Seriously? Why does this place get so many good reviews? Have these reviewers actually ever had good Greek food??? Horrible! I ordered take out. I waited at one of the tables with my mother. My food was placed in a plastic bag on the counter. The ridiculous girl that took my order never notified me that my order was ready. So there I sat for a good amount of time. It was not so busy. I think there was another family seated dining in and another to go order (who waited at the bar and came in after me but left before me). My mother said that's probably our order sitting there, but I thought it couldn't be because obviously the girl would tell me. Not!!! I walked up and asked how much longer and she was like huh? And she checked the bag sitting there and said oh this is yours. No apology or anything. I stared at her clearly irritated and she stared back as if I were the one with the problem. I told her that was sitting there for a long time. No response from her. She continued staring at me like I had an issue. Seriously the crappiest service ever. The food was not hot anymore and soggy! I ordered the buffalo shrimp which looked like it came out of a TV dinner! Soooo gross I couldn't eat. The falafel pita was mediocre at best (falafel barely had flavor). I order extra hummus (again no flavor and charged extra) and extra tzatziki, mediocre and also extra charge), my mother ordered the lamb gyro which she said had zero flavor. Expensive mistake and angering service. Avoid this place at all cost. You want better food of this kind? Go to Mam's downtown. Cheaper and better. read more

You have to understand this is my favorite type of restaurant. That being a mom/pop/family restaurant. For me to give 5 stars requires well prepared food that is flavorful and outstanding service with genuine interest in how I'm enjoying the food. Absolutely outstanding! Really enjoyed the food. Their business must suffer from location. You're either local or searched for this type of restaurant. If you like looking for unique, non-chain or touristy restaurants you really need to consider Kennedy Cafe. I don't think you'd be disappointed. read more

We were staying across the street at the Marriott and decided to avoid the craziness of downtown Key West and found this hidden gem. We ordered the Mediterranean Sampler and it was sublime. The eggplant was cooked to perfection (and I hate eggplant), the pita was soft and chewy and the dolmas were spot on. My husband had the gyro sandwich which he said was fresh and tasty. I had the linguine and meatballs. It was good and the portion was satisfying to even the hungriest of diners. My kids had the chicken fingers and fries and loved them. The service was top notch. Wow! What a find! I had a delicious fish sandwich after a long day of work, and it came with fries that were super tasty. I know that's not the hardest thing in the world to do, but when you're starving, delicious fries can really top off a delicious sammich. Not much to say, just delicious, no frills food. read more

We had breakfast. Egg sandwiches are sort of "pannini'd" on Cuban bread (naturally in kw) and come in the usual combinations. I had a salami egg and cheese which I habe not come across before but it was quite tasty. Salami was of substantial thickness and was kind of crisped at the edges giving it a nice bite. Nothing ground breaking about the breakfast menu but everything my party had was good. Sort of a stark looking plaza and definitely not in the mainstream part of town. Service was good. read more

Do yourself a big favor and EAT HERE! My family visits Stock Island/Key West for about 2-4 weeks every June. We love checking out local favorites and aren't afraid to venture off the beaten path. The name of this cafe doesn't give any clue to the rich diversity of its menu. From Mediterranean to Greek to Russian, this place has it covered in both food and drink. Both times we had spectacular service and so much food!! This restaurant takes incredible pride in what they prepare. The fresh bread was to die for...so anything we ordered with bread (from fried pizza dough balls to pita to pizza to sandwiches) was that much better. We read the reviews on yelp and thought of trying this place. We drove by and saw not a soul, the place looked deserted so we drove off. Since it was 10 and most places close much before that, we were left with Little choice. So we came back. And we are glad we did. The food was 'out of the world'. And these words coming from my moody foodie husband is a big thing. We ordered gyro and lamb pilav. They were both excellent. Superb quality meat, very well done. Very good food and fast delivery. The menu for this place is huge and so far everything that I have got has been excellent! I have tried their fish sandwich (with their excellent homemade bread), meatloaf with mashed potatoes, cheese toast with bacon, and their Cafe con leche. A gem in a mall you would never expect to find, there are a lot of good restaurants in mid town. Why? Because the dont automatically get walk ins like all the places in old town do, they actually have to compete. But I have to say, after living in KW 5 months, this is in my top 3 favorites. Flavors nice, prepared always with care, quality of produce, far better than you could ever expect, because all of the prices are to impress and bring you back. Trust me you will. I support this restaurant regularly, like their friendly eastern folks. I get the shrimp sub mash, always get some kind of amazing bread for free, and feel super happy to tip the nice servers. I have actually ordered takeout from here many times and enjoyed it. The dining in experience tonight was truly disappointing though. The server didn't write down our order and then forgot it twice. We ended up receiving part of what we ordered but not everything. She never came back to check so we couldn't tell her and she never brought us refills on our drinks so we sat without part of our meals and no drinks for a long time while she chatted with the delivery driver. There were only three tables in the place. The other part that was bad was it was filled with flies. We spent the whole time trying to defend ourselves from flies and waiting for our server to help us. The food is usually a solid three stars here but the service and flies were just too much for me tonight. read more

