The only comedian who could get genuine laughs out of me with any regularity passed away while I was in middle school. It is a goal to find one still living who can do so. I remember going to a comedy show in Chicago, where I sat stone faced, except for one joke that got a genuine laugh out of me. On the one hand, I feel sort of bad for the comics, on the other, I didn't heckle, and they should have been funnier. So... why am I writing essays on my supposed lack of a sense of humor? Because Bob at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience was funnier than several comedians performing at a comedy club, combined! EWBE was, true to its name, an experience. There are very few barrels made at this location; it mainly exists for tourists. The setup is terrific, with a multimedia experience talking about the history of bourbon, Louisville, Evan Williams the man, and Evan Williams the distillery. There was, of course, a tasting involved as well, with the opportunity to try four different whiskies - and not the cheap stuff either! The group also had a chance to try the spirit before it goes into the barrel. Final verdict: not all places for tourists are tourist traps. If you're going to Louisville to experience the Bourbon Trail, Evan Williams should absolutely be on your list.

Had a lovely time at their 20s themed Valentine's Day dinner The cocktails were all delicious and the catered meal was wonderful. The lower level speakeasy space was the perfect setting. Loved the staff as well. Very knowledgeable and they let the mood fun. Would definitely attend a special event here again.

This was such a fantastic experience - we booked pretty last minute and were able to get in on a weekend afternoon with four! One of our group was pregnant and they kindly refunded us some money since she wouldn't be participating in the tasting. This experience was told in such a fun way - a great combination of the history of the specific distillery and education on the making of bourbon. And, of course, it finished with a great tasting - our tour guide was so entertaining and educational. It was a great intro to anyone new to bourbon...or just looking to learn how to taste and what to look for.

Came back for the Bourbon Experience tour, and it was definitely worth it! People previously described it as interactive; there were various screens , etc, putting you right in the middle of the scene and history. Extremely informative, educational and Bob was outstanding as our "Bourbon Host!" ( and not tour guide!!) Can't say I liked any of the samples as I passed them all to hubby who drinks the stuff, but I would gladly return to this tour. See my previous reviews; this place is definitely my favorite.

We stopped in at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience and were very impressed. They offer a military discount, which made the tour free and included a tasting, a gesture that I truly appreciate. Our guide was both fun and informative, keeping the group engaged the entire time. Compared to other tours, this one felt more interactive. Along the way, we watched well-produced videos and walked through rooms decorated to look like the old days of distilling, which gave it a unique and historic feel. The tasting included four Evan Williams bourbons, paired with a chocolate bourbon ball. The chocolate was a perfect touch, pairing nicely with the flavors of the bourbon. Overall, this was a great experience , educational, entertaining, and generous. If you're visiting Louisville and enjoy bourbon, this is definitely a stop worth making.

My husband and 2 of our friends took a trip down to Louisville a couple of weekends ago and had a blast. I planned out all of our distillery tours/tastings and added Evan Williams to our list for cocktails so we could still experience their distillery without blocking out an hour for an additional tour. My husband, sister, brother, and I have all previously toured Evan Williams, but we've never stopped in for just a drink at ON3 BAR. Both visits were super fun, but the staff at the bar were so friendly and enjoyed being at work, which is honestly a big change of pace for bartenders. Their energy made the upstairs so fun and it was nice to experience a different side to Evan Williams. My bestie and I got paper planes (delish), her husband got an old fashioned, and my husband got a seasonal cocktail.

Sip, sip, hooray! A quick stop on your walk down whiskey row and it didn't disappoint. We were able to walk right in no appointment or anything and get straight to the tasting bar. We all got a flight, 3- sips you can choose/mix and match mine was $12 super reasonable! Great stop and gift shop is also very nice. Give it a try!

Make sure you budget enough time. If you're here for a drink or a flight, make sure you have time to enjoy. Their bar has lots of rare and delicious pours. If you're not careful you'll feel the need to rush. I'd recommend spending time in the bar. There are other sections which are cool, but I think the attraction is getting to sample product that's really hard to find.

Nick was our guide (10 August 2025 at 2pm) - he was extremely knowledgeable and shared a lot of good information and explained it in a way that anyone could understand. The tour was really cool and immersive. You aren't just looking at the distilling process, you actually go through a series of rooms that were built as reenactments. This is a must do based on price and what you get for the price. Well worth $20. We got four tastings total.

Our guide, Bob was knowledgeable and funny making the tour informative yet fun and energetic. The old time tasting room and little storefront was a fun touch on the tour. The spirits my wife and I tired were all excellent. The bonus was Evan Williams goes above and beyond supporting military service and our tour was complete free with showing our valid IDs!

We did the Bartender's Experience. Totally worth it. Great historical perspective and completely worth it as it relates to a tasting. The ambiance is perfect. Several of the other people at this experience had done this experience multiple times. I've been to a number of bourbon tastings in Ky... there is no reason to not do this one... particularly if you're staying in downtown Louisville!

Decent bourbon tasting that is reasonably priced. Facilitates are rustic, staff is nice. Did not take the 1 hour tour--$22 around that price for an hour. Gift shop was way overpriced. They would sell more as they had interesting items to try, however not worth the cost.

Skip the tour if you're burnt…read moreout and just belly up to the gorgeous top floor bar for world class drinks and free corn nuts. My group of four decided to wrap up our epic Bourbon Trail weekend at Michter's Fort Nelson Distillery right before heading to the airport. Having already hit six other distilleries over the weekend, we were completely "toured out" and opted to bypass the standard distillery tour. Instead, we headed straight upstairs to the bar and it was the best decision. We happened to visit right at the start of Derby week, so the entire building was alive and buzzing. Because of the festivities, they were highlighting their own rendition of the Derby fan favorite Mint Julep. I had to get one, and it did not disappoint. It was well crafted, perfectly balanced, and served in the classic, frost chilled sterling silver cup. Easily one of the best Juleps I've ever had. The bar area itself is beautifully appointed, sitting on one of the top floors of the historic building with a great atmosphere. A massive bonus: they offer patrons free bar snacks. The seasoned corn nuts were an absolute hit at our table, to the point where we had to ask for seconds (and they happily obliged!). Service was fantastic from start to finish. Despite the Derby week crowds, our water glasses were never empty and the cocktails came out incredibly fast. Whether you are doing a full day of tours or just want a world class drink in a stunning setting, Michter's is a phenomenal addition to any Louisville itinerary.

We were early for our tour but there was seating along with the shopping and bar. Our tour guide was Carter and he was very knowledgeable. The cooper that was working was very energetic and treated us to a viewing of an actual barrel charring. I've never seen that in person and it was a real treat. The tour ends with a tasting that included a pin and a chocolate covered caramel marshmallow, which I ended up buying a full bag of later in the shop - they are so good! Cool to see the coopering (barrel making) including the blazing fire charring the inside of the freshly made barrels. Wife said she could have watched the bottling line all day, and I wouldn't disagree. Small tastings of their 4 major labels in a sit down tasting room. My cocktail was the Crushed Velvet, Whiskey Thief Bourbon, Creme de Cacao, Vanilla liqueur, Luxardo juice, chocolate bitters, and egg whites. It was a fine cocktail although not my favorite of the day. The hubby ordered a Maple Smoked Manhattan which had Whiskey Thief Bourbon, sweet vermouth, bitters, and maple syrup and he said he enjoyed it. Sitting at the bar was nice because they had a huge window open to the outside and you could feel the warmth of the day and a slight breeze.
