My youngest son who is autistic came on the tour and he was actually the one who picked our place. There was two units available an upstairs which was chosen by my son and a downstairs unit which I actually wanted. Ashley made the whole tour enjoyable and made it feel like we were home. It's very peaceful, clean, well kept up. We just moved in, in August and already feel like we've been at home for a while now. The neighbors are so kind. Palm Lake used to be a great place to live. What made it great was the office staff and maintenance team was very responsive and proactive when it came to any issues regarding our unit and upkeep of the building. Fast forward to today, this is far from the case. Not only does management keep switching every 6 months, they are unresponsive, short tempered, and incredibly RUDE. Let me tell you about my experience today. Recently, there has been a mice infestation in our building. We see them, we hear them in our walls, and it makes it hard to sleep soundly knowing there are rodents scurrying in your walls. The assistant manager Kimberly Arzadon spoke to me weeks ago saying she would call pest control to our unit to plug any potential holes. I told her that doesn't fix the root problem, and they would still nest within our walls. Today, in front of potential renters, she ABRUPTLY cut me off mid sentence and told me she would not be speaking to me at all. Natalie Castillo, the property manager, quickly echoed her from her office. But why? You spoke to me previously with no issues? I've never been told I can't speak about a concern in a unit I live in, just because I'm not on the lease. The issue was not the lease, the issue was that there were potential renters inside of the office as well. They both quickly and rudely shut me up. I couldn't get a cohesive and complete sentence out of my lips before I was told no. They treated me inhumanely, rudely, and poorly. It was only after the potential renters left on a tour, that Natalie decided to put on her nice manager act, and talk to me with concern in her eyes, and a calm quiet tone in her voice. Really? After being so abrupt and rude to begin with? Anyway. Don't move here. The apartments are infested with mice. Cars keep getting broken into. 3 times now we have had our cars broken into and glass shattered (???they said they won't install cameras because its too expensive???), and the office staff is as arrogant and rude as they come. What has always stood out is not just how quickly he responds, but how genuinely dedicated he is to taking care of the residents. When our sink started leaking, Travis was actually injured, but he still made the time to come by, turn off the water to prevent further damage, and make sure another maintenance technician was scheduled to assist him to complete the faucet repair just a day or two later. That level of commitment and follow-through is something you don't see every day. Every time Travis comes by, he's incredibly kind, respectful, and professional. He always takes the time to explain what he's doing and why, which we really appreciate. He's knowledgeable, personable, and even brings a great sense of humor, making what could be a stressful situation feel easy and reassuring.
