We lived here for about 2 years. There were several car break ins to the garage and theft in the package room in our time there. When we moved in here 2 years ago, on move in day we were asked if we could push our move in date. We then came to find out that squatters had changed the locks and were living in our unit, they found out the day we were supposed to move in. We were put into a different unit until they could get our unit cleaned from the squatters, as they didn't have any more of the size unit available and offered no other feasible options or deductions for the inconvenience. So lots of reasons for this low review, but we just moved out a week ago just received a bill for some pretty ridiculous move out charges, with little to no transparency or itemized invoices given per CA law. The letter stated the unit was left in good / ok condition however there are $700 in fees for cleaning, carpet cleaning and paint, which I find hard to believe is true based on the unit being left empty and in good condition. So overall pretty disappointing and shady. Seemingly just them trying to get more money out of us. Really hoping they will resolve this. read more

I lived at this apartment complex from April 2022 - Dec 2024. Pros: The neighbors were nice, close to Bart and downtown and the community had potential BUT my experience wasn't great The leasing office communication with residents is almost non-existent, and they're incredibly slow to respond to any issues. They would send out emails without much notice about checking alarms or any sort of maintenance. I gave the community manager my forwarding address when I moved out, and four months later I received a collections notice for painting charges and utility bills. I never received a final bill or any breakdown of the charges--just a debt collector letter out of nowhere. Complete lack of professionalism. Regarding safety, my husband's car was broken into in the parking lot, and unfortunately, that's not an isolated incident. Several of our neighbors had similar experiences with their vehicles being vandalized or broken into. We thought this was a safe place, but after these incidents, it's clear there is a serious lack of security or any meaningful oversight from management. The complex could be a great place to live if the management actually cared about residents. Unfortunately, the leasing office's poor communication and the ongoing safety concerns made it a really frustrating and stressful experience. read more

If we were going to be rating the location, safety, and support during our son's first 2.5 years there, it would be a one star. And despite him moving now to another state, we feel it is important to offer a 5-star review on the move-out process with the new management; specifically, Chase Asbell. Chase was effective, communicative, and supportive. Chase, the new assistant manager, was dealing with many residents upset about the messy transfer of ownership and things that were left undone. And yet, he was calm, collected, and compassionate. It actually, for a moment, made my son question leaving now that there was someone who truly wanted to make the experience better. Absolutely horrible experience here. I've never had to call 911 in my life. Upon moving to Park Central, I had to call multiple times. 1. Car explosions in the parking garage. 2. Neighbor threatening another neighbor with a knife over noise complaints. 3. Neighbor assaulting another neighbor with pepper spray over noise complaint. 4. Neighbor screaming I'VE GOT A GUN after a fight in the hallway. I talked with management after each of these and they promised me they'd take care of it, and would be installing new cameras in all the garages and hallways. This never happened and as far as I know all the residents involved still live there. I had constant issues with non-handicapped residents parking in the handicapped spots without a placard. Management was willing to tag the vehicles, but it was just a constant stream of different vehicles. I asked to have a closer parking space as an alternative but was denied saying 'that spot was reserved for another resident'. I was also promised EV chargers on the top floor in the garages-- this also never happened. If you do move here, absolutely don't get an 'inner' unit unless you want to hear screaming 'F*&K!!!!!!' extremely loud during any sporting event by residents with their windows open. I'm pretty sure this was a family member of a member of the management team. There's constant parties at the pool area by people I've never seen before around the complex drinking, screaming, blasting music. I also don't recommend being anywhere near the parking garages, where residents blast music and have extremely loud vehicles and drive far too fast up/down the garage due to no management oversight and non-working cameras. There are constant issues with the water system, resulting in water being turned off for the complex. In our 1 year here, this happened at least 4 times for over 6 hours at a time. Additionally, the fire alarms go off frequently for false alarms. The package room is constantly robbed, and packages are strewn about the complex by Amazon drivers. Expect Amazon to occasionally deliver packages outside the front door of the leasing office on Galindo, where they are easily stolen. Also, invest in ear plugs for the constant sound of fireworks/explosions late at night, as well as gun shots from the surrounding neighborhood. read more

