Great place to camp... (except when we were there.. it was too hot..) The campsite is great, The Bathroom is extremely clean!..... the maintenance guy kept up pretty well to maintain the bathroom clean. The shower is clean and it's a good size shower. You do need to purchase their TOKEN... $2 for 1 Token for 7 minutes of hot water ... OR it's FREE cold water... The staff is also working very hard to keep the trash bins empty for us to use. The staff is friendly... they are a very young staff. Checking in and checking out was a breeze. You may want to make sure if you are using tents like us to camp there... ask for the shaded area and be sure to bring PLENTY of CANOPY and portable fans perhaps... The bottom line is we will come back but not in the summer time tho... Awesome place and highly recommended.... The staff person that cleans the bathroom needs to have his pay raised..

The quality of any campground isn't just the services and amenities but the people running it. We were greeted with a smile at the front desk, all questions answered and requests handled. The grounds are clean, RV spots level on dirt with water and electricity at each space and a dump station at the front of the property. The park is tree covered with clean bathrooms and showers. It was $40 a night at the writing of this with an additional $5 for the dump station if you stay the night and $20 if you're just passing through. The views of the snow covered Sierra mountains are breathtaking wnd the wind through the Aspen trees are very relaxing. There is also a little general store with homemade pie, ice cream, fire wood, laundry machines, a horse shoe pit with horse shoes, green grass for your dog to walk around on and kids to play. Over all, we had a great stay. Thank you to the staff for working so hard to keep this park clean. Would definitely return.

Great campground. Staff was very helpful and store is nice feature. Had driven by this for years. Lots of things to do in Bishop and good fishing just up the mountains. Don't miss a Great deli sandwich for lunch

Brown's Town is amazing every single time. The grounds themselves are immaculate. Dozens of dry tent camp sites, many RV sites as well, water and electric. South side of Bishop, just before you enter town. An old west feel with a museum of sorts. Plenty of space for extra curricular activities. Horse shoe pit at the west end (bring your own shoes). Bathrooms and showers. Tokens needed and can be purchased at the store. Store has some basic necessities, including firewood charcoal and the like.. Even more important, pie, ice cream and beer. Butts up against a golf course, which has a driving range as well as putting and chipping. Makes for a nice activity while camping. Of course there's tons of hiking every where and even just walking around the streets behind is nice. A drive to Bristlecone makes for a great day trip and if you've never been, I highly recommend it. Lots of grass and shade. Everyone is pretty well behaved and the employees are very nice and very responsive. I'll drive past hundreds of campgrounds from LA just to come here. Bishop is amazing and has a theater and bowling alley fairly close which adds to the experience. Great spot for biking as well. It's my Disneyland and I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Overall a decently maintained campground. Staff is friendly. Campsites come in various sizes with the options of Dry Camping, Water/Electricity and Pull-Thru (mostly dirt) sites. Lots of trees with plenty of shade (not all sites) during this time of year (spring). Bathrooms and Showers are as expected and clean enough for being a privately owned campground. Attempted to take a shower (front building) but NO HOT WATER was coming out. Called the office and the girl that came out said it should be working. She mentioned each shower works off a timer and sometimes you have to wait for it to cycle through. After spending about 40 mins going from one shower stall to another and still no hot water. Gave up and just took a bird bath in the bathroom sink. Went to the office and got a refund for the shower tokens. Convict Lake Resort has a more reliable shower system. There is NO Secure Online-Reservation system. You have to call the office and read your Personal and Credit Card Info over the phone to who knows who in order to reserve. There is plenty of Firewood available to purchase at the office for about $8 a bundle. If you are a light sleeper, the street (Schober Lane) that runs along the outside of the campground has all kinds of loud vehicles that will on occasion go up and down the street throughout the night.

Came to camping over the weekend nice clean spot. It's more of a RV parking type spot but you can also camp to. They got clean restrooms with clean showers. Showers are with tokens which are 25 cents for 7 minutes has hit water. The bad thing is there is no lake or river or anything in the camp site you gotta drive min 10 mins to go close by water or to even fish. Overall nice place to camp or bring a RV.

Beautiful campground. Friendly staff. Super clean bathrooms and showers! I don't like camping but coming here for the first time changed my mind about camping. Me and my family enjoyed it. You won't be disappointed. I'm very picky and wants everything nice so this one I brag to all my friends and family. Experience it for yourself!

Food is amazing, but service really depends on who is working. Sometimes they hire wonderful, sweet…read morepeople, but they also seem to hire mean girls. As other customers have commented, they make you feel like you're an inconvenience and charge you for it. Yet wait for it -because my friend went in today the very same day on Mother's Day totally different group of people and she had a bad experience too! On Mother's Day, I ordered an arugula salad (it wasn't on the menu yet I saw others eating it). It looked amazing, and I substituted the prosciutto for pesto/olive tapenade--great veggie option. