Setting: It's honestly hard to find a good place to bowl in the greater Seattle area. We were thinking of going to a bowling alley close to downtown Seattle but that place was 3x the price of this place so my husband and friends decided to drive up to this place in Kenmore. Kenmore Lanes is very much the classic suburban bowling alley that fulfills what I think of as a "typical" bowling alley. It has numerous lanes, the old-school appearing scoring system, and the greasy but delicious food. There is plenty of free parking and despite going on a weekend, it was not very full. Food: There is food inside the bowling alley with fries, nachos, burgers, etc. There is nothing special about it but it hits the spot as you bowl. Value: The prices were very fair, especially when compared to the much more expensive bowling alleys closer to Downtown Seattle. I don't remember the exact pricing but both games and shoe rentals were cheap. One of my biggest criticisms of the place is that their prices are not very evidence on their website. That's definitely something they should fix because the cheaper prices are definitely one of the draws. Service: Nothing special. We were having issues with our alley and the scoring wasn't working appropriately. It took roughly 10 minutes to get fixed and we had to ask the front desk multiple times. Unfortunately, this is what we expect from most bowling alleys as I've never really experienced great customer service from any alley. Other: Their COVID precautions were not very strict. There was no hand sanitizer anywhere and some people wore masks but most people did not. That felty a little sketchy especially given that people were eating and bowling and sharing germs by touching bowling balls. I'm not sure how well they clean the bowling balls honestly. read more

I went here with two other people, a small group for bowling and better. My feet were killing me from roller skating an hour before, so I mainly watched them played while drinking. They have some cheap prices for a game of bowling. The attendees were attentive, I've noticed with a lane over that kept have issues with their lane. Maybe the place needs an upgrade on their equipment. Their computer entering the names were sticky and didn't function correctly for us and the joy stick was way too sensitive as well as the enter button. The tables were also sticky with old food and beer stained. It needed a major swipe down. But getting pass those much needed update and cleaning, my small group looked like they had a great time bowling. read more

I had to fully redownload this app just to leave a review because I was so dissatisfied with my experience. We waited two hours for a lane, as expected on a Saturday night- and decided to check out the arcade. A decent chunk of those games are out of order...and an even bigger chunk of them are out of order with no sign or indication that it doesn't work at all. I lost a solid few dollars in tokens for nothing. I have been to several different bowling alleys in my life, not once have I been denied using bumpers before. I can't say any of my interactions with the employees were particularly positive but being told rudely the bumpers are for "little kids only" takes the cake...adults who suck at bowling also need bumpers. It's not fun without bumpers. why, Honestly, does it matter how old I am? My skills are equivalent to a ten year old. The lanes are outdated. For example, sometimes it would not drop all 12 of the pins when it reset. A pin was just in the gutter. The tables were sticky. Everything felt pretty dirty. there was a lack of balls, Many of the balls didn't even have a number printed on them. There was no music playing for almost the entire time we bowled. I could keep going, I'll spare you. At every turn I was more and more disappointed. I will never be wasting $75 at this place again, it will be much better spent at literally any other bowling alley. - The only highlight of this trip to Kenmore Lanes was the French fries. Kenmore Lanes is a solid place to go bowling. Their prices are great with many specials. I went on a Friday night, and it was $12.50 for three games (per person) plus $3.65 per shoe rental. One of their best deals is Sunday thru Thursday nights from 9 p.m. until midnight--it's $1 per game per person (not including the shoe rental). The place has a nice bar, which almost made me forget I was at a bowling alley. There's pool tables and drink specials that make it pretty affordable. Food isn't great, but it's cheap! There is also an arcade and scratch ticket area. The bowling alley itself is everything I'd expect. True, it's not Lucky Strike luxury, but you'll still have the same fun without breaking your wallet. It also doesn't seem to attract the high school crowd like Tech City does in Kirkland with their black light dance party bowling. Overall, I would say this is my go-to bowling place and look forward to returning. read more

