We had been using another pool company but every visit got more and more expensive - more chemicals…read more- more service. Someone suggested we try Tsunami Jims and it made ALL the difference. Jim came out and taught us what the equipment does and how to work it, how to take care of everything and what it does. We bring out water and they test it and make suggestions never pushing extra things "just in case". Recently our pool went green in the heat and nothing we did helped. We took pictures and samples to Jims and got a complete care process. We followed his instructions and 2 days later we were in the pool - crystal clear. Jim even called to follow up and make sure we were all set. Kathy is a sweetheart and always takes the time to hear me out or talk to my toddler. The staff takes the heavier items out to the car for me when my hands are full. We started using them to open and close our pool and offered vacation service. This is an independent store, family run. The staff is small and busy. Sometimes I have to wait a few minutes while they finish a call but I've found emailing is a good way to schedule service/help esp in the spring when they are slammed and its not an emergency. They always seem to run into issues and have to increase the price after they do the work. In addition, the the prices have increased 100% year over year; which I feel is unrealistic and this always occurs after the work. It is like they magically run into problems and have to increase the price. And, finally, it is super hard to get a consistent schedule with them. They always have a week window. For pool closing, there is preparation work on the home owner's side. Ideally, you would do this the night before; so debris has less time to enter the pool before it is officially closed.

He also built a beautiful retaining wall, required due to the grade of the yard, which ran along one side of the pool. Their staff was also very helpful in walking me through how to use the equipment, proper maintenance, etc. We unfortunately were relocated this past year and miss our backyard oasis that SunSpot created.

Our trip charge was $242 + service charge 1 hour $120 and part $35... total $424.79.. that is not a price you'd think of receiving when it's under warranty! The tech showed up and confirmed that he was testing for air leaks in our pump. Then he realized he didn't have the right size gasket for our brand of pump, so he couldn't perform the test. He assured us we wouldn't be charged for the $150 service call. About an hour later, I realized the charge had appeared on our bank statement. My husband called and left a message - but the owner called ME back instead. The guy was a complete jackass to me over the phone. He kept interrupting me and talking to me condescendingly. He also said that anytime a service truck so much as leaves their premises, the customer gets charged for the service call. I asked him why I should pay for a service call when I received no service, and he claimed that nobody had written down the reason for the service guy to come over. Which is ridiculous. (Why would anyone have come over without knowing what we needed them to do? Anyway, the service guy TOLD us why he was there as soon as he stepped out of his truck.) Then, for some reason, he asked me to describe what the service guy looked like. I hung up on him at that point and told my husband to call him. After my husband threatened to complain to the BBB or perhaps even file a complaint for theft, the owner agreed to refund the service charge. He did tell my husband that he was going to take the money out of the service guy's check - which is illegal. If he did, I hope the employee reports him to the cops and the National Labor Relations Board. The owner of Cincinnati Pool and Patio is a dishonest creep. Stay away from this business.

We had Ray remediate a few issues with the pool: patching the liner and correcting some of the plumbing that decided it would strip and leak upon opening the pool (our pool is over 16yrs old). I found that his knowledge was refreshing, his attitude was positive, and his prices were very reasonable. Even if you have more than one estimate, I honestly would recommend you at least call Ray for another. It doesn't hurt you and can only benefit your situation to have a solid expert opinion on your money pit...I mean pool.
