Some different friends who also Disc Golf had said it was one of the best courses around so I finally felt the urge to make it up there. The open a little early which is nice too. Entering the park is impressive in itself. There are so mnay things going on from a large lake spanning waterpark, wildlife all over, a BMX park that's a good size, and of course, the disc course. The things some had said that was obvious immediately, is that the place had far more rolling hills than any park or place in South Florida. I started off at the top of a hill and had to through down to the bottom of the hill. There were shots later where I had to throw over a pond and up a hill. From the elevation changes to the great forest and water holes, it really was worth the drive. Heck, I've been back 2 more times this month already.

During the COVID lockdown, walking the trails became my favorite pastime. Especially as a pregnant woman looking for peace and fresh air, lol. Years later, those same trails are still a favorite activity for my son and me. More recently, I've taken up disc golf and was excited to find out the group I joined regularly plays at the Okeeheelee course. It's been such a fun and engaging experience! Just yesterday, I attended a picnic at one of the park's pavilions, and it was wonderful. The swings and playground next to the pavilion made it perfect for a family-friendly event. The space provided plenty of seating and shade, so everyone could enjoy themselves without being overwhelmed by the heat. There's still so much of this park I haven't explored yet, and I genuinely look forward to continuing to visit for years to come.

Tucked right into the community is the aptly named Empire Park. While this is a small park, it is very family friendly. At just 2.66 acres, it still has everything you need for a enjoyable outing. Located in a quiet residential area, I especially like that this park offers plenty of shade, perfect for those warm South Florida days. A thoughtful feature of this park is that it is fully fenced in for the safety of younger kids who might wander. This is especially important since there is a body of water nearby. Outside the enclosed space, a serene walking path loops around a small lake, with several benches where you can sit and unwind. Bring some food for a picnic, a frisbee or football, and enjoy a fun afternoon.

This City of Greenacres Park is a small neighborhood park between 2 and 3 acres at the most. It has…read morelimited facilities, but it's a nice little respite. There's a children's playground, a gazebo, and one covered picnic table (!) along with several benches. A fence separates the park from a small lake --where there was a gentleman fishing the day we stopped by. Right by the fence is the sign warning about an alligator in the water. Eek! But there is also a little shaded area under the tall pine trees that is a bit cooler and offers a break from the sun. This is not a destination park unless you live nearby. It is nice to know, however, that the City is taking care of its residents.

It's located on the south side of Lantana Road in Lake Worth. This is definitely for the young or young at heart -- especially the active person. There are so many varied sporting facilities included in this park. There are multipurpose fields for soccer/football -- some with scoreboards for community teams. There are volleyball and basketball courts. Two athletic young guys were playing one on one when we were there. For the really young there's a playground with equipment; restrooms, of course ; And: There's even a nearby pond for fishing. Then there is a gazebo, a picnic area, and also a pavilion. The covered pavilion holds about 100 people and can rented. Did I mention the very large parking lot for all the cars of visitors? Glad I stopped by...

The preserve is located on the north side of Ocean Avenue. There's a separate entrance and exit for cars. So we only got to see a very little bit of the preserve. However, I loved that they had great signage telling you what to look for in plant and animal life. And a small covered area just as you started the trail(s). This place is great for a little bit of hiking/walking, some birdwatching, photography, and communing with nature. You get to see a little bit of what Florida used to look like before all the construction and increase in human population. We will have to come back when it's cooler and drier to explore some more.

Signage was displayed everywhere, very easy to follow. So many volunteers for such an awesome event. I know that the event was the star of the day but it wouldn't have been possible without this great location. But just after one visit we realized what an amazing park this is and often drive from two cities away just to visit. This park is a lovely escape to nature in South Florida. Boosting, many walking paths, bike paths, a dog park, a splash pad, frisbee, golf pitch, fishing areas, boating lake and many other sports areas. Overall, the paths pavement are generally well maintained, however, you do get a little bit of cracking as you do with most paved areas in Florida due to the heat- nothing too extreme, it was still easy to push a stroller. The bathrooms are always clean, yet admittedly, they are quite dated and dark on the inside, even though hygienically they are up to standards . Perhaps adding some better lighting on the inside could help make it feel a little nicer. Today while walking around the park, we visited many of the small playgrounds and our young child enjoyed getting out to play .

