PLEASE! Check your insurance claims. Not sure if the dentist is aware, but I paid close to $850 more than what I needed to pay out of pocket. I had really had tooth sensitivity and got a root canal, recommended by Dr.Cheng. When I came back to get my crown done, Carmen presented two options to me for crowns: porcelain with metal (~$700) and porcelain with zirconia (~$1400). These prices are WITH my insurance by the way. It didn't look right, but I chose metal because it was cheaper. Later I regretted my decision and went for porcelain with zirconia because of the longevity. I spoke to my insurance company to figure out why I had to pay so much out of pocket. They stated, if the only full porcelain option given to you is with zirconia, then the dental office can't charge me for upgraded materials. I was only supposed to pay $490!!! I called Carmen to ask for the itemized invoice. They billed my insurance for porcelain with metal and zirconia separately! I asked her to correct the invoice and she REFUSED because my insurance "doesn't cover porcelain crowns", when it does. They are submitting wrong codes for insurance on purpose and doing shady stuff with billing. It was so weird that they didn't provide itemized invoices are paying, just a piece of paper with the amount. Make sure to check! read more

I've been driving by this office for ever and never noticed it. The offices are immaculate with up to date equipment. The staff are friendly and engaging. Dr Cheng actually articulates what he's going to do. They was no up selling or pressure more costly procedures. If you're someone who is scared of the dentist, I highly recommend going to Dr. Cheng. He communicates well with patients as he works on your teeth so that you know what to expect during any procedure and when the pain/intensity will be over. He makes sure to check up on you and asks if you're okay (which most dentists I know don't even do). Dr. Cheng is very enthusiastic and not stern like most dentists. He's super easy to talk to and ask questions. He doesn't try to scare you into getting things done that aren't necessary. When your teeth are really clean, he will praise you and it feels like a great accomplishment. It's nice to have a dentist who genuinely is happy for you when your teeth are super clean and well-kept. My teeth were actually in bad shape before I got here. I never flossed (which is terrible, I know) and the result of that was I needed a root canal and cavity fillings. My gums used to bleed when the doctor would probe them during my checkups. However, now my gums don't bleed anymore and I floss every day. Dr. Cheng would also give me suggestions on where I needed to brush more. With his advice, I didn't have any tartar or cavities on my most recent visit. The receptionist Carmen is also very friendly. It's easy to schedule appointments here. They pick up the phone quickly and respond fast. There are a lot of appointments available so you don't have to wait too long for one. I also like that it never gets super busy so you never have to wait long. Joseline is a great dental assistant. She is also really nice and does a great job. Another bonus is they will give you a free toothbrush and travel-size toothpaste each visit! You'll never have to buy these ever again lol. Side note: I also needed my wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Cheng gave me a referral to a great oral surgeon. He also never fear mongered me into getting them removed. It was a decision I made on my own and when the time came, he was very supportive. read more

I went in for a routine check-up and cleaning (after far longer since my last one than I should have gone), and I was in and out of there is less than half an hour. I only had to wait for my appointment a couple minutes, and not long until after I was admitted that I was able to meet the doctor. Of course it helped that I take care of my teeth, but Dr. Cheng could be quick, with focus and efficiency, and a warm, jovial nature. Also plenty of parking and a very capable assistant. read more

The staff and dentist is very friendly but as we continued seeing the dentist, side charges and procedures were ordered, but not with my knowledge. I think they try but are not better than basic care. They need to advise people when they are expected a service that has normally been covered to be covered. They wait months later then tell you there is a charge on your account. Just don't operate on the up and up in that regard. Needless to say we are not continuing service. And we have a PPO and their recommended Carrington plan that cost more, done specifically inorder to work with them, but we never seem to get any advantage with them on this -- also they upcharge on Care Credit and seems not quite understandable or honest. read more

I'm been going to Patrick Cheng for years after a coworker recommendation. He has a friendly staff.

Dentist and staff seemed very nice and courteous, but be aware they will make you get some work done that you don't need, and they will tell you that your insurance doesn't cover it and you need to pay out of pockets hundreds of dollars. When I switched over to another dentist, they told me that my teeth were fine. I needed some patch work done, but they just did it for free when I had other stuff done. Not charging $500 out of pocket. Shame on you! read more

Crowns and fillings were poorly done. Came in to tell him that I was having pain. Sent me home with a prescription of pain medication. Not even 6 months later come to find out I needed two root canals and fillings and crowns all had to be redone .... will not ever come back here!! Worst dentist I've ever been too! If you're an adult looking for a pediatic dentist, you have found your dentist. The only insurance we decided to go with an HMO is dental and boy, what a mistake. Dr. Cheng is our designated provider. Granted we chose him but he was the only one in our town. He's a great person, super nice, etc... but the cleaning took less than 10 minutes. I thought it was because I told him I was in a hurry, but my husband had an appointment too and his cleaning was the same. I also thought it was odd that there wasn't a hygenist that did the cleaning as usual. This is also the only dentist (and I've had about half a dozen in my adult lifetime) I've been to that didn't give a dental goodie bag (ie. toothbrush, travel size toothpaste and floss). That wouldn't have bothered me if the cleaning was good, but a very cursory cleaning followed by no goodie bag...hm... read more

Amazing little office. Excellent and quick service! The dentist really explains through his entire cleaning with you so you know what he's doing. I have always had a major fear of the dentist. Haven't seen one in over 10 years until my crown broke on Saturday (front tooth) called Dr. Cheng Monday morning (MLK holiday) and they squeezed me in at 2pm. Had a post inserted and got a temporary crown. Dr. Cheng is the most patient, caring, friendly and efficient dentist I have ever came in contact with. He is now my forever dentist. Dr. Cheng is awesome. I've never had a fear of the dentist but my wallet has. The doctor is kind explains everything, and doesn't suggest treatments just because he needs help making a payment on his boat. The man works efficiently and constantly checks to make sure you are comfortable. Side note I was in for abrasions and cavity. More advanced stuff I have no idea. Try flossing. read more

I went to Dr. Cheng for years. And I sent many friends over too. I thought he was a great dentist. Then I had a problem tooth, he took an x-ray and said it was nothing. So I ignored it. Years later I went to a new dentist, she said i had a bad root canal infection that needed to be fixed immediately. The endodontist said Dr. Cheng should have sent me to a specialist if he couldn't find anything wrong with the tooth I was complaining about. I almost lost the tooth. Now I realize he is a bad dentist, not to catch that. And he put an expensive bridge into my mouth and it didn't last 5 years, he said "oh well, we'll redo it once the insurance says ok". I've had bridges last 30 years with no problems. Putting in another bridge would have cost me more thousands of dollars. I feel his method of operating was to let things go, do things in a crappy way, they make you pay to fix them later. I would not send my cat to him now, after experiencing really good dentists. read more
