Upsides: Comfy beds New High quality material throughout Beauty in the details Smelled of bleach upon entering our room which I was happy about because bleach doesnt mask the smell it gets rid of it. Clean floors Really happy we decided to stay here Really cool community room Great smelling soaps Bakery nearby El pollo loco nearby Airstream coffee shop on the grounds Possible downsides: Biggest complaint, our room needed an additional Ac unit. It was hot in our room (treasure room). No fridge inside the room (but there's a shared community fridge available) No TV in the room (not an issue if you bring a laptop or tablet) We really enjoyed our stay here! The beds were very comfortable, and everything felt new and high-quality with beautiful attention to detail. The room smelled clean and fresh--like bleach unpin entering our room, which I appreciated since it means it was truly sanitized. The floors were spotless, the soaps smelled wonderful in the bathroom, and overall, it was such a pleasant experience. There wasn't a fridge or TV in the room, but that wasn't a big deal for us since we had our laptop. We're really happy we chose to stay here!

I love the thoughtfulness of this place. we made a last minute booking after a failed backpacking trip and despite this, we enjoyed our stay at Eastside. We booked the 6 Bunkbed unit. The beds were twin size and each have curtains for privacy. We love the idea of communal kitchen. Even it is, the area is tidy and clean with tools provided. Suggestion: it would be nice to have a charging point for each bunk:)

Beautiful place. Clean, friendly staff, great location. Be sure to stop at the silver Airstream trailer for some homemade ice cream too.

    Moonlight Room. Queen Bed.

This was a beautiful, quaint place to stay. What a delight! It is a bivy, so people not knowing how to read and left bad reviews, shame on you. These people are delightful and very accommodating! So happy to have stayed here and had the experience. Thank you for a great stay. Loved the area with so much to see!

My husband and I are both in our 70's. We booked a room showing a queen size bed, not knowing it would turn out to be bunk beds. We arrived and went to the room. There were 6 bunk beds and a tiny bathroom. My husband has Parkinson's Diseases, and he needs large spaces otherwise he falls. We went to the office and told them we needed a refund. The girl called her manager and she told us to get in touch with booking.com. because they won't get paid unless we checked in. That was Sunday. Today is Wednesday and guess who got our $160.36 ? Eastside Guest House. Not a good way to run a business

We stayed here when visiting Bishop for my sons rodeo. From the first interaction to the last everything was perfect. I booked by calling instead of using Hotels.com I told them what I needed and they put us in the perfect room. Check in was easy they text you a code to get in your room. Mine didn't work so I called them and they gave me a new code right away. The rooms don't have tv, microwave but the do have a communal lounge, kitchen area. You can store your food in the refrigerator just make sure to put your name in things. They have anything you might need to cook your meal there. Plenty of seating and a nice fireplace. They also have hot water going for coffee and hot chocolate. Everyone that works there is so nice and helpful. Anytime I am on the area I will definitely stay here. Room was very comfortable for the three of us. * you are directly next door to Schatts Bakery so you can't go wrong. The only thing I would hope they would get is some type of table in the bathroom to put your makeup and hair stuff on. The sink has zero counter space I was having to put my stuff in the sink.

A hidden gem amidst the main drag. Like a motel done by Patagonia. Hip. Immaculate. Amusing. Well thought out. Serene. Super location. The famous and incredible Erick Schat's Bakkery is right next door. Great walking to restaurants. Even the mobile home park behind is tranquil and has a little water fall. Vegetable garden. Pond. Group backpackers kitchen. Honest. Pure. Magic.

So much better than expected. Maybe I pictured a bunch of smelly tourists all hanging out there, packing backpacks and whatever ...I was wrong. So enough of my imagination. I just created all that from the name. The service on the reservation was really well done. Email information was very helpful. Our king room was clean and stylish with nice additions. I notice things like digital thermostats and usb ports on the bedside lamps. The price was fair. The location was close to several great food choices. I liked the frogs in the back. Some people won't. They seem to stop around midnight. Maybe it was just me sleeping like a baby. You have done an amazing job making this nice. And I must add...there is this cat therenamed Lucy and she is amazingly friendly and will say hello often but she's casual about it. I don't like cats as much as dogs (but they love me), but I just lost mine a few months ago and Lucy was the first cat I pet in six months. She was purrrrfect for me. It really hit a good spot. Thanks Lucy. Enjoy your stay.

