I have taken my mower here before when it was under old ownership so I was hoping that it still had the same quality of service as it did two years prior. I was able to take it that day. It it took 3 weeks for it to be done and back in my hands. Sales staff was friendly and they originally quoted me one price that seemed high and when I went to pick it up it was considerably less. I paid for and ordered a John Deere BM23309 CVC Guard kit. I got to pieces of metal that would never fit or be usable. Not a CVC guard kit as indicated. Over $176.00 wasted with shipping. read more

I was to have my rider serviced and new blades put on it they had it for three weeks and when I got it back it wouldn't start but it did before. They came back picked it up the fix it that's was three days ago no call back. I tried to call them and it would hang in every time I called them. I don't like what is going on with this no good number to call them back. read more

One star? No actually no stars. I remember years ago when my father and I would deal with Ray Mutton on Illinois Road. His business was surrounded by houses where my childhood friends lived and we grew up. Ray ran a good business and provided good customer service. Flash forward 50 or 60 years to present day. Nobody is minding the store. I recently moved back to Fort Wayne after retiring from my job in Indy. I have a Troy-Bilt lawnmower that I personally service each year. I received a coupon in the mail for a service special. $58.50 which included a new blade. So while there was still snow on the ground I took it to the Lima Road location. They estimated the work would be complete in about two weeks but said it might be sooner. Well after almost a month and several phone calls I got my mower back today. The snow on my lawn had now turned into a jungle. The $58.50 soon turned into $84.55 as they charged for filter, spark plug, oil, and chemicals & supplies. The mechanic made notes on the invoice making remarks like he had to clean the underside of the deck so the blade would turn. Isn't that what a cleanup is all about? He then said he sharpened the blade and installed it correctly. Nice but what about my new blade? The wheels are beginning to show no tread so I had asked for them to be replaced. So glad they asked me first if I really wanted them. The price? $20 per wheel or $80 for a set of wheels. OMG. I told them to forget the wheels, I could probably get a better deal at Belle Tire! I loaded up the mower in my van. It was still soaking wet. Couldn't even take the time to dry it off. Just no pride in their work. I took a peek at the underside and noticed there was still grass and debris and most importantly my old blade. I went back inside the store to inquire about it and the response was, "Oh, that coupon? That was a Toro coupon so no blade for a Troy-Bilt." That was total BS as that coupon came out of a Mad Money coupon mailer. I will never go back to Mutton's. They close a 5pm during the week and close at 2pm on Saturday and closed Sundays. It's no wonder they can't get much work done but if I had employees like that, I wouldn't want to stay open much longer either. So to you, Ray Mutton, I must say that the business you built is gone. read more

Do not take any equipment to this company for repair. They have had my riding mower for 6 weeks!!! Every time I call they tell me they're waiting for parts. It's a craftsman, which I believe is made in the US. Help!!! What do I do at this point. read more

I am happy to report that after having spoken to the owner of this Southwest Fort Wayne store, that the issue has been resolved. I must say that I do not like to resort to negative ratings, but I feel that we were forced to do so based on the situation at hand. Awful service department and customer service, will never get service or purchase anything from Mutton. They don't care about customers. I will spread the word to family and friends. I signed up for yelp for the first time just to post about this poor business. Buy your power equipment and get service done elsewhere. read more

Completely overpriced. Lost our business bc of mediocre customer service and shady pricing. Even after we asked about discounts or promotions available, they said they had none. We went online and saw they had a promotion we could use. Called back and they gave us attitude about applying it to the work they had already done. Lesson learned. Lost us as customers. Found a new place 16 miles away from Mutton who charges less than half of what Mutton does for the same amount of work. I wouldn't go back to Mutton for even a screwdriver to be serviced. read more
