Our 6 man guy trip had a great time doing brunch and a custom private 3 distillery tour with the Kentucky Bourbon boys. Jessica who handled the initial phone call was very professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Kaitlin, our booking co-ordinator was very responsive to our needs and provided rapid communication to get our trip set up at the last minute (I contacted her on Wed to set it up for the coming weekend.) Roger our driver was pleasant, knowledgeable, communicated well and. Glad went with Kentucky Boys and would go with them without hesitation on any subsequent trips. On short they were awesome!

Long overdue review but such a great experience and Larry D. was the best! Small touches such as apple fritters for us so we didn't taste on an empty stomach and lots of much needed water in the van. Loved the tour and tasting at Bulleit, Whiskey Thief and Buffalo Trace. Lunch at Bell House restaurant was sweet; service was super friendly. We will book again next time and try 3 more distilleries. Thanks Larry D. for all your tips, tricks and great conversation along the way!

Every 5 star review on here is accurate. These guys are great. From the moment Roger picked us up to the very end he made sure we had a great time. The schedule was kept well and when we got ahead of ourselves Roger took us to other distillers to keep the tour flowing. The timing and quality of our lunch at Maywood was spectacular. Even the van was luxurious.

Booked a custom three distillery tour for my bachelor party. We went with KBB over the other companies, because their tours were fully customizable. This allowed me to make sure we can visit my favorite distilleries while still having a great tour. From the start, the crew at KBB was very responsive and willing to answer any questions I had prior to booking. In the weeks prior to the tour, they were very easy to work with while gathering all the details needed for our day. The day of our tour, our driver, Ethan, showed up exactly on time and walked us through the plan for the day. The bus was clean, spacious and snacks + waters were provided. Ethan was knowledgable about bourbon, local history and things to do near our stay. Since our first three planned tours ended early, we were able to sneak in an additional stop for cocktails at another distillery. Overall, we had an amazing experience and would highly recommend KBB to anyone looking to explore the Bourbon Trail.

If you are looking for a tour company to help navigate your KY bourbon experience, then look no further! Traveling from PA, I had planned a tour with friends as a surprise for my husband's 50th birthday (9 of us total). The KYBB made everything easier. They communicated with me to help with arrangements, organized a spot for lunch, and overall knowledge of the area. Our shuttle arrived promptly on time, was clean, had water and snacks available, but most importantly, we had the absolute best driver, Scott!!! He went above and beyond to make this the best experience for all of us. He was gracious and insightful about the area. I do not have 1 negative thing to say. Everyone had so many compliments and said what a great idea it was to have KYBB host our tour. Hands down the best in town, and I highly recommend them to anyone interested in doing a Bourbon tour.

So glad we booked a tour with the Kentucky Bourbon Boys. Roger was a terrific guide; he has a wealth of knowledge of Kentucky, bourbon, and whiskey. We found Roger to be personable, a great conversationalist, and a safe driver. Would recommend this outstanding company to anyone interested in wanting to experience a tour in total comfort. Lucky us!

Can't recommend Kentucky Bourbon Boys enough!! We chose KBB for a bachelor party of 8. The communication from the start from Jessica Miller was stellar. Very organized, fair price. Our driver Rob was an absolute gem. Great driving, kept to the schedule, communication was spot on, van was clean and cool in the Kentucky 95 degrees. Not a single hiccup when we got to the 3 locations and if it helps in any way the tour guides at the distilleries were brilliant as well. I will rave about and highly recommend the Kentucky Bourbon Boys tour to anybody that will listen!!!

Kentucky Bourbon Boys (KBB) did it again! My two younger brothers, sister, and I "Christmas-Gifted" our 87-year-old Mom a one-day KBB tour of Buffalo Trace Distillery, Bluegrass Distillers, and Woodford Reserve Distillery yesterday and it was memorable. Four of us drove down from Pennsylvania and one flew up from Florida. A full day (8:30 AM - 6 PM) with Roger, our award-winning (no kidding) luxury van driver and guide, who was prompt, professional, and extremely well versed in the history of bourbon, Kentucky, and just about anything you wanted to discuss. Our Mom had never tasted straight bourbon before, and it didn't matter. Our experience was a fantastic and fun day of learning, appreciation and togetherness from a mature group of siblings to their well-deserving Mom . . . one we'll all cherish a lifetime. Thank you Roger and KBB! The Giallonardo Family

Ethan with Kentucky Bourbon Boys is amazing!!