It's a great location and place to bowl. We (4 adults and 4 kids 10 and under) had so much fun and we would like to go back for sure. We ordered cheese burgers and they tasted great even though it took so long. I recommend taking some food and drinks with you especially if you have kids. read more

I've been going to Kenmore lanes since I was 17. I'm 37 now. I've seen many Phases of Kenmore lanes. Including the casino. I've seen people come and go, Andy was my favorite rip. That being said in the last year the food has taken a step up. If you're in the mood for bar food it really hits the spot. I recommend the buger dip ( and add Jalapenos) drinks are reasonably priced for the area. And 50 lanes can't beat that. I'd like to give a special shout out to Mathew who usually works where you order food. He has a great attitude, funny, helpful, and really good at what he does. I am beyond saddened by the experience of my sons 6th birthday here, our entire party was shocked by the poor customer service by the staff. When we reserved a spot about four weeks ago nobody had mentioned to us that we could not bring food into the building from outside and we had gone out of our way to pick up pizza from Costco and our personal cake that we made at home. If we would've known we could've ordered pizza here we would've done so but none of the staff had addressed any of the snacks or drinks we brought in until our party had begun. When we first got here we had less than 10 minutes nine minutes on the dot to set up our table at that point I took initiative to ask the party ahead of me if it would be OK for us to set our table they agreed and said it was totally fine. Then a staff with black hair and a mustache probably in his early 20s or 18 years old Was extremely rude and unfriendly and confrontational and had told me after setting everything up I had to move a few lanes down so I did. Then I had to deal with a woman with really short hair that was not very feminine looking who was screaming at my table for bringing in Costco pizza she then shut down our lanes for our party and did not allow us to bowl for the entirety of our party ruining my six year olds birthday. She did not offer a refund she did not want to accommodate or let us do something different so that we could stay. So our party decided to spend money on the arcades since we weren't able to bowl we were so embarrassed and mortified of how she screamed at us in public and in front of our small children. The staff was truly awful and charged me for a group or 10 for 2 hours. I am so sad that Ken Marlene's has been here for so long and a part of many of our childhood for them to treat us so poorly on my son special day I truly cannot believe that this was how our birthday party ended up going I really hope that we can speak with the owner as the staff did not want to release that information I will continue to let people know about my experience very disappointing. read more

Classic. These old bowling alleys (especially with the open ceiling having exposed glulam/wood/steel arc beams) are timeless, rare and hopefully fight the good fight of time. This spot ain't half bad; if anything it feels like the good ol' standard of an older alley. The outside hasn't really changed since the pre-Tron days; retro diamond red shapes adorn the roof curvature (albeit unevenly). This alley is spacious at 50 lanes, though! Older carpentry and furniture but seems to be kept in decent shape. Pro shop looks solid. The arcade is a mix of recent and old for a smaller area. I got here between 8a-9a for a pre-roadtrip workout (sadly, they posted signs showing hours changing soon; not sure if seasonal or permanent). The front desk seemed indifferent but ok. Spotted me the Lane 43 and off I went. He mentioned service mic is available by dialed/punching in "222". Huh, interesting! The console is peculiar, as well - I've never seen this type before with the joystick. Not bad stuff; standard flat screen scoring monitors. 1 star deduction is perhaps just my preference but these synthetic lanes and/or oil pattern (plus funky old AMF[?] pinsetters and pin action) gave me some weird ball reactions, compared to alleys like Daffodil, ACME, TechCity and Bowlero. Bowling tangent: then it dawned on me. The arc beams reminded me of an old by-gone era down in SeaTac. There used to be a vintage cinema and attached bowling alley called (I think) Lewis & Clark Cineplex & Bowling Center. That alley was lit! ...literally not pop-culturally (cuz it was well-lit, airy, spacious and nice with their last renovation). I briefly bowled there as a kid. Sadly, *RIP* 1950's to mid-2000's. Kenmore conjured up memories therefore cool points added; plus it's a great neighborhood alley for the area. Keep it goin' guys. read more

