After seeing a few dire motels, we debated driving through the night home, but thankfully we stumbled upon Wayfinder. The walk in rates are reasonable given what you get. A great bar and dinner area with a super comfy and cozy lobby, delicious free buffet breakfast, super cozy beds, a beautiful creek with chairs and outdoor seating, gardens with secluded benches, a pool, a hot tub, and free chocolate chip cookies. It was super easy to eat outside with our dog and still enjoy the amenities. They also gave us a treat bag upon checkin which was very sweet. I'm not sure what else you could hope for in a small mountain town, but I'd definitely return!

Before booking, travelers should understand that Wayfinder appears to enforce its cancellation policy even when a major wildfire prevents the original trip from taking place. The hotel offered to convert my one night reservation into a credit, but only if I selected and confirmed new travel dates within 48 hours. In my view, that is not a reasonable accommodation. When travel is unexpectedly disrupted by a natural disaster, it can take weeks or months to determine when a replacement trip will be possible. A more customer-friendly approach would be to issue a credit valid for 6-12 months and allow guests to book new dates when their plans are finalized. We also discussed moving the reservation forward by one night to accommodate our revised itinerary. While I understand that weekend rates are higher, the additional cost would have been several hundred dollars, making that option impractical. As a result, I lost the cost of one night's stay and will not be booking with Wayfinder in the future. This was my first experience with the company, and unfortunately it left me with the impression that there is little flexibility for guests facing extraordinary circumstances beyond their control. Management already has my contact information. I hope you'll reconsider and issue a credit that can be used within the next year, rather than requiring a new reservation to be booked within 48 hours.

Pros: The entrance is nice. I can tell they upgraded it recently. Looks clean and I can see the effort made to make it nice. They have water and ice in the lobby, which is nice. The fitness room is decent for a motel. Breakfast isn't much but it's filling. It works. It's toast, cereal, bagels, egg whites, oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, apples, milk, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese and coffee. It's not gourmet but it works. The breakfast place is nice, clean and upgraded. I do feel like they try their best to make this place comfortable. The effort shows. I love that the entrance to the rooms is indoors. It's walking distance to restaurants and the park. I'm assuming this is the downtown. I had a dog and they were very friendly and accommodating. I love that they have a bathtub. I have toddlers so it was a nice way to bathe them. Plenty of parking. Cons: One of the major disappointments for me is the wifi. It's extremely slow. This is a big major point for me because I have to work on my laptop and when videos aren't loading it's difficult to work. The doors look old and outdated. It just lowers the aesthetic. There are no elevators, which I already knew. I can overlook that though, my main compliant is the WiFi, especially for the price.

The first impression wasn't great. The front doors to the lobby were dirty, and the entryway leading to our room smelled strongly of urine. There was also dried dog waste that appeared to have been there for some time. Our room had ants, which was disappointing, especially considering the nightly rate of $232. The breakfast was also below expectations. The eggs were runny, the sausage was overcooked, and the coffee was some of the worst we've had during our trip. The biggest disappointment was the customer service. Ben at the front desk was rude and condescending, which made an already disappointing stay even worse. After staying at numerous Best Western properties on this trip, we know the level of quality the brand is capable of. Unfortunately, this location fell far short of those standards. At $232 a night, we expected a much cleaner property, better customer service, and a more enjoyable experience. We would not choose to stay here again.Do Not Recommend!!

Decent wifi speed when I did a speedtest but decided to stick with my TMobile cellular data and had good signal. Basic Cable TV but not HD so picture was fuzzy. Parking is right outside your unit. Have to back out of your space but wasn't too bad. It was 100 degrees in town but once I set the AC to 68 degrees, I was able to get cool in the room. Adriana at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is two short blocks from Hwy 395 so very quiet. Walking distance to several restaurants. Overall, it was fine for a solo fishing trip.

It went on for several hours until almost 11 PM. When it happened again the second night, I contacted to front office to complain to the owner. To my surprise, I learned that the dogs were his! I listened politely as he told me he had no idea the dogs could be heard in other rooms, and that I shouldn't worry about them because they were fine. Didn't believe either of those claims. But I didn't hear the dogs again after that.

I like how spacious the parking lot is. The location is ideal, right in the center of everything. Walking distance from Schat's Bakery & other restaurants, & right next to the park, so it's great for people who have dogs staying with them. I did notice there are a good amount of guests that have pets with them here - so this business is pet friendly! Our room was ready by the time we checked in & was clean. Walls can be a little thin, but we still had a good night's sleep. My favorite part of the stay was the continental breakfast included with our room - sausages, eggs, gravy & biscuits & all the usual options like cereal & fruit & pancakes. The staff were always on site, cleaning tables & refilling food. Such a filling meal, especially for a day of snowboarding ahead. We didn't use the extra amenities but they were nice to have - indoor pool, sauna, exercise room. Overall we would be delighted to come back!

Check-in instructions said my room door would be open and the key would be inside. They got the "door open" part right. The key, however, was participating in a completely different vacation. I called, and to their credit, they quickly brought one over. After unpacking, I discovered a lovely collection of treasures left behind by previous guests: press-on nails, perfume, random personal items, and what appeared to be either a sex toy or the world's most confusing shower accessory sitting on a dirty towel. Staff offered me another room, but at that point I was already unpacked and emotionally invested in seeing how much stranger this stay could get. Then I hopped in the shower and discovered there was no soap or shampoo. Apparently cleanliness was an optional add-on package. They did bring some after I called. The night's entertainment featured a woman driving onto the property, jumping out to argue with some guys, speeding off dramatically, then returning later for the encore performance. The walls were apparently made from the same material as potato chips because I could hear every conversation outside my door. Overall, if you're looking for a luxury experience, keep driving. If you're looking for a hotel that feels like a deleted scene from a low-budget crime documentary, this place absolutely delivers.

Quality Inn Bridgeport, CA…read more UPDATE!!!! PD (Bridgeport PD) officer Lawson, badge 485, and TWO Bridgeport Firefighters were called by me. As overnight multiple dozens of ants covered the TV credenza and desk. While looking for the source discovered microwave has BARE wires, shock and fire hazard. FD had to pull credenza from wall to disconnect. General Mgr Dan Juarez said "well that's just how it is" (ants) and "rooms only get maintenance every 6mo" and then told us to leave the property. Officer and the two FD saw the ants and bare wires. They said "yes this is a big problem" PD and FD filed official reports. Report number and names forwarded to Quality Inn corporate. Mayors office, chamber of commerce, and Inyo Register (News) contacted. I am told FD, because now officially an incident, will conduct an inspection of the property. Additional pix of ants etc. added. WTF? Tooo late now, I'm literally here as I post this. WHAT A DUMP. STAY AWAY. Nothing is great alone 395, but this might be the worst.

The only big deal was the unusable tub. I asked to switch rooms I was given room 117, this had the pubic hair on the toilet set and the creepy large gap behind a long mirror. I decided not to stay in these room.

Behind this mirror is NOT a flat wall. There's a gap 2-3 inch deep and almost completely as long as the mirror.
