This place is even more run down than last time and costs even more. We paid $80 to get in return swim. We went to the "dining" area to eat the sandwiches we brought and were told that the dining area is only for people who bought food from their snack bar and that if we are going to eat our food, we need to go outside. I looked around multiple times and I seen no signs stating this rule. We spent $80 and need to go outside to eat a snack. When I come back in the dining area has people's things all over the tables and nowhere to eat for people buying food anyways. The lady just seems to like to chew people out and gets a kick out of it. I don't ever want to come back. Your experience may vary of course but I don't like spending a decent amount of money to swim and then be treated poorly. Oh, and throw some paint on the place, yikes. read more

OMG. Don't go there. Overcrowded. Small public pool. Most of all they don't allow you to use a shower afterwards. No soap allowed. Just allowed a quick rinse off in a small public area like beach shower rinse off. At least on the beach you are allowed soap very un hygienic. Dangerous place in my opinion. I don't even know how they get a license to operate from the state when they don't even allow soap to rinse off with even cold water!!! read more

Credits given to a clean facility, friendly staff, and a fair soaking price. Came on a Wednesday around noon and spent a few hours soaking, lounging, soaking again, and even getting some light exercise in! "Crowd" ranged from 10 - 17 people, including kids/infants, so not crowded at all and people were respectful of social distancing. A few people wearing masks. Not surprising for outdoor venue. Previous review mentioned the showers are not free, but they do have 2 next to the pools for free, required "quick rinse only" (prior to getting in a MUST) which was fine for us. Pool does not have sulphuric smell I'm accustomed too, so when we'd had our fill, we quick rinsed, dried off, then back into street clothes for the drive back to our motel to shower before dinner. Another reviewer noted that they have everything you need to enjoy the pools, towels, floaters and noodles, etc., but forgot to mention all are available for a rental fee. They do provide hangers and baskets in the changing room for complimentary use, but most people just brought a day bag to keep their items at a table or lounge chair with them. There is a locker, but bring your own lock. And your own towels, if you don't want to rent. $5 deposit/towel, you get $3 back when you return the towel. Noodles are listed at $3 rental, as of 12/1/21 Snack bar made a very good chocolate shake! No outside food is allowed, but you're allowed to picnic on the grounds. We left the lunch cooler in the car and we're allowed to go out and picnic at the tables on the park like grounds, which was perfect, then come back in to the pools. I noticed one guy had, what had to be a 32oz bottle, of juice. Don't know if he bought it there, but others had personal metal water bottles and it didn't seem to be an issue. Wow, perfect after long day of snowboarding this place is!!! Natural hot spring water sprouting onto you felt great. Showers and bathroom amenities were also available and clean, plenty of lounging chairs also available. The place is divided into swim pool and soaking hot temperature area but don't expect jacuzzi jets because this is as natural as you can get. So enjoy the OG feel and soak it all in!! read more

If you enjoy old school summer camp like vibes with semi-restored facilities, creeks, mineral pools, hot springs, then this is your place. No real food options just snacks. The Mineral Pool closes at 6 which is very early. On the plus side, The RV campground parking spot was nice. It was shaded with trees and grass. We got the best spot next to the creek. The mineral pool was gigantic and clean except I would recommend wearing water shoes because the floor of the pool was chipping and kind of gross looking. We didn't want to look too closely. Same for the showers. The bathroom was decent. There's an additional small hot pool next to the mineral pool. All of these pools are coming from natural geothermal hot spring water from the mountain which is cool. All in all we kinda liked the old school vibe and had a good time. read more

Went there on a hot day, but early enough to spend a solid hour soaking. Upon entry I was comforted by a sign left over from COVID which state no health department protocols will be followed. My immune system likes a good challenge, and I got my wristband. There are two pools, no temperatures posted, a soaking pool and one for swimming. The soaker is about 3 feet deep and thankfully covered and hot. The swimming pool was room temperature with the sprayer, and with all the kids having a great time I could have been at Motel 6. But its all about the soaking pool which felt great and worth the admission. If you're in the area and never visited a hot spring it's worth a try, but after walking barefoot to the bathroom and thinking about their posted attitude about germs, I'll pass on revisiting. read more