Wow! Our personal tour involved four of us celebrating milestone birthdays! We had an amazing time with Ethan! From the front door service in our private coach (very roomy, plus he provided us with water and snacks) to our Distillery tours and return drop off. Ethan is super nice and knowledgeable, answering all our questions. We really enjoyed our experience and highly recommend Kentucky Bourbon Boys!!

Our group of 6 had an excellent experience with Bourbon Boys for 3 days in a row. Our driver Jamie Gerrish was excellent to the point that he did a practice run to our locations before our tours. The timing and coordination of our pick up, 2 tours each day, lunch, and return was perfect. Our communications with the highly efficient office staff allowed us to create custom tours in the comfort of a luxury van. We highly recommend Kentucky Bourbon Boys.

    Buffalo Trace Distillery

Kentucky Bourbon Boys September 9 and 12, 2024 Day 1: September 9 Our guide and drive Jack showed up right on time (actually 10 minutes early) for our drive to Lexington Brewing Company (and Distillery) in Lexington. This tour and tasting was recommended by the staff at KBB. We enjoyed the small group (the 4 of us, plus another few) and learned Lexington's brewing methods (their Bourbon Barrel Aged Milk Stout beer is outstanding) and tasting (I only tasted the whiskeys :)). I always love trying bourbon I haven't had before. Lunch was Staxx BBQ in Frankfort - our pre-ordered lunch was waiting for us when we arrived. We then visited Whiskey Thief - tasted straight from the barrel via the copper "whiskey thief" device and we were able to fill out own bottles from the various barrel strength whiskeys. What a special opportunity. Our third stop was the historic Buffalo Trace distillery. We learned the history of Buffalo Trace, how they make their various bourbons and even saw the Blanton's bottling line in action (we weren't allowed to sneak a bottle off the line, however :(). The special of the day was the Col Taylor small batch ! Each of us allowed to buy one. Also on hand was their Single Oak Project (experimental) half bottles and we had to buy one as they so rarely are offered. What a treat. Day 2 September 12 Jack was on time once again (10 minutes early) for the 90 minute drive to the Kentucky Cooperage in Lebanon, KY, for the tour of the largest barrel making operation in the country (as far as we can tell). We got to go behind the scenes to see them actually build/repair a barrel, feel the fire as they charred the barrel and complete the process with the bands and lids and bottoms. They make the barrels for almost every distillery in the country (and likely more), each done to the specifications of the distillery. This was on our bucket list and we highly recommend this tour. We then traveled to Bardstown to Heaven Hill Distillery. Heaven Hill makes so many brands: Elijah Craig, Evan Williams, McKenna, Larceny, Pikesville and more. We were able to taste Elijah Craig and Heaven Hill - again, this was on my list as last time in Kentucky, Heaven Hill was not open due to the pandemic. Jack also took us down the road to take a look at the gift shop at Willett Distillery - we will need to return to do their tour and tasting another time. And then, to Makers Mark in Loretto. As a Makers Mark Ambassador it was time for my Golden Ticket tour and to obtain bourbon from my assigned barrel. The Ambassador tour was special as we visited buildings that are not part of the usual tour and we were able to taste some excellent Makers Mark single bar and Makers 46. The back story at Makers is fascinating and well worth the trip to Star Hill Farm. We highly recommend the Kentucky Bourbon Boys when you are visiting Kentucky for the Bourbon trail. They handled all the reservations for tours and tasting, lunches and of course, driving with fun commentary on the history of Kentucky and all the amazing country-side. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and their recommendations for visits to some of the less known distilleries (Lexington, Whiskey Thief to name just 2) and the Kentucky Cooperage made this a trip we will always remember. Thank you Jack and team at Kentucky Bourbon Boys.

    Kentucky's Hot Brown Sandwich

Just spent two days with our driver / tour guide Roger of The Kentucky Bourbon Boys. We visited 3 distilleries per day all planned by the Boys. Had plenty of time between each to have Roger explain the area and local sites. Each day they had an amazingly delish lunch for us at local restaurants. See pics below. The price for the 6 of us was great with everything included. If you're thinking of experiencing the Bourbon Trail give The Bourbon Boys a call and ask for Roger as your guide !

