I came here based on the positive reviews, but unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I was charged $595 for them to replace 2 sensors and the cabin air filter. The knock sensor cost $150, but the air filter and oil sensor are $15 parts. So I was overcharged big time for a 1-2 hour job. They also told me I needed a new oxygen sensor, power steering pump, and serpentine belt, and they wanted to charge me another $770 to replace those. I got a second opinion from a different mechanic shop, and they couldn't find ANY code from the computer when they plugged in the diagnostic reader. They looked at the power steering pump and told me it was in good shape, I just had some residue from a previous leak that I had fixed in the past. Several months after my first visit the knock sensor code came back, and they said the sensor "had come loose," so they "tightened it back up," whatever that means. Now another few months have gone by, and the code is back again. Who knows if they even changed the sensor in the first place. When I returned and told them the knock sensor was still not fixed they refused to attend me because they saw I had posted a negative review. They were extremely offended that I would not give them 5 stars. Normally they offer all customers coupons and discounts in exchange for a 5 star review...which explains why the actually have positive reviews. However, this is a dishonest way to do business. I would not recommend this shop. PV Auto does a much better job for less money and with integrity. read more

I called Randy because of the reviews and asked if I could pay him just to inspect and evaluate my 2014 Range Rover Sport as I was not sure how much I wanted to invest in the car. I called Randy after the dealer recommended literally pages of work in total costing as much as the care is worth. A few of these items recommended were listed as 'critical' but one repair in particular made no sense which made me suspicious of the whole estimate. The morning of my appointment, I sat in Randy's small but comfortable waiting area for 90 minutes as Randy's team evaluated my car. I had the unexpected benefit of observing the consistent stream of repeat customer's coming in to drop off their cars and watch how Randy dealt with each of them. It was quickly apparent that Randy's whole business is built on treating people fairly and the repeat business that comes from customer loyalty.......and then, 90 minutes later, Randy came in to the waiting area and said, 'we're done, you're good to go". I said 'great, what are the things that need to be done?', his answer 'nothing, it's a 10 year old car showing normal wear and tear but nothing that he would recommend 'today''. I questioned him based on the recommendations from the dealer, thanked him for the inspection, and after a little awkward silence, asked him how much I owed him for his time on the inspection.....his answer 'nothing, we evaluate cars all the time and get paid when we repair something, you're good to go.....please come back when you do need something'. By the way, the Dealer charged me $229 for the commission oriented inspection recommending 5 figures in repairs. read more

After A few bad experience with 2 different Chevrolet dealerships, I searched Yelp for a local mechanic and found Love Field Auto. I called and spoke with Kevin and he listened as I explained the problem with my car and advised I bring it in and they would take a look at it. One of my headlights had burned out that the dealership replaced just 6 months prior. My car is designed so the front bumper has to be removed to replace the headlight. Love Field Auto fixed it and for more than $100 less than the dealership quotes. A few months later my car started running rough and a warning light came on. I took my car in to Love Field Auto and Kevin had it checked out and determined it was a solenoid switch. My car was ready later that day and good as new. Great job! Since then, I had new tires put on my car and I needed new brakes and an alignment so I took it back to Love Field Auto. They did a great job and at a fair price for all the work. A few weeks went by and it seemed my car was pulling to the right on a flat road. I took it back in and they realigned my car and all is well. Occasionally, I will get a text from the owner Randy, just checking to see if everything is okay with my car. Kevin & others were amazing! When I explained what my vehicle was doing, Kevin said: "nothing makes sense what you are saying when compared to the symptom your vehicle is making". After careful examination, they found there is nothing wrong with the 16 yr old vehicle, and repairs suggested by Pep-Boys are not recommended at this time. The brake pad still has 40% life, brake caliper is operational, the hydraulic hose is normal for its age, rack and pinion are leaking very little fluid and require checked during oil changes, but it does not need replacement at this time. Saying thank you and telling them how grateful for their honesty and integrity was not enough. I ordered three large pizzas for lunch as my way to say thank you. This place is great. I've come here multiple times now with two separate cars and they've always been honest about what my cars needed. Several times, I've come to them for a second opinion after the dealer recommended hundreds of dollars worth of repairs. The guys at LFA have always been truthful about what work actually needs to be done and saved me a ton of money. Recently, the dealer told me I needed an alignment on an almost new car (among other things). I couldn't believe it and brought it to Love Field Auto for their opinion. I have no reason to disbelieve them when they tell me the car is fine. My bill from the dealer, which was $600+, was brought down to $53. Similarly, last year I asked them their opinion on whether or not I should keep my volkswagen. They easily could have told me that it's a nice little car with a lot of miles left in it (it hadn't even hit 100,000). Instead, they were honest and advised me to get rid of it while it still had some value, noting some heavy internal wear-and-tear. A less honest mechanic might have encouraged me to keep the car because they could profit off of all the maintenance it would be needing. I recommend these guys to all of my friends. They're the only auto repair shop I've ever visited where I automatically go with their recommendations, no questions asked, instead of calling my dad first to see what he thinks actually needs to be done. read more

My brother, who is a mechanic, USED to take care of my car needs on the regular but now he is too busy to be bothered with me! So, I began looking for a place to get my car serviced at a reasonable cost because the dealership thinks their service center is 24K gold! I called around and diagnostic cost were almost as high as the repair cost and a lot of places wouldn't even apply the diagnostic to the final cost if you made the repairs there. I had driven by Love Field Auto for years and they always looked busy. So, I called and explained what I needed and the Mechanic, named Kevin (same name as my brother ironically) set my appointment for the next day. I dropped my car at 7am and by 10am, Kevin was calling to let me know what the cost would be and said it could be done by the end of the day! I was floored! Not only did Love Field auto diagnose and make the repairs in one day, but they didn't gouge me with the pricing! I picked up my car right before closing. Kevin also set up my next service and pointed out a few things that could use some attention but were not immediately needed. The next day I received a text from the Owner Randy thanking me for being a customer and trusting them with my repairs! GOOD OLD FASHIONED CUSTOMER SERVICE! It felt like my brother Kevin was still on the job! Love Field Auto made me feel like I was their sister, daughter, and friend all in one visit! I recommend them 100%! Since my first post I have continued to receive great service here. Here is the latest trip: 1/2/17 - Took my 2009 Honda Civic in for break repair and oil change. I expected some major work so I purchased a rental car. Imagine my surprise when I received a text less than 3 hours later saying my car was ready. I called and Kevin said they changed the oil and replaced my front brake pads at no charge. (They replaced my brakes about a year ago.) Due to a family member's unexpected trip to the ER and consequent hospital stay I was unable to pick up my car for 3 days. Love Field Auto said it was no problem to keep my car until I was able to pick it up. They even asked about my situation when I finally made it to the shop. Best service I have had for anything in a very long time!! Tried this shop on a whim for a used car check before buying. I called 10mins before closing, asking for the car to be seen the next day. They said no problem! The shop opened at 8, but I had to be at work by 8. Not only did he let me come in at 7:30, he also dropped me off at work by 8am. They were done by noon, and found several things the dealership did not. He picked me back up from work, and we had the most pleasant chat. Randy is seriously a stand up guy.
