They had 3 tellers behind the counter but one couple was trying to do something with their mortgage, one guy was ordering business checks & another guy was trying to do something with his house. I feel that some of these things should be done in one of their little offices & not @ the counter. I almost walked out due to the long wait but knew I would need to come back to cash my check so I stayed & waited. The teller did apologize for the wait (I didn't even comment on it) so that was nice. I did tell her I had thought about leaving. I had my Mom waiting in the car so I hated to also have her sitting there waiting for me for something I thought was going to be quick. After endless requests for "one more" document, one week before our closing date they decided: Um, actually, no money for you. We ran into YCFCU where we had no previous ties, told the manager our story and he said, "Bring in all your information and I'll see what we can do." Two days later they approved us and we closed on our townhouse in York on the scheduled day. I immediately withdrew all my money from the first bank and put it in YCFCU. They have been so helpful ever since. They suggested Kasasa and I didn't have to do a thing and now I make extra interest money each month. I make mobile deposits with my cell phone every week instead of trying to find time to go into the building. My checks used to build up until there were 20 or more by the time I got in there. I have never paid a fee for anything. I used to get charged by the former bank for all kinds of random things such as not making any transactions for a month. What?! I get punished for that? Credit unions are the only way to go and this one is WONDERFUL!

I was under 18 but had been making deposits with them daily and they insisted I have a co-signer due to my lack of credit history. Instead of working with me they allowed me to close 6 accounts and take out all my money. I came to Northeast Credit Union with no accounts there, no credit history and being 17 years old and asked for a credit card which they issued me. I have been there ever since and no matter what branch I go to everyone if very friendly and I have never had a complaint about anything whatsoever. It easy to get answers and their online banking is easy to set up and use. This is as good as it gets.

It took them 72 hours to open my accounts because they couldn't understand why I needed 2 checking accounts, and called me to confirm. 1st red flag!! This is a credit union so all of the account #s you are given are EXACTLY the same with the exception of letter codes at the end of the #. When I contacted customer service for assistance with this to setup direct deposit they "didn't know why" all my accounts had the same account #. I was bumped to a supervisor who informed me to use the MICR #. 2nd red flag!! Payday comes, no direct deposit. Needless to say I was done with this bank by then, so I requested to have all 3 accounts closed 4x before I received confirmation they were closed. THEN out of curiosity I login to see if my accounts are still open, and there was a fee charged for overdraft! I'm sorry, what??? I sent an online message that they needed to reverse the fee and close my accounts. 5th request. They replied they reversed the fee as a "one time courtesy". Umm hello this was bank error! Then as you guessed it, I requested for my accounts to be closed for the 6th time. Now we wait........ This is the worst banking experience I've ever had and I've worked in bank management for over 20 years. Just WOW!!! Stay far away!!!

They're oriented toward small business and everybody I've met is friendly. Free lollipops, too. My condo ass'n was looking for a new bank and we thought about Centrix but they're closed on Saturdays and that was a deal breaker. Centrix is not an exciting place but who wants excitement or drama in the financial industry? Boring companies are way better than Washington Mutual & Lehman Brothers.