It's hard to explain how much we enjoyed our 2 days on the Bourbon Trail with Kenny from Kentucky Bourbon Boys (KBB). Knowing that KBB had coordinated all the details of our trip made it easy for us to sit back and have fun. Our guide Kenny was great. Very personable, knowledgeable and easy going. For our trip, we picked Buffalo Trace, 4 Roses, Bardstown and Heaven Hill to visit. KBB recommended two craft distillers Whiskey Thief and Preservation. Lunch reservations each day were taken care of by KBB and we made menu choices in advance. There were 4 in our party and we felt like VIPs traveling in a lux KBB van that was very comfortable. Each day, all we had to do was meet down in the lobby of our hotel and Kenny took care of the rest. I think we had just as much fun, if not more, while traveling thru the countryside and over the rolling hills of Kentucky than we did at the distilleries. We got lucky the second day at Heaven Hill. As we were checking in, they had a special release of an Elijah Craig Barrel Select "grenade"...one which we enjoyed very much on the trip back to the hotel. I can't speak enough about how stress-free this trip was. Also, it was really neat to see all the differences between the distilleries...like how we went from a mega factory of Buffalo Trace to the cool small site of Whiskey Thief - where we had a blast pulling our own samples straight from the barrel. Thank you all at Kentucky Bourbon Boys for making our trip a memorable one and a special thanks to Kenny. We'll be telling everyone about our awesome experience and hope to come back again!!

During an early 2025 trip to Washington, D.C., we went to multiple establishments and, coincidentally or not, encountered this specific bourbon and just loved it. The most notable occurrence was at Jack Rose Dining Saloon, where I had literally the best Old-Fashioned I've ever had, using a special Angel's Envy that hung out in some sherry barrels for a while. Since then, we've both regularly ordered it when given the opportunity, and ultimately decided that the best way to appreciate this fine spirit was to go right to the source. So to the mothership we went. My chum did most of the heavy lifting here and scheduled a bourbon tour with Louisville Food Tours (very strong recommend) that featured Angel's Envy at the first stop. It's hard to really put into words what this building looks like as you walk in and explore, but it's just so...nice. It's classy without being inaccessible, and it just felt like a true cathedral of bourbon. As tasteful as the bourbon it makes. During our initial tour, we were probably in the distillery for a solid half hour plus, getting a quick tour of the still and fermenters before being led into a side room on the second floor to formally taste some bourbon. Paula was our guide, both during this tour and later on, and was just enormously impressive, which I touched upon in my review of the official tour as well. She's no-nonsense and loves her bourbon - who can't relate? We learned how to inspect the bourbon in the glass, to take a test sip to numb the pain receptors and to truly appreciate the subtle notes in the bourbon with the second sip. It was legitimately helpful, useful information that we're both going to utilize going forward. After our three-hour tour ended (go hard or go home), it wasn't even much of a discussion - we came back here for a few hours to soak in more of the atmosphere and drink some more bourbon. At this point, it was probably close to 5ish but the place was still pretty busy; somehow we were able to secure spots at the bar upstairs and made ourselves at home. I wish I could remember the name of our bartender (blame the time that has elapsed, not the bourbon), but he was very good, social without being oppressive and was just present and let us do our thing. After sipping straight bourbon for most of the afternoon, I switched to the Bourbon Renewal, which you'll be shocked to know includes Angel's Envy but is a more summer, fruit-forward cocktail and super refreshing. Was the right call and hit the spot. (We also got waters because that's the responsible thing to do.) We finally went back downstairs to the gift shop, which doesn't feel like the right term - it was more majestic than something you'd walk into after going through, say, a museum for an hour or two. It's enormous and offers numerous bourbons and also some very high quality swag. We reunited with our chum Paula and sampled their limited edition two-grain, which was created due to a fortunate mistake in which the rye wasn't added so it's just the corn and malted barley. You CAN see the difference and taste it; to me at least, it's more caramel-y than their normal single barrel. We each bought a bottle to bring back to the homeland. My chum basically bought half the store, but I remained calm/deliberate and my only other purchase was a MAGNIFICENT black hoodie. I'm not kidding - I love hoodies and have probably owned dozens over the years, and this is literally the best quality one I've had. It has this interesting front pouch pocket design with like a pocket within the pocket for high-priority items like your ID or credit cards, and the hood itself is interesting. It's just really good and I wore it all day the next day as we slowly made our way back to the East Coast. It's been washed and carefully placed in my closet, where it will reign supreme when the weather inevitably turns nippy again. It's not an exaggeration to say we probably spent hundreds of dollars (at least not thousands) directly and indirectly involving Angel's Envy on this trip. Worth it.

She was attentive, informative and taught us how to get past the initial burn of bourbon. I much enjoyed the bourbon and the chocolate pairings were a nice surprise. We were able to get tickets the night before at a time that worked well for us. The bar area is a nice place to hang out and if you don't do the tour you can still go get some tastings.