I really have enjoyed living at Park Central for the past 2 years. The units are very nice with high ceilings and good quality fixtures, appliances, etc. The community is pet friendly and does not have breed restrictions which is very unique and a huge plus for me. The amenities are well-maintained and include a clubhouse with a good-sized gym & spin studio, conference room, secure package room, complimentary beverages, and staff on-site every day. Speaking of the staff, Sam & her team including Dom, Rebecca, and Gustavo are amazing! They are responsive, diligent, and have made a positive impact on the community during their time here. I absolutely love Park Central! My wife and i have been here a little over 2 years and we have 2 children. The front office are always so positive and have a smile on their face, they are such a great team. Anytime we have had any concerns with maintenance in our apartment the property Manager Sam always had a maintenance employee there in a reasonable time and they took care of the problem and were very friendly and professional. So. These are pretty nice clean pictures that the management of Park Central have put up on Yelp recently. Showing spot clean apartments, the fitness center, and all. Don't be fooled. But, did they mention, they will NOT allow their own residents access to these sparking clean areas? Of course they haven't. To this day, the renters of Park Central, have no access for the last at least 10 months to the fitness center, the common rooms (recreation rooms, cycle room, business center, pool) and even have been told they are not welcome into the Leasing Office, unless you have "an appointment". In the meantime. The gates around the entire premises are broken. Anyone can enter at compromised points, and take a look at the "clean" ( in jest) hallways we've had for over a YEAR now! Oh yeah, very Covid friendly. They've managed to put stickers on the floor of the elevators, that they maybe clean every 2 months. So, at least we are safe. But don't get stuck in a broken elevator, because the staff have no idea how to get you out. Oh, and we just recently found out. The "Luxury" pricing we've been laying for our apartment the last 6+ years....we were told, "you don't actually have a "luxury" apartment. The apartments are nice if you like cheap ikea cabinets, a very thin carpeting, and it's not quiet. The trash can movers wake us up just about 2-3x a week around 4 a.m.. The front office will straight up lie to your face, blame you for the issues at hand, and will not accept any responsibility for their actions and/or lack thereof.....don't move in here!! I am a senior citizen and lived at Park Central for 2 yrs with my husband. My husband had cancer and passed away in November. I was then told I needed to requalify for my apt. from Linda the roaming manager and I made 2000 a month to little. I asked how that was possible in that I my only loss was 700 a month from husbands death. She told me should would speak to Robin. Linda calls and tells me I now need to make 3600 more a month and it would be best for me to give 30 days notice. My rent was paid on time every month and sometimes a month in advance. I now had to pay 3000 to move and leave behind the last memories of my husband of 44 yrs. Shame on you treating seniors that way and a grieving widow!!!! Not good people at all!! read more

WELCOME TO COCKROACH CENTRAL - specializing in Black Mold, Cockroaches, and Car Break-Ins! First of all, let me just say, that you do not deserve the absolutely horrifying experience that comes with being trapped in a lease here. Period. While serving my 12-month sentence at Park Central, i experienced things i wouldnt deem safe for a back-alley in SF. The amount of car break ins, broken glass, drug needles, pipes, you name it, is unreal. If you value your health, look else where. If you have kids, NOT A F'ING CHANCE. We had a clog in our bathtub and the maintenance man who "fixed"' it left our tub FILLED WITH BLACK SLUDGE. Two days later, ROACHES. It was truly a nightmare. Huge cockroaches in the bathroom, living rooms, bedrooms, everywhere. When we contacted management, they first acted like that had no idea of a pest issue. When i called back the very next day, the front office were all the sudden roach experts!! They told me, "Dont worry, those are 'outside' roaches, they dont come inside very often." LOL. Ohh, sooo these are the kind of roaches that are well-spoken and have manners.... I swear, you really cant make this sh*t up. For the grand finale, 6 month after ive moved on from that nightmare, i receive a call from a debt collector stating i owe Park Central for move out costs. This is not my first rodeo, so i knew to request an in-person walk through pre-move out to inspect our unit. Nobody ever came by. Nobody ever invoiced us after moving out. Nada. Just a nice, friendly call from a debt collector stating i owe a debt on, you guessed it, "undisclosed" costs. LOL. I CANNOT WARN YOU ENOUGH. This place will be the worst mistake you ever made, unless you love the anxiety of not knowing whether your safe sleeping at night. Save yourself. Save your family. The last straw was this past month when I asked her about the security, or I should say, the LACK of security, at Park Central. Anne snapped at me angrily and mocked me using a broken English dialect (I am from Mexico) saying, "If you no like, go back to where you come from. Everyone steals in Mexico. " I was not surprised at her. She is always so rude to the Spanish speaking tenants. My Tia was here a few weeks ago, and Anne stopped her when she parked to come see me. She told