Well maintained considering it's history and age. Definitely cleaner than the Hot Mineral/Springs facilities in Palm Springs/Desert area. Diverse group of all ages visiting this place. The large pool (8ft Deep) has body temp warm water and the smaller pool (2-3ft Deep) is nice and hot. Don't worry if you forget your towel (Towel Rental for $5). If you like mineral hot springs this is a quaint place to visit. The Bishop/ Mammoth area has lots of natural hot springs but it's often a total schlep and hit or miss as to how crowded and how nekkid everyone will be. This hot springs is family friendly and the vibe is vintage California circa 1950s or 1960's. It's a simple laid back place with a regular pool (with mineral water piped in from above) and a two foot deep hot spa area to the side (about 15x15?) There's like a basic cafe here with soft drinks and snacks and junk food (nachos, etc). You can't bring outside food but we didn't have a problem bringing in our hydroflasks with water and I had a Starbucks no one gave me grief over. Outside you can grill and pic-nic and there is a camp ground. We stayed in Bishop which is about ten minutes away. read more

My review is only about the pool My husband is the one who found this place. Keough is a gem in so many ways. Has a couple kinks to it, but I'll give you pointers. Our GPS was a complete idiot and didn't know the road to turn on, so make sure if you go here, know it's all the way down towards the mountain. Park your car, head in and pay the nice employee $12 (2019 prices) per person. They sell bottled water, ice cream, and other snacks. Outside food is not allowed. There is a quaint gift shop across the way. Tables and chairs to eat on. What is asked of you is that you shower before you enter the pools. They don't have chlorine in the water, it's pure hot springs H2O. My hair and skin felt so soft after going here. You'll need to bring all your essentials, swimsuit, bag, shower items, towel, and a bag for your wet swimsuit. The women's room has individual changing rooms with curtains. And the bathroom also has curtains, make sure you hold that curtain or put something warning someone that you're in there, a lady opened my curtain while I was going pee, and she screamed as if she saw a murder. My husband said the men's room doesn't have any doors or curtains in their bathroom, so I suggested to him that he place a towel over the area to show it's in use. Think I did see some lockers in a corner, don't know if they work, this place is old. People are paying customers, but if you are leary, don't bring tons of money or valuable. The pools. Largest pool is 90* hot and the smaller pool is 101*. Both are amazing and just what we needed to rest our bones after hiking around. We spent about 2 hours here playing in the water. One of our favorite features is this rainfall simulator pouring over 1/3 of the pool. Certain parts feel warmer than the next and like a massage on your back. So good! If you are in the area, make time for this wonderful gem. read more

So we camped here at Keough's Campground in late June. Even though the desert is typically hot this time is year this campground offers a lot of shade and the area has a decent breeze. We were fairly comfortable without using our AC for most of the weekend. The campground is located near the hot-spring which was a great way too cool down during the day. My only issue with this campground is the janitor insists on emptying all of the trash cans at 7am or so. 3 campers near me all complained about this. I even spoke to the office but apparently that's when the trash needs to be collected. So if you stay here expect to be awakened at 7am or so. read more

I came here in September and it was better than I expected based on the reviews. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had towels and everything we needed. The hot spring pool is very relaxing and the kids loved it! We stayed in the tent cabin which was done really nice...adorable yet functional. The tent cabins come complete with locking doors, electric, fans, heaters...they've thought of everything you would need. There is wifi although the signal was weak...keep in mind you are hundreds of feet from the main office. - There really is nothing to do outside of the hot springs so bring your board games, deck of cards, and other fun stuff. - Don't forget to go to Bishop where you can find Erick Schats bakery and other great places to eat - People do live there in RVs so I would think they appreciate it when people keep the noise down. I actually liked how peaceful and quiet it was with the beautiful backdrop of the Eastern Sierras - They did a good job of maintaining social distancing. Overall everything is outdoors so I would say its ideal for the current situation we are in with Covid-19 If you're coming from the craziness of L.A. like me this place is a breath of fresh air...highly recommend it. read more