This place was empty when we visited, but we had the nicest Russian waitress. The food here is interesting. It seemed very authentic, and as such our palates were not accustomed to it. Everything was very natural and fresh. Almost no salt, and not spicy. I think if you want to try something legitimate, this is a great place and the servings are quite large. We are here visiting....myself and two teenagers. We spent the day biking and we're feeling tired and really didn't wanna go out for dinner so we browsed some reviews and got take-out from this spot. We ordered a Hawaiin pizza, stuffed shells, chicken parm and then Uzbek bread. Everything was sooo soooo good. We are staying in a hotel and they made sure to ask if we needed paper plates and utensils, salt/pepper and napkins. The food was ready when we got there and was piping hot. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. If I lived in the area, this would be my go to place for pizza! read more

This place was great! We stopped on our way into Key West and boy am I glad we did! We had the falafel appetizer and between the three of us had a gyro, a gyro plate (with some of the most delicious rice I have ever had), and the lasagna. It was all wonderful! The tzatziki sauce was some of the best I've ever had and the tomatoes were so juicy, ripe and bright red!! The rice on the gyro platter had carrots and chickpeas in it and was to die for!! They have huge portions and very friendly staff. The only complaint I have is that they do not offer any sort of kids menu so I had to order a full size order of lasagna for a 9 year old and it was HUGE!! Since we were visiting from out of town and not staying in Key West we had to leave it behind. :-( I highly recommend this place! read more

As soon as our group walked in, it smelled amazing. The food service quick and the waitress was very friendly. We tried the cheese sticks as an appetizer, as they were delicious. We also ordered calamari and it was the best calamari we have ever had, it was chewy but it also wasn't too crisp. Great fresh made gyros. read more

This is our go to place in New Town. Excellent Mediterranean food at reasonable prices. Try any of the kebabs which come with the delicious rice and Uzbek tomato salad. If you like lamb, try the dumplings (manti). The friendly staff always make you feel at home. read more

I have eaten here several times on my last few visits. The food is surprisingly good and fairly priced. The pizza was also pretty good.

I only had a Greek salad however, it was great. 5 stars if they're served the salad with pita bread rather than a roll.

This Mediterranean restaurant was the best. If you're in Key West, it is well worth your while to visit Kennedy's café. If Yana is your server she is fabulous! If she's not your server and you're not an embarrassing person ask for her. The Uzbek bread was delicious. The food was fresh, varied and unique. Be sure to ask for the Polish beer. Enjoy! read more

Really fantastic, got the chicken shwarma on the uzbek bread with the white garlic sauce. It was the perfect thing after an awful stressful night at the emergency room with my friend who got stung by a sting ray out lion fish. After a long day of travel and an afternoon at the pool, my husband and I were exhausted, and decided to order in. We ordered the gyro platter, farfal, and hummus. Everything was delicious! Very authentic tasting and hardy. The delivery was lightening speed and the driver was very friendly. My only complaint was I called back to order extra sauce, I love the sauce, and they forgot it.