This is a new playground between the Children's School House Museum and City Hall. It was called…read morethe Kids Kingdom because old playground had a castle structure that was built in 1996. It was a great playground and my daughter used to play on it when she was a child. Through the years the playground began to decay and it become dangerous with nails sticking out of the wood. When the old playground was demolished part of the castle structure was saved and moved to another playground. The new playground is part of the 16 acre Town Square project, a mixed use development that will include town hall, library, fire station, cultural venter, children's museum, amphitheater, green space, public art, and much more. The new playground was designed to make it easier for parents to keep an eye on their kids, something that was difficult in the old playground. The playground has climbing structures and slides. I especially love the large butterfly wings and grasses that are inspired by nature. The kids looked like they were having a blast today on the playground during the Pirate and Mermaid Festival. When they redid the park I'm glad they decided to save the large Kapok tree which provides much needed shade.

I was so excited to check out this newly built playground, and I could not have been more disappointed. There is just no way this playground was planned with input from experts or parents :( One of the main problems is that this 1 playground is actually separated into 2 playgrounds, 1 for younger children and one for older children. This would be fine if they were adjacent, but they are not; in fact, one playground cannot be seen from the other! Instead they are separated by a sidewalk (not fenced in and completely open to the road,) and due to a tall building and a slight corner turn, there is no way to see one playground from the other playground and vice versa. Therefore, 1 parent or caretaker cannot separate different aged children and watch both at the same time. Thus, the little playground is empty - because there is nothing here for older kids to do, while the older kid playground is chock full of little children, who are stuck with their older siblings. Not only are the littles using playground equiptment that is too old for them, several spinning apparatus consistently knocked over the younger kids once the piece started spinning. Also, the little playground is a bigger space than the older kids playground, despite all the kids being on the bid kid playground. Parent seating: there is no place for parents inside the fenced playground. There are benches placed outside of the fence for the parents, which is a terrible terrible practice. Now kids are falling over crying and their parents are on a bench outside of the playground. Lack of gate signs: The entrances to the gate of the playground are unmarked. Not a single sign or indicator or where or how to open the playground gate doors. Thus, it is very difficult to get in if you are a parent sitting on an outside bench, because the entire gate looks the same. Lack of signage: there are no signs on the little playground that faces the adjacent playground that indicates: name of playground, what the hours of the playground are, etc. Nothing! considering that the playground fence is physically attached to the back of the Old School Museum building, it is very unclear that this is in fact a public playground open to anyone, instead of a privately owned playspace. Also, there are no signs at each individual playground sharing the info that the other playground is around the corner. More poor planning: inside the big kids playground is a fenced storage area. This is not for kids, but for some reason it is actually inside of their fenced in playground. This makes absolutely no sense. Presumable some non-kid-friendly items live inside here, perhaps a trash bin or tools or chemicals? It would be so so easy for bored kids to climb this fence and go inside, or for someone to leave the door cracked or unlocked. I have never ever seen such strange planning for adult equipment to be kept inside a play space for kids. This playground is across from city hall and adjacent to municipal buildings, yet the only place for this hazardous stuff is inside the playground? Poor equipment: this playground may have been only a year old and already there is rust marks on most of the climbing material, one of the 2 very popular spinning pieces are broken. Also, the equipment is just not that fun. Having so many individual play pieces causes frustration and competition amongst the kids, and it would have made more sense to have communal pieces. This has to be some of the worst and unimaginitive play pieces I've seen of any playgrounds ever. And, no swings. And more: Lots of empty space inside, with zero nature, no trees or anything and no shade at all either.

First off, the park is in a residential section. To get to it from where we were, we had to go past a security guard and gate. Luckily, he just waved us in without having to explain our destination. I liked that the park had things for all ages so the very little kids wouldn't feel left out. For the big "kids", there's basketball courts, and tennis and pickleball courts. There's trees for shade plus benches and covered picnic tables, too. There a cute little lending library, swings for littles and one for smalls, slides, and a jungle gym (climbing structure). And in the back -- the splash pad. There's an on switch by the fence which activates a timer for the water. It sprays out of one area and turns and bubbles in another. The height of the water goes up and down, too. If only we'd worn our bathing suits! How lucky are the neighbors to have this lovely little park!

