Our server was very friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed (possibly on the newer side), and the "no tomato with tots" request on the Queen Anne Sandwich unfortunately was not honored. The tomato slices were easy to take off and the food tasted good overall. They have RC Cola which was a nice change, but the very limited dessert menu was a bit disappointing. The sundae is exactly as you'd expect, tasty but nothing stellar. Our server offered to check into what to do about the order mistake but then forgot to ask if we'd want a free dessert (or entree if we declined) until we asked about it after paying. read more

I couldn't even tell if it was because I was hungry or the food is really that good, but my Happy Hour Vera Cruz Tacos were seriously one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. The fish chunks were SO crispy and fresh and the creamy sauce and fresh onions were off the hook accompaniments. Pair that with my nonalcoholic Basil Ginger Spritz and this was an unexpectedly perfect and delicious little Happy Hour meal. My companion (my oldest child) enjoyed their Smash Burger and Grapefruit Pom Nom Paloma as well. The music was lively and at a good volume and the service from Andrew was great. Really really good experience that exceeded my admittedly limited expectations. But still , it's so much better to be pleasantly surprised than unexpectedly disappointed. read more

We were impressed by their menu given they specifically detail their vegan and vegetarian options, the vegetarian represented by a small "v" and the vegan, by what looks to be a 5 leaf clover. We were also impressed by the variety of vegan options that are available. The first is a "Higher Bowl" - rice, black beans, cabbage, tomato, avocado, cilantro & your choice of sauce. The second healthy option is a salad - Six Arms Goddess romaine, cucumber, tomato, bell peppers, marinated onion, pita chips, Goddess dressing. For burgers, you can opt for their "Mystic Burger" (our item of choice) - Beyond Burger patty, Mystic 18 sauce, creamy original Chao slice . No one I've interacted with the 4 times I've tried to enjoy a quick bite enjoy their job. Very dissatisfying, this location also doesn't seem on brand for Mcmenamins either. Had lunch here yesterday with a friend. We both ordered burgers and they were absolutely delicious! Tasted like we were at a cookout eating burgers straight off the grill. Our server was so friendly and let us linger to chat well after we were done eating (no one was waiting for our table but we've felt rushed in other places). Dropped in a couple times as we were in the area. There is a lot of parking nearby. I wouldn't say the experience was anything too exciting. The staff was not bad and would serve us food and drink at appropriate times. Each time we visited it was not a busy time, but the staff did seems to keep busy prepping and checking in on the customers that were there. I do like that they had a decorated card for drinks specials that looked creative. We would visit again, but would not be a place we would go out of our way for based on our experiences. read more

