He was quick to take on my cases and collect payment, but the real problem began afterward when accurate paperwork and follow-through were needed. I paid for two separate cases. In the first case, the Proof of Service was delayed over a month, and when I finally received it, he had listed the defendant's previous address as my address, the plaintiff. Because of that mistake, the court now reflects incorrect address information for me. In the second case, the court rejected the Proof of Service three separate times because of incorrect information. This case had specific service requirements, and I repeatedly asked for corrections because deadlines mattered. Months later, the paperwork was still not corrected. One revised version was sent, but the court rejected it again. Instead of taking responsibility, he called me a liar and a thief after I disputed the charges with my bank while waiting for proper paperwork. When I pleaded with him to fix the forms so my case would not be harmed, he responded: I WILL NOT FIX IT, I HAVE SPENT TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR PAPERS!! He then threatened police reports, small claims court, and demanded a cashier's check before making corrections. HE IS A VERY INEXPERIENCED SERVER AND DOES NOT KNOW THE COURT RULES WHEN IT COMES TO SERVICE. He told me an attorney friend advised him how to handle one of the cases, yet he still could not complete the paperwork correctly. His errors and refusal to timely correct them can potentially cost me the chance to recover five figures for damages due to missed service deadlines. Waiting two months for a Proof of Service is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. My warning to new customers: if your matter is simple and mistakes do not matter, you may be fine. But if your case is time-sensitive, requires strict compliance with court rules, or depends on accurate filings, I strongly recommend using an experienced professional instead.

So court date came and went, and my case was thrown out because of bad service. This is my first small claims case, I never received a deposit return from a previous landlord and am now having to figure out the process to get the deposit back. I would have appreciated a little more info on what my next steps would have been after service, since she does this for a living. I would have paid the filing fee to save myself the headache. Instead I was just told "everyone knows that" over the phone in the courthouse. But, aside from that, but the original forms she supposedly mailed to me never arrived. So even if I knew what to do with them, I don't have them. And on top of it all I'm out another $60 because I was refused a refund, I have to pay ANOTHER process server to do this whole thing again along with the court fees, and I have to take another day off work. To us, it sounded simple enough but deciding which forms we needed and how to fill them out correctly started to become a little daunting. After getting the forms, we went to the County Recorder and Assessor's Office where we had no problem having the title transferred. The whole ordeal took about 2 1/2 hours.
