I am revising the below review and adding 1 star as the regional manager did reach out to me after…read moreseveral conversations with the store staff and refunded the cost of the brake work that in my opinion was either unnecessary or previously done poorly by Firestone. He stood by the judgement of the store staff but agreed one shouldn't need new brakes after just 8,000 miles. I appreciate that Firestone made the effort to resolve this issue. Not every place would do that so have to give them credit. I have been coming here for over 6 years and have mostly felt this was an honest shop but the last few visits I have seen a big push to up sell and add on services that I am not sure are always needed. The last straw was when I had my wife go in for an oil change and she came home with over $700 dollars of charges. Once again I am not a mechanic so it's a bit hard to dispute but what seemed odd was that they told her she needed new rear brakes, rotors and a change in brake fluid. She got the additional work done but when I looked at old receipts we had Firestone do all that to all 4 wheels 3 years ago. Although 3 years maybe a while ago we only put 8,000 miles on the car in that time. I can't imagine even with hard driving in 8,000 miles we would need all new brakes on the rear. I called the Manager the next day but he said he was not around the day of the service and passed me off on the guy who sold her all the extra services. He swore that company policy is to recommend new breaks after 2 years or 24,000 miles and the rear breaks were wore down to just 2 and 3mm. I find it very hard to believe that even under the most extreme driving conditions after 8,000 miles and 3 years a garage kept car would need all that brake work. The sales guy kept insisting he doesn't up sell and recommend unnecessary services. I unfortunately have lost confidence in this shop and will likely be looking for a new place.

Another Firestone location I would not recommend unless you have money to waste. I scheduled an oil…read morechange, and by the time I picked up my car, I was told I also needed brake work and other repairs. On another visit, I brought my car in because the AC was blowing hot air. They recharged the system, but within a few days it was blowing hot air again. It turned out the compressor was bad, so I ended up wasting money on a recharge without the actual problem being diagnosed first. Avoid unless you have no other choice.

I went in to change the tires on my BMW m240i from 2017…read more 1st: I took the car back and all 4 tires' pressure was off. Around 37psi in the front and 28psi in the back, which are completely wrong considering that on the side of the door it says 35psi front and 40psi back. I talked with a mechanic there and he said to come back another day because the mechanic that installed my tires wasn't there. I told him I had to take a flight and he said it wasn't a problem and i could have come back a later day. 2nd: The vin number said the tires are staggered but i showed the mechanic that my rims and old tires weren't staggered, and he agreed with me and made me buy all 4 new tires the same size. Problem: When I called back complaining about my back left tire being COMPLETELY FLAT he said first that it was because my tires were staggered (he agreed with me that they weren't before the tire change) and then that my rim was bent. I requested the time of exit of the vehicle from the shop and the time of re-entry of the mechanic into the shop so to exclude any joy ride. They tried to change subject multiple times and ultimately told me that they wouldn't have provided it to me. Legal actions have been started to resolve this issue and i will update my review as soon as the verdict comes out. PS: from their responses, I felt like i wasn't the first and only one with this problem, so, after talking with friends that already brought their cars there and further research online, I found out I'm not the only one that had this issue with this particular Malvis store. This store has a long history of joy rides in faster cars so DO NOT BRING YOUR CARS HERE.

I am extremely concerned about the service my daughter received at the Pep Boys location at 2525…read moreUS-22 W, Union, NJ. She brought her 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan in shortly after 12 PM due to a check engine light. She was told the water pump and thermostat/gasket needed to be replaced, and we agreed to the repair. After waiting about five hours, we were then informed that the entire thermostat needed to be replaced, the cost would increase, and the car would need to be kept overnight, with a promised completion time of noon the next day. The next day, the car was not ready as promised, and after additional waiting, the mechanic stated that although the car had been put back together, it was still leaking from the same area they repaired. This raises serious concerns about the accuracy of the diagnosis, quality of workmanship, and overall safety of the vehicle. Since my daughter drives this car, this is especially alarming. We are now seeking a second professional opinion. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location and possibly formal complaint with BBB.