my Tia Clarita she was going to call immigration on her. Just because she parked where Anne and her friend were standing and talking. This place use to be "luxury" when Jesse was manager. There use to be great customer service, the apartment complex was clean, rarely any car break-ins, and management use to reply immediately. Use to love it hear that I would tell folks to look into Park Central. In the past 3 months, I had my car broken into and they stole my work essentials and left my sons car seat all dirty. This December couple days before Christmas my parents came to visit, got late spent the night... the following morning at 5 am as my dad was going to work his wheel was stolen, had to miss a days work. Couple days later, my sons Christmas trees (2 of them) that we put in front of our door to show some Christmas spirit, was stolen by some guy who we caught on our camera. I had to go to Home Depot at 7am in the morning to replace my son's trees so I can avoid the conversation of him asking "Daddy, why aren't my trees here??".This is where it gets interesting. 1) When I called management to informed them about my car break in, in October, I asked if there were any cameras they can pull up and they told me that they would reach back to me vie email, NO Response. 2) I called to let them know about my dads tire being stolen, and if there was any camera footage or anything that could be a remedy, there response, "I'll call you back in 10-15 min" and no call back. Note: My parents came over for Christmas and it was embarrassing for me when he stated he was going to go back home to leave his car because at Park Central it will get stolen. 3) This time I went to the office at 9:30am and let Bethany (Manager/Assistant..idk), know that I had enough and that many of my neighbors were fed up! I told her that I was still waiting on her email since October about my car break in, that I was still waiting on the 10-15 min call I never received from her collogue. I told her I was exhausted with the service here of them neglecting the residents. I expressed to her that one of the residents who my dad was speaking to when he seen his tire stolen told that he had been here for 6 months and his car was broken into twice. I have expressed why the gates remain broken, why aren't there no cameras and what is the purpose of security. One of her responses was "I live here to and my car has been broken into as well" I took it as, "If they got into my car, what makes you think we are going to look into yours." We have security folks who patrol from time to time and they have told us that they have notified the property about the gates. They also informed us the the night I seen my car broken into that it could have been homeless, as they caught someone living on the roof of the south building. I was told that the security guard who gave us that information was then let go because they were not allowed to give personal opinion on how things were ran at the property to residents. I also had someone from cooperate tell me that I should look at if from a different perspective on when it came to the trees being stolen... that some else NEEDED them more than I did. Now, when my car got broken into and the security guard said it could possibly be a homeless, I wasn't upset because besides them stealing my work essentials, they stole a portable vacuum and sanitation wipes. I was just happy they did not damage my car. I went to speak to Bethany on 12/29/22 and let her know that our time living at Park Central is over. She did not hesitate to hand me the "Intention to Terminate" papers. She did not even try to provide customer service and try to see if there was a way to have us stay.. no empathy. CRAZY because as I was sitting at her desk, this gentleman comes in and says "Hey man, if you are about to move here, they are great! I smiled and put my head down and Bethany stated towards me, "Only if he knew that your about to leave". I mean the Audacity!!! Crazy thing is that when you ask for something to get done by them it takes forever or noting happens, but man was she fast to give me those Lease Termination Papers!! After all the crap I have gone through with them, she hits me with the, you will still need to pay 2 remaining months plus the time that you are still here, as I told her that I want to leave in mid January. The cost to leave this LUXURY Apartment....$7,900!! The least they can do if they are tired of dealing with people is let them out there lease so they can get the hell out and stop bothering them because that's what it feels like. So over this place. From car break ins, no response from management/zero liability, gates are open for random people coming in, smells like cigs/weed, alarms going off early in the morning, trash filled up by new mailboxes, people braking into mailboxes... My car was broken into in the middle of the night and they person tried to drive off with it. My door was left open and partially pushed out of the parking spot. Security let the main office know and they did not contact me. I came to my car the next afternoon and my brakes were damaged but I had no knowledge of why until the security guard began telling me that my car was tampered with. Management knew and did not let make me aware then tried to lie as if they did not know, then suddenly confirmed that they received the police report that I was also not aware of. The police did a full investigation on my car and I had no idea until after I drove it. Technically, as extreme as this may sound, I could've been injured or died if I wasn't informed that my brakes were tampered with. But the girl in the office said it didn't look like anything was stolen so that is why I was not alerted. How lovely. read more