It is a small…read moreneighborhood park tucked near the northeast corner of the West Palm Beach Golf Course, just east of Forest Hill High School and the West Palm Beach Country Club. It's named after Mary Brandon, a local politician who served on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission in the 1960s. Established in 1999, this park holds the distinction of being the first dog park in the City of West Palm Beach. It features two separate fenced areas--one for small dogs (25 pounds and under) and another for larger dogs. Amenities include dog-friendly water fountains, play tunnels, as well as plenty of chairs, benches, and tables for owners to relax. In July 2019, the city unveiled a brand-new playground, replacing older equipment with updated, shade-covered slides and climbing structures. In addition to the dog park and playground, the park also offers picnic pavilions, a baseball field, restrooms, and a large open green space that's perfect for running around or getting some exercise. I really appreciate how the city created a space that caters to both kids and dogs. It's a welcoming, versatile park that serves the neighborhood well--perfect for a casual afternoon outdoors. I'd definitely come back, especially if I brought my dog or just wanted a quiet place to unwind outside for a while.

There is a nice playground area with a structure, benches, a softball field, a basketball court, a walking path, and open grass to run around in. For the pet owner, there are two dog "parks"/dog run areas for differing size dogs that are fenced in. When we stopped by, there was only one other car parked in the lot. It was lovely weather so I was surprised that more people were not taking advantage of the first sunny day in a while. There are some large old trees providing shade, too. We'd be here often if we lived in the neighborhood.

I came for the Rock n Roll chili festiva. It was fun. They had a nice car show happening. The event was free. They had many vendors here some giving things away and selling stuff. A few veterans educating the public and many motorcycles. I enjoyed the good live music playing. The fire trucks, a helicopter, and big army vehicles were also here on display. It was a nice, family, and dog-friendly event. I enjoyed my time. The event was well organized. They had staff guiding parking inside. it was a one hot day. It was nice this park had big trees to shade the event.

During his tenor in politics he served on many boards and won several awards. This 16.75 acre park was dedicated to Mayor Ferreri in 1990. Park amenities include 4 racquetball courts, 2 tennis courts, a playground, a large multi purpose field, 2 gazebos, 1 pavilion, picnic areas with grills, restrooms, an exercise path with stations, and a little free library. An interesting thing I noticed was that this park had sensory boards set up. Some people with special needs, like those with autism need sensory input. I have only seen these one other time, at a park in Miramar. This community park is the site of the Green Acres Green Market and Bazaar. The market is open on Sundays from 9 to 11 AM and it runs from October 11 through April 25th. The market sells produce, plants, and baked goods among it's items. If you are in the area it might be nice to stop by. I loved how this park is on the water and I enjoyed watching the many birds that were attracted to the area. Not so nice were the homeless people who took over the gazebo and pavilions but they didn't approach anyone. It is just not inviting to sit down when people are openly staring at you. Still this is a nice park that brings the community together for recreation and special events.

The north end has a band shell with a stage for performances with seating for 150 people, restroom facilities, 12 station Heart Trail, a boat ramp with four launching pads, boat trailer parking, horseshoe pits, and a fishing pier. There is also a public art area that has a benches, a mermaid sculpture, and murals. The south end has a bocce court, picnic pavilion, picnic tables, BBQ grills, restroom, playground, and boardwalk with a lookout platform on the water. Although the park is lovely with a beautiful view of the Lake Worth Lagoon a lot of homeless people congregate here. They don't bother anyone though. They are mostly just looking for a place to sleep. Bryant Park's parking lot serves the nearby Snook Islands Natural Area as well. Parking here can also be a good for the incredibly crowded street painting festival if you don't mind walking a few blocks to the west downtown area.

There is ample parking on this side, either by pulling up on the one way street in front of it or pulling in and parking in the oceanfront parking lot. A sidewalk runs from this side of the park all the way to the Lake Avenue side of Bryant Park, which is a large grassy area with an amphitheater. But the Park also includes a boat ramp, exercise equiptment, fields often used for casual soccer or other games, and a little dock with a cover that goes out onto the Intracoastal and can be used for fishing. The playground side has a rentable covered picnic table area and bathrooms which are questionable. A lot of adults hand at the picnic area, but the playground area is in the middle of that side of the park, with a paved sidewalk around it, and no trees to block your view in this unfenced playground. There is a swing set that can face the ocean, and tiled concrete picnic tables, as well as some benches. Very dog friendly spot, and squirrels abound. Some folks fish on the concrete edge along the Intracoastal, but the rocks at the bottom make this difficult for small people. We saw a sea turtle the last time we visited.
