Kenshi is awesome while I spent my time there in Central Valley. No bs, straight to the point, does not play around. He is a good honest working guy just trying to pay the bills like everyone else. I have an old 36 year old Toyota pickup. Last summer I had some overheating issues. I called around different places in Hanford and Visalia and no one wanted to help me "primarily due to the age of my vehicle". However the one place I haven't called was Kenshis. So I'm going to hanford to do a sign for a church and as I am passing Lemore NAS, boom, I look down and my guages are all going crazy. My battery is pointing left and my heat is pointing right... Not Good!. I pull over and see that all the radiator fluid is on the ground.... I call AAA, and get on Yelp to see where should I take it...I don't know a mechanic in Hanford...So I see Kenshi Auto Repair. I ask if they have time to view and what just happened. I had the tow driver drop me there and they proceeded to trouble shoot my vehicle. Turns out I had a bad water pump. The staff was very accommodating in finding the exact problem. I had to stay at a hotel for the night, it was ready at 9 am ready to take me back to Tracy, 140 miles to the north. I have taken various cars to Kenshi's over a period of about 15 years--both foreign and domestic cars. The repairs were always done right away, and done right the first time! They won't try to "get you" with extras, instead repairing just what is needed. If you have ever had a mechanic try to sell you an alternator when all that was wrong was a loose fan belt, you know what I mean! They are honest and the prices are fair. They will tell you what's wrong and what it'll cost you, and if they find something else that needs attention, they'll tell you and ask before proceeding so there are no surprises about the cost. Two hours into a five hour road trip my dependable BMW suddenly was running on 5 of its 6 cylinders. With the "Service Engine Soon" light on, far away from my known environment, I had to find a shop to get this fixed or risk further damage. Searching for the nearest BMW Dealership. "Can you bring it by on Monday?" (2days away) No. Map search for "import auto repair" led me to Kenshi Auto. THEY WERE GREAT! Got my car in right away on Friday afternoon and had it diagnosed, found the parts I needed and got me back on my way in short order at a very reasonable price. The owner Kenshi, and John were both friendly guys, easy to talk to. I have to say that they made a bad situation a pleasant experience. Took my vehicle in for a check engine light, I gave some information on the problem since I scanned the light before I came in. I got laid out a plan on how they were going to repair the problem. Then I got notified of the time, and the cost. Simply put both shorter and less than expected. Later on I got my vehicle back, the problem was fixed and was ready to hit the road. Usually I go to Kenshi for brake maintenance and such but I had a terrible thing happen with a battery purchase. I won't mention who sold me the wrong battery but turns out the positive and negative was reversed and sent an arc through my electronic components. I knew I was in big trouble with a possibility of a blown computer and had it towed to Kenshi. In one day he traced the damage down to fusible links and a blown fuse. The workers are friendly and know their craft, the owner Kenshi can be found in the bay working on vehicles right there with the team and the personal care and service is TOP NOTCH! Not only did they find the initial problem but several others that I suspected but said nothing about; advised me of them; quoted a fair price and reasonable time to complete the work; delivered on the promises made but also transported me back home when I had to leave my car. Highly recommend this shop I came to hanford to visit family and brought in with my Audi A5, I was on a tight schedule due to work and had to be back in a couple day and had to have the car back up and running soon and they ran diagnostics got the fuel injector replaced along with brake pads all within two days and got me back on the road in time! read more

I was on a road trip up north and my car engine seized up right on the highway! I was lucky enough to get a tow from a great guy telling me this was the best place around to get my car fixed! And kenshi did an amazing job! Replaced my engine and fixed the axles. He's honest and doesn't do unnecessary replacements. I just drove it back to Ventura yesterday and it runs great!! I've taken my car here twice. The first time because the check engine light kept coming on and the second time because the fuel tank door wouldn't open. Both times, it was not a major problem but I felt like the people were knew what they were doing and were not trying to rip me off. If the review would except zero stars, then i would give it to this place. The owner Mr. Kenshi is, was very unprofessional and talked in circles when asked about the repairs that were done. Quick outline of what went down, engine light came on for my car which is an Audi, I knew what the issue was an asked for the issue to be taken care of. When getting the phone call that my car was ready, I got an estimate for way more than what it was supposed to be and extra maintenance was performed that was not approved. When confronted, the owner had very poor skills on handling the situation and used profanity. DO NOT GO HERE unless you like to get charged for extra work. read more