I have been here since 2016 and I have had my ups and downs. Thankfully, with this new team, it's been UP, from what I have experienced thus far. Therefore, this review is based on; new management, living space, and maintenance. The new management team has been nothing but amazing and responsive. Samantha has been super helpful and responsive. Maintenance on-site is amazing, you never feel awkward or creepy when they are working in your home. I love my unit, hence why I'm still around. The units have thick walls, so I have no idea what my neighbors are saying. Unless it's in the courtyard lol! Conversations in the courtyard echo, so if you don't want anyone to hear it, don't have it in the courtyard. I have not had 1 message 1 email or even a piece of mail sent to me letting me know we had a balance due instead they send you to collections!!! I was initially looking forward to making park central my home the staff was nice but during the process of getting the apartment it started getting worse little big little. Basically I applied for a unit when online the next day saw a cheaper unit, rep at the office said yes they can make the change because unit is same layout, I got approved for the unit got the papers but noticed it had the new unit but not with the price listed. I asked for it to be adjusted on the lease form they said yes some time passed and then they said nope we can't do the change because that price was if you move in that day. My husband and I took a self tour of the unit it was not move in ready for that day. One of the reps had also asked us if he would move in at a different day because maintenance still had to fix something in the unit. I told them I didn't want the unit anymore I tried getting in contact with them by email asking is I could get my application fee and hold fee refunded and I still haven't heard back. This was my email to them On 12/6/23 we took a tour at your apartment building for a 2 bed 2 bath unit we were told we could apply for the unit online and a $71 fee could be reversed because the online platform could not overwrite the application fee. We submitted our application for the unit for $2859. Right after we submitted the application we saw online a different unit with the same layout for a different price $2650, my husband we straight to the location and was asked to tour the unit on his own because there was only one person working at the time. My husband faced time me, it was the exact same layout of the unit we originally applied for but cheaper and I could tell the apartment still needed some cleaning because it looked very dusty with stained carpet and very VERY DIRTY bathtubs on both rooms. My husband went back to the office after the self tour and asked if we could switch the apartment to the cheaper one and the lady at the office said yes and she confirmed with my husband that we would not need to reapply because it was the same layout this took place on the 7th. We called to follow up didn't get any therefore we decided to visit the office personally and were told that yes they would be able to make the price adjustment and we were told that they would adjust the price more than once. We were patient with the team... our move in date was on the 19th and today 12/20/23 we get told that no they couldn't do the price adjustment because the price was only if you moved in on the 7th! I think we were misguided and misled there were too many errors and delays for the response my husband received! I an a witness of how dirty the apartment was and it was not move in ready we were even asked to delay of move in because maintenance still has to fix something on the unit. I would like to ask for a full refund for our applications $171.00 we were treated very unfair. I have yet to hear a response very disappointing read more

Tracie Moore - the older woman who works at the office provides terrible customer service to the residents. She denied any requests about gym temperature (which at the time was 83 degrees; see pic). After 5 phone calls, she refused to fix the issue which led to health problems (see pic). If you post any concerns on the community wall she simply denies it. ( see pic). I saw and heard how she laughs and jokes about the residents behind their back. She accused me and a friend, when we were talking in a foreign language, that we were talking about her (Audio recording sent to corporate). She confirms in the audio that she doesn't know the language. It is a very disgusting way to treat residents and that kind of people should be fired read more