Driving up from LA during the atmospheric River largest storm in 40 years I got stuck in Bishop when they closed 395 North going to Mammoth on Sunday evening. I called Eastside guest House and spoke with Tiffany who was very friendly. She initially booked me for a king room but someone else booked it online first so she upgraded me to a treasure room with King and two bunk beds. It was a very nice room, super clean. The bunk beds mattresses are a little soft for me but the king mattress was super hard and firm which I liked. All mattresses feel like quality memory foam. It is next to main Street and they provide plenty of ear plugs to help you sleep. There is a nice community room with excellent coffee and kitchen set up. The stove is not working so they have a microwave. There is a super sweet and friendly cat that came to say hello and even slept on another guest's lap on the sofa. It feels very cozy here and I would definitely recommend it and stay here again. Definitely worth paying a few extra dollars for the comfort. I love their window roller shades, very effective!

Second timer. I love this spot, I stayed at the Moonlight room which is a queen sized bedroom with a small desk and 1 bathroom. It is prefect for 2 people. PROS: Aesthetically pretty Clean Quiet Community Room (has a full kitchen and water station) Hammocks and lawn games outside for guests Friendly staff Complimentary fresh brewed coffee in the mornings Right next store to a great bakery Laundry service on-site (small fee) CONS: There is a cat that roams around (fyi in case you are not a cat person or are allergic) Not ideal for large adult groups who want to stay in the same room -- better for a family with two kids because the larger rooms offer 1 bed (Queen or King sized) and a bunk bed not a second full sized bed.

I like how spacious the parking lot is. The location is ideal, right in the center of everything. Walking distance from Schat's Bakery & other restaurants, & right next to the park, so it's great for people who have dogs staying with them. I did notice there are a good amount of guests that have pets with them here - so this business is pet friendly! Our room was ready by the time we checked in & was clean. Walls can be a little thin, but we still had a good night's sleep. My favorite part of the stay was the continental breakfast included with our room - sausages, eggs, gravy & biscuits & all the usual options like cereal & fruit & pancakes. The staff were always on site, cleaning tables & refilling food. Such a filling meal, especially for a day of snowboarding ahead. We didn't use the extra amenities but they were nice to have - indoor pool, sauna, exercise room. Overall we would be delighted to come back!

Pros: The entrance is nice. I can tell they upgraded it recently. Looks clean and I can see the effort made to make it nice. They have water and ice in the lobby, which is nice. The fitness room is decent for a motel. Breakfast isn't much but it's filling. It works. It's toast, cereal, bagels, egg whites, oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, apples, milk, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese and coffee. It's not gourmet but it works. The breakfast place is nice, clean and upgraded. I do feel like they try their best to make this place comfortable. The effort shows. I love that the entrance to the rooms is indoors. It's walking distance to restaurants and the park. I'm assuming this is the downtown. I had a dog and they were very friendly and accommodating. I love that they have a bathtub. I have toddlers so it was a nice way to bathe them. Plenty of parking. Cons: One of the major disappointments for me is the wifi. It's extremely slow. This is a big major point for me because I have to work on my laptop and when videos aren't loading it's difficult to work. The doors look old and outdated. It just lowers the aesthetic. There are no elevators, which I already knew. I can overlook that though, my main compliant is the WiFi, especially for the price.

This was our first time and we had our dog so finding a pet friendly hotel that's decent, is always a challenge. This one checked all the boxes. It's close to the bakery and walking distance to other fast food and eateries. Parking can be tricky if you get there too late. But there were more spaces on the other side that we didn't know about until we walked our dog. There's also a bowling alley nearby. We only stayed for one night and it really was more like a 12- hour stay but it was enough to get rested, fed and our room was comfortable. The breakfast selection was pretty well stocked. It's a grab and go style so we were able to take it on the road with us. I would consider staying here again.

Before booking, travelers should understand that Wayfinder appears to enforce its cancellation policy even when a major wildfire prevents the original trip from taking place. The hotel offered to convert my one night reservation into a credit, but only if I selected and confirmed new travel dates within 48 hours. In my view, that is not a reasonable accommodation. When travel is unexpectedly disrupted by a natural disaster, it can take weeks or months to determine when a replacement trip will be possible. A more customer-friendly approach would be to issue a credit valid for 6-12 months and allow guests to book new dates when their plans are finalized. We also discussed moving the reservation forward by one night to accommodate our revised itinerary. While I understand that weekend rates are higher, the additional cost would have been several hundred dollars, making that option impractical. As a result, I lost the cost of one night's stay and will not be booking with Wayfinder in the future. This was my first experience with the company, and unfortunately it left me with the impression that there is little flexibility for guests facing extraordinary circumstances beyond their control. Management already has my contact information. I hope you'll reconsider and issue a credit that can be used within the next year, rather than requiring a new reservation to be booked within 48 hours.