Staff would not let my disabled daughter play with bumpers because she is older than 10. I was told it was company policy that no one over age 10 gets to play with bumpers. This is a large bowling alley that is pretty well maintained. Food and drinks can be served at the lanes and are pretty decent. Unfortunately they have league nights on some weekends so if you're looking for a rainy evening plan, call ahead and make sure they have lanes open to the public. Twice now I've wanted to go on a Saturday evening and could not. They sometimes have good deals available on Groupon, but make sure to read the fine print, as those can only be used at certain times. If you're looking for somewhere to get fresh air and exercise right now, I highly recommend Kenmore Lanes. I know, the irony. Kenmore lanes reopened two weeks ago and are taking every precaution to keep guests and staff safe in their vast and well ventilated space. Masks are worn at all times by everyone, and everything is extra sanitized. The closure has hurt business pretty bad. We had ALL 50 beautiful lanes to ourselves yesterday. We nicely asked to change the lane (5pple) to other side of the ally, because one side was too crowded, but the guy said if you don't like it GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, in a very aggressive way. It was packed but to figure for a Saturday night. Game options (besides bowling or their arcade area) 3 pool tables and some dart boards. We were able to grab one of the last tables, the bar itself is in okay shape. You have the occasional light bulb out. The staff were fantastic and kind even with how busy they were. They had a great selection of local beer and even my favorite cider from locust in Woodinville, as well as hard alcohol and more mainstream beers. I got a dirty Shirley (like a Shirley temple with vodka for those who know what a Shirley temple is...think of a cherry 7-up) and their Western burger with shoe string fries. I wanted to comment on Marty Cocking customer service . I bowl League on Tuesday nights . I see him always have great service to all customers. He works the front desk and he makes sure the League bowlers are staying up and running ,fixing scores,no ball, dead wood, ect. Then people coming in wanting to bowl. What a zoooo, Him and there team are freiki.g great. When I first met my now husband, we had our first date at Kenmore Lanes, we sat in the bar and enjoyed a drink and dinner. Every single year on our anniversary we come back to Kenmore Lanes and sit at the same table. It just so happens that every year we have had Jamie as our server, we were shocked that every year she remembers us and she always makes it a point to ask us how we're doing and asks us about our cats! She really take pride in her customers, and always makes us feel welcome and wanted. We look forward to seeing her every anniversary. Kenmore Lanes is what you'd expect from an old dumpy bowling alley. They have several lanes and its not difficult to find a lane to bowl on. The selection of balls to use is small and they are in poor condition. I felt the need to wash my hands several times throughout the afternoon there. There is a food stand with several frozen, then fried options. We chose not to partake. Plenty of pull tabs with an occasional gambler bellying up to the counter to play. The lounge was dark and dungy. I was uncomfortable there. It could use a facelift/remodel or at very least a good cleaning. read more

Service is great, food and drink is delivered to your lane amply and they are quick at unclogging behind the lanes and getting gutter balls cleared. They're front desk is awesome, they have an expectation where as long as you respect the business they will cater to your needs. Marty is great and takes care of his customers making everyone feel like a Kenmore local. If you want to bowl anywhere north of bellevue or, south of Everett this is the place Kenmore lanes gets you a lane quick and makes you enjoy your time there. STAY AWAY...RUDE STAFF We paid $25 a week ago for the reservation of a bowling lane for 11am today but showed up around noon as we thought the reservation was for noon. At that time, there were several open lanes but the staff said we need to pay for the lane separately and the $25 we paid for reservation is gone and cannot be used towards game purchase. We admitted our fault that we were late but since there was no waiting line and a bunch of lanes were pretty open, we requested them if we could use that $25 for the game purchase with a hope that they would consider it with courtesy. The issue here is not about the money but how they dealt with it. The staff and especially the manager were rude and she didn't bother to respond politely. The management here should learn how to treat their customers respectfully. We will never ever visit this place and will share our bad experience with our friends too. STAY AWAY from this rude staff/ management if you want to deserve respect. You lost a customer. read more