Lived here for about 4+ years on and off. Came back after the first time as we loved the complex so much. Unfortunately management has lost its touch here with a number of different and glaring issues. At the end of our stay we were in the midst of covid - hit a financial bind due to covid causing both of us to lose our jobs and become unemployed. When this first initially happened we were met with a rent reduction by Park Central, which was graciously appreciated. Unfortunately we were unable to return to work as throughout the entirety of covid as our employer remained closed. This being said, Park Central had suddenly switched from having Milinda as manager to Tracie, who is the owner. The owner is now the manager and although on the surface she may seem nice she only cares about your money. We soon lost the discount in rent and our rent was back to the normal rate by the end of our stay, which was a big prompt for us to move out as our jobs were still closed. A shame, as the rent they were originally charging us wasn't even placed anywhere close to market value during the pandemic. In other words, Park Central was leasing new apartments to new tenants at their complex for around 400-500$ cheaper online but yet wanted to charge us more even though they knew we lost our jobs. That's business for ya. So sad, no human decency. Not to mention, during our entire stay with covid, the amenities were all locked or unavailable. No gym, no pool, no common areas. We understood this for the sake of safety during the pandemic, but a discount should have been applied as a result for losing these amenities we paid to use as part of moving into this complex. Throughout our entire stay, we had smokers living below us and no matter which manager was in charge at the time, no one dealt with this issue, despite many attempts we made to call up about the problem. (My wife has asthma too by the way). Smoke would accumulate in our apartment even with all the windows and doors closed. It was wonderful especially since the complex advertised itself as a STRICT NON-SMOKING complex. yeah right.... Mail room was a joke, no organization, no understanding of what even is going on. The attempts to organize the room were laughable, with shelving units that were labeled and immediately filled up causing remaining packages to pile on the floor. This was an issue during our entire stay. Losing packages, or packages getting stolen was a common occurrence. Car vandalism was a common occurrence despite them having only one camera at the gate and not anywhere else. We also witnessed several Police loudly chase a fugitive from one of the lower floor apartments a week before we moved out. Definitely not a safe complex to live in. Overall if you run into the current manager Tracie, she is a big culprit in all of the problems here. While previous managers have lived onsite, she has not. So she doesn't fully understand or appreciate the ins and outs of Park Central and has mentioned how she is overwhelmed with her duties. I left my tiny one bedroom apartment in pretty much perfect condition when I moved over a year and a half ago. There were no repairs other than the standard carpet cleaning in the bedroom, which is the ONLY room with carpet, and paint (although there was no damage I guess that's standard). I am now receiving calls from a debt collector that I owe almost $800 and that does not include security deposit. How in the world could paint and one bedroom of carpet cost over $1100?! I have lived at this property for a total of 8 years and let me tell you that my experience has left a lot to be desired. Let's get started shall we! This property has been owned by three separate companies since I moved here the first time. The current owners, Sequoia, are in way over their heads with this property. They can't keep a consistent Property Manager, leaving the pregnant assistant manager to handle things all on her own. The current property Manager, Tracy, has no idea what follow through means. And when she does follow through, she makes you jump through more hoops to get what you need. As far as I'm concerned she's a waste of airspace! Maintenance at this property went downhill when they drove off all the maintenance guys who have been at this property for years. The guys who are here now can't keep up with the place. Rudy is a real gem, NOT! I have lived in this unit for almost 4 years and I have had several back ups into my tub leaving it coated in thick black gunk. Guess how much bitching and complaining it took to get a professional plumber to assess the situation. Too much! Then when I asked for a mold test to be done, and asked for a copy of the results on completion, I got nothing but excuses or run around for two weeks till I finally went into the office and expressed my dissatisfaction in person. This is where Tracy becomes a real waste of air space, making you jump through unnecessary hoops to provide you with something you have a right to. Safety & Security at this property even though it's gated is non existent. I was randomly and physically attacked in the parking garage by a visitor. After making a police report, I asked the property owners to install security cameras in the garage and common areas as a result, and they ignored me. I'm sorry but when a tenant gets attacked by a random person on your property and you do nothing to help protect the property and its tenants, then you have a real issue here. It gets even better! They considered security cameras, only because cars have been getting broken into like crazy, not because tenants are getting attacked on property. Oh and I can't forget to mention all the car issues here. One of the vendors on property hit my car in my parking space and didn't leave a note. The property wouldn't even consider paying my deductible to fix my car. My car got broken into and so did my boyfriend's car twice in a gated parking garage. Needless to say they decided against cameras regardless of the reason. Your safety and property mean nothing to this company! Now we can't forget about the tenants too. What kind of review would this be if I didn't. So not only did I get attacked by some random visitor, I also get attacked by another tenant who assumed I was trying to cut him in line to the package room, when all I was doing was putting my code in. Yeah, so guess what happened with