This is usually my go to place for a casual lunch or dinner. Great for families. Sunny days the patio is nice. Service is a little slow but the food is always reliable and the staff is always the best. They've upped the menu to add a few more vegan options which is a huge win for me. The interior of this place is nice, the bar is cool with nice wood features and there is a lot of seating. The music they play is fun. We got happy hour smash burgers and tots. The food was pretty good. We ordered a brownie for dessert, it was teeny with a scoop of ice cream and no whipped cream as advertised. It was $12.50. Not worth the price at all. I recommend skipping dessert at this place. Or at least the brownie. The service was bad. Our messy burgers were brought to the table with no napkins. Our drinks were empty a long time before we were approached and even then we had to ask for the refills. No one really checked in on us. We needed to go to the bar to order the dessert and to get our check. Our receipt was brought to us and set on the table and No one thanked us One Star for food. One Star for ambience. That said, when I stopped by for my third time at the Mill Creek location, I wasn't impressed. Service was not good at all for this caliber of a restaurant. The server was not friendly at all. He never refilled drinks until flagged down. The water pitcher remained empty for the entire meal. The burgers were unseasoned and OVERCOOKED! The best thing was Cajun tater tots. Will not be returning. Heard great things about other locations from family members. Went in for dinner tonight at 6:15. First time at this location, but I've been to a lot of McMenamins over the years. The Barman was really wound up. Within a couple of seconds he was freaking out because my (obviously) disabled son was headed towards the bar area rather than the restaurant area. He acted like he was going to explode. We are talking three feet in the wrong direction. NO need for the drama. He's in the wrong business. A terrible first impression. We found a table (it's self serve here) and brought menus with us. A server came over and asked us for our beverage order. After quite a while she came back. The soda was both warm and almost flat. She took our order. I ended up paying 20.00 for a salad (southwest - no protein) in a soup bowl. Chicken strips and tots that I think they charged 27.00 for!! And a bowl of chicken soup. And the one kids soda. These are stadium prices! The place was nearly empty, but had lots of floor staff. Almost one server per table. Our food took a very long time to come out. The chicken strips looked and tasted like they came out of a freezer bag - store brand- from Fred Meyer. They were flat, not plump or juicy. The breading was like sand mixed with sawdust. The tots were good. They are tots! The soup was good. The salad was not something I would order again - and an embarrassing value. It was definitely not a dinner sized salad - but it was priced as if it were. This meal for two was 58.00 before gratuity. A remarkably terrible value. A rip off in fact. Highway robbery, even. Friendly staff. Fast service. Great food. This is a great pub! We stopped in here as our last stop for the night to complete our Seattle passport page. Our page prize was a burger so that became our dinner. We decided to split 1 burger and get soup as well. Our server took our drink and food orders quickly after we chose a seat. I always appreciate it when we ask to split something that they bring it already cut in half and on 2 separate plates! Great service!! The burger was cooked perfectly and the soup was really good too. We also ordered the soft pretzel sticks with cheese. It was served hot and they were delicious. Met a friend here for a weekday dinner, but mostly to visit and catch up. I am eating a pretty restrictive diet so I ordered simply. I ordered tonic water with lime which may have been my mistake, it came sweetened which I didn't expect. I asked for a non-sweetened carbonated water and was told I want soda water. Okay. The waiter was helpful and got me set-up quickly. I ordered a dinner salad with chicken (the Aztec salad) and it arrived as ordered (no tortilla strips by request). It was on the small side, a medium bowl with mostly mixed greens, a few cherry tomatoes, some black beans, and a spicy chipotle dressing. The chicken was really well prepared and seasoned but was probably just a 4 oz serving. All in all it tasted great and was just on the small side. This seems like a classic neighborhood place, families with kids, couples and other groups came in and seemed to enjoy the comforting food that was on the menu. There is a nice bar with patrons around during our visit. The server was friendly but not overly chatty, a good thing. He was very good about leaving us after we had finished and paid for our meal. I will note that McMenamins was not too busy on Tuesday, a good thing for visitors. I like that there is mostly booth seating. Looks like they have a great patio for warmer weather dining! read more

I like McMenamins! It's my go-to bar in Mill Creek if I'm in the area. The staff is always great, friendly and they seem to enjoy their jobs for the most part. I really have no complaints about the food or the drinks. This is a great stress-free spot to enjoy a nice drink and unwind a bit. It's been awhile since i felt this ignored in a restaurant? Never even offered me a refill of my coffee for my entire meal. Never checked to see if I liked my food. Dad's burger was so so and my Thai bowl dry and plain. Had to find somebody to bring me more sauce after that I had to go find somebody for my coffee and bring us a bill. I didn't plan on eating here tonight but I'm glad that I did. Coming here is bittersweet because my late husband and I spent countless Saturday (and sometimes Friday and Sunday) nights here, enjoying late night happy hour. Tonight I was craving a corn dog so I was really happy that Scooby Snacks are available! SO much better than Sonic, and honestly about the same drive. I was a little disappointed that they no longer have Mac and Cheese on the menu, but maybe they'll bring it back with a little persuasion. The service tonight was a little slow, but the great food made up for it. I'm surprised how expensive this place has gotten. A room beer, basket of Cajun Tots and an order of Scooby Snacks were $32 with tip. The good news is that I have a ton of leftover food, so I'll get at least two more meals out of it. That being said, I love this place and plan to come here more often; especially at night. It's quiet and the music is great. I love relaxing in a booth reading or even coloring. I'm very impressed with the improvements to the outside of this location (it's at the end of a strip mall), because it's light and bright so I felt safe being here alone. Came in for a quick lunch and decided on their fish and chips. It was good. Their tarter sauce is excellent! Fish had a nice batter that was fried to the perfect golden crispness. I also had a cup of their good honest soup which was Hungarian Mushroom. It was good as well. The coleslaw was ok, not my thing though. I also ordered an Abiding Dude which is like a White Russian. I prefer ciders and have thoroughly enjoyed them while the husband always loves ordering the flights to be able taste a little bit of everything. Most of all, I love their tots.
