The staff was friendly, but what I expected to be a consultation felt more like a push toward having a root canal than a discussion of all available options. After the appointment, I decided to get a second opinion before proceeding with treatment. Two different dental offices requested my 3D CT scan from this office so they could properly evaluate my situation. Both offices told me they never received it. I paid for that scan, and I was trying to make an informed decision about a significant dental procedure. Instead, I found myself unable to get other specialists the information they needed to fully evaluate my case. Whether intentional or not, the result was the same: it made getting a second opinion far more difficult than it should have been. My advice to anyone considering treatment here: if they take imaging, ask for a copy before you leave the office. Do not assume it will be sent later if you decide to seek another opinion. Patients deserve access to their own diagnostic information and the ability to explore treatment options without obstacles. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

A couple of years later I tried again, but this 2nd doctor told me that its root has fractured, so nothing can be done but to extract (which wasn't true as Dr. Johnston told me it's not at first glance...). Although it gave me a constant anxiety for about a year I'm so glad that I kept it and decided to see Dr. Johnston one last time. 3rd time's a charm and it's saved! Hooray!!!! I had just had a root canal a few months before elsewhere and it took 2.5 hours and they did a mediocre job. Dr. Nagel's work healed great and my other dentist who did the bridge was very happy with his work as well. Saw Dr. Greg Nagel for an angry tooth. My dentist gave him a call because I was having pain in a…read moretooth adjacent to a tooth that was extracted and had a subsequent bone graft. The adjacent tooth was very painful and the pain was not getting better. There was a concern that a root canal might be needed. Dr Nagel and his team got me in right away and did testing on the tooth, took a 3D scan and reg X-rays. After thoughtful review and with an understanding of medications I am taking he concluded that all would be ok with time. Use the Advil as needed and time will heal the tooth. He was spot on. I appreciated that he didn't rush into a root canal and he really took the time to assess the situation. He saw me a second time, 10 days later just to make sure all ok. So happy my dentist recommended and personally reached out to Dr Nagel on my behalf. Grateful to both