that situation, NOTHING! Have video footage of the altercation and everything. Yet NOTHING! There are also two other tenants in the other building who pepper sprayed each other because they can't stand living above/below each other. This property is a real winner isn't it! So if you are concerned at all for your safety or your quality of living, I suggest you look somewhere else. But make sure you look up the property on yelp first before you consider them. You learn so much from reviews! My previous review of this place was under a different property owner that did a much better job at managing and maintaining the property at the time. First of, i wanted to follow up on the request that was sent lastnight and between then till noon of today 12/2/2022 no response or calls for a follow up on a clog that occur in our bathroom sink . Said to call on tome but since in the past workers had come in during the time we were not available without our permission , I wanted to make sure this time that does not happen at all since I have a puppy who is not caged for today. The constant lack of response as well is what is infuriating and when noone is at home is when they decide to be most available. Who ever picked up the front desk should be aware why tenants are constantly yelling over the phone because this is type of service is unacceptable. I told the front desk to pls come in at 4 pm which should be a reasonable time to notify the service team to come because thats when i know someone will be home. Was that too much to ask? The front desk can never seem to follow up with anyone and always leaves the tenants with the "i dont know what time or if they can make it that time" what a way showing your tenants what customer service is all about. Have been living here since October 2018. The on-site management used to be great for the first year. The problems started when new folks came in as part of the on-site management team - they do not care about the residents and do nothing to provide a safe and secure environment to its residents. Some of the problems are as follows : As of July 2020 - 1) There have been car break in on a regular basis and the management has not done anything to address it. Moreover, they have ignored resident's phone calls when they have called them to report it. 2) Mailboxes have been broken into on a monthly basis since last year. Management has not done anything about it. They took 3 months to set up a 'more secure' mailbox and that was broken within the first week of its installation. 3) Delivered packages are lost on a regular basis. Management will ask you to contact Luxer even though there is nothing that luxer can do. Also, we do not pay rent to luxer ! Additionally, the mailroom is small and highly disorganized. 4) Management is not open to criticism. There is an online community portal where certain posts criticizing the management will not be posted. 5) When criticized about their pool and gym facilities, management has told its residents that they do not pay for amenities - they just pay rent ! 6) On two previous occasions , they took more than 2 weeks to fix my AC. They said it was because of a delay in procuring parts from a third party vendor. Basically demonstrates that they are not proactive in changing their vendor for the better. CAUTION - Stay away from this place. Any advertisement about safety and amenities here are just lip service. PROs: The maintenance folks are great people, friendly and efficient. The garage door was out of order from March 2- May 4. They finally fixed the garage but residents did not have garage fobs/remotes until May 19. And when I came to pick up the garage remote they only had one remote ready even though we handed in our 2 remotes initially. I dont understand why it takes several months to get ANYTHING done by this office. read more

Place started out good but quickly went down hill. It took at least 5 visits to fix front door. Maint manager said door was fine but the tech who came up after him said we needed a new door. Maint manager said dryer was ok and operating normally. Tech comes up and says we need a new dryer. Took a year for grills to be working properly by pool. Entry gates/doors are constantly broken so whoever wants can come in and steal. Took over a year for stove top to be fixed. Theft is rampant. Price went up but services and quality of property went down. No luxor package lockers even though theres hundreds of apartments, which means anyone can come and steal your packages. To the point I don't have anything deliver to the property because theft is too high. Management stores its gear and appliances all over the complex including hallways and parking spots but will threaten you with fines if you do the same. Theres a motorcycle thats been there for several years in same spot in a no parking zone blocking access way but nothing is done even though new rules are in place. My dishwasher stopped working in the middle of the afternoon last Monday. I then tried holding the power button to see if it would come back, yet it still wouldn't work. I called maintenance to notify them about what was going on, I also notified the maintenance team of Ernesto and Jose that I would not be home as well. I was comfortable with letting them into my home. When I arrived home Ernesto and Jose were finishing up the job which then my dishwasher was fixed. Update: And then I was told PC is no longer with Greystar. Sally (PC new manager, from Sequoia) helped me a lot to get my refund from Greystar, reason why I've updated my review.