Tried to come bowl with my family on a Saturday afternoon. Was told to come back at 7 for open bowl and that it was first come, first serve. Defensive staff at the front desk said their was a 2 hour waitlist when we arrived to bowl at 6:58. When I tried to clarify their mistake (was told at 3 that there was not a waitlist) I was told not to "come at" the person on staff. Fun place wonderful for work get togethers food and drink we're pretty good quite busy on Friday nights cause of leagues however we were able to get in there under less than an hour to our lane shoes felt comfortable however the downside is I wish they had bowling balls for your hands size every time I got a ball it felt bigger than my actual hand size also another downfall the parking is way to tight and not a whole lot of spots however still a fun place and would love to come back read more

After 15 years of bowling here on and off, I will not be bowling here again for quite some time. Cons: Bowling lane approaches super dry. I pulled something my 4th throw yet I've been bowling 20-30 games a week at other locations for months. I told the front desk about it and they said, "ya the lanes are old" so they moved me to 2 new lanes and they all had terrible approaches as well. I actually started at kenmore lanes 15+ years ago when it was a great place to bowl. Now, approaches are way too dry (they only condition the approach every six months according to employees), the lanes are peeling, and they bought a super nice oiling machine years ago but don't seem to use it because I have to throw urethane coverstock standing left of center (right hand bowler). That's ridiculous. Also, the pro shop is never open except via appointment. Lastly, the bar tenders are unfriendly except for the blonde runner woman. It's a bowling alley, not a rejuvenation spa or a cure for cancer. As bowling alley's go, it's okay, and they have better prices than Robin Hood lanes, for example. The prices vary with the season and time of day. For example, if you arrive after 11:00 p.m. the lanes are $1.50 - $2.00 each game, but if you show up at 3:00 on a Holiday, the price skyrockets to $4.00 a game. The lanes are somewhat inconsistent. One is well oiled, the other is not. The ball doesn't break on one, and on the other it breaks too much and rolls in the opposite gutter. I find that frustrating as I am a competent bowler. Lanes 40 and up are hardly used as much, meaning the pins are newer and don't like to fall down unless you have a 45-lb. ball or a rocket launcher. I can't even pick a favorite lane here because they are all so unpredictable, made worse by the fact that I am not a fan of plastic laminates. I prefer real wood lanes, and the only place left that I know of that has real wood lanes is Lynnwood bowl. They have a kitchen here with short order items that are half-way decent, and a good selection of lottery games and pull tabs, if you're into that sort of thing. This place gets packed in the fall and winter, and sometimes you can't always get a lane during that time. read more

This place is amazing and has been there for past 60 years, pretty impressive, right ? We party of four took a groupon package and it was worth every penny. We went there on a saturday evening and still was able to get a lane with no delay. They also gave us a complimentary pitcher of Coca Cola. I'm a fan of this place. The bowling alley is just ok (pretty standard, 2 people, 2 games each, 2 shoe rentals = about $20), but the food in the little lounge/dive bar attached is actually pretty darn good. They make this turkey, swiss, bacon, grilled sandwich...something about it is just perfect! Their tater tots are crispy and excellent too. They don't use Heinz ketchup, which is a big negative in my book, but after a beer or two I can tolerate Hunts. I think its really the service that makes it work. Place is just all around okay. Lanes are in good shape, but none of them have the same oil pattern. It's odd, the ball reacts differently on each lane, so rolling consistent games can take some getting used to. It's packed every weekend with high school kids coming in for "cosmic" bowling, so if you are looking to avoid lots of screaming, shouting, and people just standing around not bowling, come in during the week. Casino is a joke, drive the extra 30 minutes in any direction and hit Tulalip, Muckleshoot, or Snoqualmie. Not a bad place to roll a few games and have a few drinks. read more

We went with a couple of friends and enjoyed our evening. This was our first time here and we didn't know that this place is 60 years old! It was evident from the restroom fixtures which were pretty old fashioned. They have a lot of bowling lanes and we found an empty one without any wait. We used a groupon deal which was fabulous and I highly recommend it. They have a lot of food and drink options. The only glitch was that our bowling lane had some technical errors every few minutes so we had to get it fixed from the counter every time. Overall, its a pretty busy place on weekends.
