I went to Ken's last week looking for a muffler for my 2006 Ford Pickup. Spoke to Mike on the phone and he quoted me a great price. I took in that very day. I waited and chatted with Mike and DJ and a couple of the others and all were extremely pleasant. They explained to me and then showed me what they were going to do. This business is VERY good at small repairs and small automobile issues. However, they are not as reliable for the more difficult, expensive repairs, such as working on older vehicles or locating uncommon issues. This wasn't just a one-off event, because I had this same unreliable issues with both a classic American vehicle and also with a newer American SUV. This is a very good shop for mufflers. They were nice. They are reasonable. They are prompt and courteous.

The entire team at kins has always treated as well. They've taken care of our vintage late model Lincolns as well as more modern day.

I brought my BMW in after being told that I needed a new muffler by another mechanic. FYI, a NEW BMW muffler only costs $850 for just the part, not to mention what I would've been hit for labor! Needed a catalytic converter ... GARY the shop manager did not up sell me or "create" any more work than what was actually needed. His price was very fair and reasonable and he had the converter in stock. Because of his this kind of work ethics, I elected to go ahead and have him take care of my rear brakes (they were due) as well. Great job, honest prices, no up sells, fast & friendly service. Went there for the first time today. Gary was fantastic! He checked the muffler problem we were having - which turned out to be something else completely. He even called the dealer and found out the problem was actually covered under our powertrain warranty - and told us to take it to the dealer to get it fixed at no charge! Wow! Thank you for the honesty! We were having AC problems too - he added freon and something that will show if there's a leak - told us to bring it back so he could follow up on the leak (if needed). I really needed a muffler on my car, because I removed everything underneath to straight pipe my catalytic converter. I was in a hurry to leave to Armarello that I barely knew what I asked to take off. It was VERY loud. Thankfully these people here were able to order me a turbo tube for my FRS, and I couldn't have been more thankful to these awesome folks. Took my car to my dealer for an extremely loud, crunching noise for my car. I knew it was related to the exhaust and maybe the gas/fuel injectors but that was all I knew. They took one look underneath and told me the weld connecting the muffler to the car was severed and the muffler was hanging on by a thread. They referred me to Kens Bc they said if they did the repair, it would cost about 9x what Kens would charge to replace the muffler and weld and they knew I wasn't having it. I show up at Kens, told Gary the background. Gary put it up on the lift, took a look at it and said all it needed was a weld, no new muffler at this time and that it might take him about a half hour. Talk about honesty, affordability and fast service. My car no longer sounds like a street racer and feels safe to drive again. Went in to get one thing fixed. Turned into a few more things needing to be fixed which was fine because I could see that but when I picked up my vehicle and I saw an obvious flaw that wasn't there when I dropped it off and they didn't even try to fix the situation instead cast blame that did it for me. Not only that, when it was brought to the attention of the person checking us out they were completely surprised as well because they didn't know about it till they called in the mechanic to ask them about the problem. Then let's not get started on the inspection that makes no sense as to why it failed while taking it somewhere else it passed, LOL, it was just bad service all around. Now I'm scared on the job they did I might have to take it somewhere else just to ensure it was done properly. Wasted more money than I needed to. No bueno. read more

We are from Missouri, bring 19 college kids to Dallas for spring break, We had a tire blow out and rip off our tailpipe, we called Gary , and he was so helpful, we dropped the 30 passenger bus off on Monday afternoon, Jose took us to the train station, they called us the next morning while we were at breakfast, that is was done, we took the train back out and they picked us up. Originally, I thought this shop did a good job fixing my catalytic converter and replacing my shocks. As it turns out, they charged me a 100% markup on the shocks (my fault for not researching before I bought) and fixed the wrong catalytic converter (I have two on my car). When they fixed my exhaust, I thought everything was good due to check engine light going off and my car passing inspection. But, about 9 months later, my check engine light came on again. I didn't bother taking my car back and got it fixed by an entirely different shop. The shop that fixed my car the 2nd time explained how the issue was always with the 2nd converter (not the one replaced by Ken's). The staff was nice but I would not use Ken's Muffler Service again. read more