Getting there: From the highway, you will make a left turn but you have to be careful not to pass it because it creeps up on you. Then you follow Keough Hot Springs Road and on the right side there will be a trail. Experience: We stayed at the RV site, but since we arrived later at night we woke up early the next morning to get in the hot spring. We only sat in one of the pools but apparently there were other pools. There was a sign that warned us not to sick our head in the water because of some type of contamination. I booked the tent cabin, which is kinda pricey and it's supposed to have a working heater. The propane heater worked for about an hour then was empty and no pilot to light. Needless to say I did not bring my winter sleeping bag so I froze all night in the 30 degree weather. I gave it 4 stars for the pool. Not the cheap over priced food or for the shape of the place. You turn on to keough's hot springs from hwy 395 it's about half way between Bishop and Big Pine. If you blink you will miss it. So you drive up the road and dead end right into it. Big building has a small piece of astro turf in front. You walk inside and pay at the snack bar to the right. I think it's $10 for adults. It's open all year round the water is naturally heated as its mineral water that flows in and has no chlorine. They close once a week to clean and completely drained every week on Tuesdays. The pool is big, uncovered and goes to 8 feet deep and you must shower before entering. There is a giant sprinkler at the shallow end that constantly fills the pool and behind that there is a huge hot tub (about the size of your average living room dining room combo). The hot tub is covered by the roof just like the snack bar, eating area and gift shop. The bad part is you have to sit on the ground in the hot tub no seats. Everything is made out of cement and you see the cracks everywhere just like a sidewalk. I always wonder why they don't just close for a week and repair those. But aside from that there is a teenage lifeguard on duty seems to change every hour. The lifeguards also make the food. As for food you have your choice between sandwiches, nachos, hot dogs and the usual stuff you find at a little league snack shack. Over priced in my opinion. But then again it's owned by the same people who own Brown's Town campgrounds. They are notorious for jacking up prices. read more

I used to love this place, I still do, but after they double booked me and checked the wrong month off, I arrived and my spot was already taken, still no big deal, things happen. Today I called to reserve another spot and was informed that I am no longer allowed to reserve spots because I no call, no showed.. I explained my situation and what had a happened, they didn't care. She was incredibly rude and I will never give them my business again. And being it's owned by the brown family, I will no longer support any of their businesses again. Completely unprofessional. They couldn't care less that the mess up was on their end. I'd give them a chance to correct this and I'd happily support them again, but the woman I spoke to needs to learn some damn respect. Great place to relax and unwind after a few chilly days of snow activities. Only a few minutes south of Bishop. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too packed, which was great. There were a few kids, but mostly adults. Two water areas..one much hotter and the other is a warm swimming pool. There are changing rooms and baskets to place your belongings in. They have lounge chairs there too. And, you must do a shower rinse prior to entering either of the pools. This hot springs location has what you need... relaxation. read more

Campground and hot springs were outstanding. Public toilets for campers are very clean and heated during cold weather. Tokens from campground are used for the showers. We hooked up to 30amp but the water wasn't turned on yet due to freezing temps. A heated hose is available to fill up potable water tanks. They have a small store for snacks, s'more needs and other essentials. Hot snacks are also served when the pool is open. My mother and I visited in early March. Staff wore masks and they are very kind and helpful for any question or request. I hiked on the short rock garden trail and explored the stone ruins of original bath house built in the 1920's now with the skeleton of tumbling down rafters. Well maintained Grassy Picnic areas are available with tables & manicured picnic grounds. We enjoyed the natural hot water pools for Water Aerobics classes on Weds morning, Thurs evening and Fri morning. Two instructors gave us an outstanding workout! While we were exercising it even began to snow with steam rising from the hot pool it was simply magical! We will definitely come again for camping and to enjoy the hot springs! read more

Decided to take a quick break from fishing so we stopped in for a couple hours. Over the hill, pass the dirt road, you'll run into the mini hot springs/camp site type facility the kind of reminded of just a simple outdoor cabin like poolside. Don't expect fancy 5 star, or even a 4 star poolside facility. Just walk in with an open mind, and an idea that you're here just to do one thing, and that's to cool off, or warm up in the heated hot spring like pool. The facility has one large pool that has a large fountain. We pretty much spent most of our time there. I would describe it as an oversized shower. The temperature of the water was in the mid 80s and the pool itself was nice and warm as well. Behind the pool was a heated pool that supposedly ran much hotter. I didn't go in. They have changing rooms (male/female) and showers were mandatory prior to going in the pool. Overall, somewhat okay experience for what it's worth. I'd stop in again just to chill for an hour or two. read more

I had a great time here! The staff was all lovely. They had life vests available for kiddos and pool noodles as well. We came on a Thursday and all the lounges were in use, so we grabbed a table and chairs and shortly after hit the water. It was nice and warm and we enjoyed it for hours. Bad RV experience. Paid for full hookups but water was off completely. Complained to woman owner she was nasty lied that she had emailed everyone I said we did not get an email then she lied again that she didn't have our email I show ed her our registration with our email listed right on it she got even nastier refused to refund us. It got worse. We went out to dinner returned to find the entire area blocked by 30 cars loud drunken party could not get anywhere close to our site with our truck. Office phone did not answer they did nothing to enforce quiet or our access to our site. Went on until 3am with loud drunks pissing and staggering on our site.
