I came to Dr. Cho's office after going to a different dentist that wanted to charge me $4600+ for 2 root canals (one has been deemed unnecessary by Dr. Cho and an Endo specialist) and 2 crowns (same) plus some filings. $4600+ after my insurance coverage! My dental insurance covers 80% so $4600+ AFTER my insurance coverage is insane. Came to yelp and messaged every dentist in my area for rough quotes. Dr. Cho's office was the ONLY office that responded and I messaged soooo many offices. Jackie was the person to respond to me and she has been such a blessing! She helped my find an endo doctor within my network that has a contract with my insurance AND THAT'S WITHOUT ME EVER BEING IN THEIR OFFICE! The previous doctor wanted $1200 per root canal, the endo I was referred to is $189.80. Jackie literally saved me $1000. That's not where this ends though. After that great news I went back to Jackie to get a quote for the crown and she gave me a rough estimate and encouraged me to come in to see the Dr so he can access what is actually needed. Thank goodness I did that because Dr. Cho did not believe I needed the second root canal and I had that confirmed by the endo specialist. One thing I have to mention is how much I dislike dentist, which is why I have not been in so long. I had a traumatic experience as a child and have not wanted to go back for years. Jackie helped me get through the timid-ness and was so kind the ENTIRE time. Never condescending or rude about my fears. The dental assistant who took my x-rays was also very kind and kept asking me if I was okay the entire time or if I need a break. The patience and compassion this office has is something I've never experienced in a dentist office. Dr. Cho was exactly the same: checking on me, telling me step by step what he was doing and why, and teaching me. I have not gotten the work done at Dr. Cho's office YET. I recently changed from United healthcare to Humana health insurance because of the fact that Humana offers a $3000 dental policy and United healthcare offers a $1500 dental policy. At first it was challenging to find a dentist that is in the network . I called Humana , they gave me 10 names and I checked each Dentist on yelp reviews and after reading reviews about patients who have experience predatory practices and pushing them to take excessive services. I felt very comfortable with the reviews that Dr. Kenneth Cho had on yelp with five star ratings. I proceeded to call and the first person I talked to was Zulema . Her voice was very Customer Service oriented, and I felt that she was listening to my needs and what I was looking for in a dentist. She immediately assured me that she will call and verify my coverage and get right back to me. She left me a voicemail indicating that she had verified the insurance and that she would be calling me in the morning The next day we made an appointment to meet Dr. Cho for a consultation. Zulema greeted us at the front desk and gave a warm welcome ! She gave us paperwork to fill out and assured us it wouldn't be too long before we could see Dr. Cho. She offered us water and asked us to make ourselves comfortable. She called me in first and Zulema proceeded to take the x-rays . Great multitasker front desk, x-ray, technician , finance manager, she's amazing and all with a great positive attitude, which is rare these days. Dr. Cho examined me and was very patient and clear about what he could see for my dental treatment. He explained everything in detail gave options and made recommendations. It didn't feel like he was pushing or belittling . I felt very comfortable and understood the procedures clearly and the amount of time it would take to get to a better state. I liked the way he took the time to show a visual of my situation by using a diagram. Dr Cho is very professional and he is a classic example of integrity and honest practice. When it came to the finances, Zulema explained in detail what we were paying and I was amazed to see that Humana was covering 98% of my work ! After talking to my husband he was very pleased with his experience as well. The the last time I seen a dentist the charges were double ! I immediately text my insurance agent to let her know that I was very pleased with Dr. Cho and Humana plan that she helped me select. I recently learned from my primary care provider that I had TMJ. The dental office I had been going to for the last three years notified me that they could not help me and to search for another dentist. I called Dr. Cho's office on the weekend, where I left a message regarding the issues I was having. I received a call on that following Monday and was told that Dr. Cho does handle patients with TMJ and an appointment was made. When I arrived at Dr. Cho's office, I noticed they had a sign on the desk that said "Welcome Audrey." The waiting room was very nice, organized, clean and playing some great music. The front office staff were friendly, compassionate and helped with filling out all of the paperwork needed. After completing the forms, I was directed to a dental room to be seen. I found the room to be very clean, organized, uncluttered and very sterile. A Dental tech, took x-rays and photographs. I didn't have to wait long as I did with my prior dental office. Most times, in that office, I would wait in the dental chair between a half hour to forty-five minutes. Dr. Cho was prompt, professional, very courteous and friendly. He went over the paperwork, x-rays and TMJ issues. His examination confirmed I had TMJ. After my discussion with him about TMJ, I agreed to have him treat me for the disorder and I am glad I did. I now have the appropriate night guard, a lists of foods to avoid, along with other important information needed to help. My swelling is close to being gone, and my pain level is low and not needing to take any prescribed/OTC medications. I'm feeling better and I know that as long as I follow Dr. Cho's medical instructions my TMJ issues will continue to improve. I am very thankful to Dr. Cho and the amazing medical care he has provided. I have selected him to be my primary dentist and consider him one of the best. I went to have a regular check up 5 years ago. They told me I had a lot of cavities and charged me over $5K even with insurance. The staff is very welcoming and nice but I would definitely check what the insurance covers since their billing is either off or they definitely over charge. I loved my time here at this dentist's office! To put it in context: I had not been to the dentist in a few years and was long overdue for a checkup. I'm always a bit more mindful of which dentist's office I choose, because having worked at a dental office before, I know some of the ins and outs of the operations of one and so I pick my dentists a bit more carefully. That being said, after my first visit, I'm very happy that I chose Dr. Cho! The dentist office is very modern--all digital X-rays--and I have to say that my first visit there was probably one of the most detailed and comprehensive visits I've had at a dentist! The staff are all very helpful and upbeat, and some of my lingering questions about my jaw pain, sensitivity to cold, were FINALLY answered here (despite the fact that my previous doctor had made no mention of it before).
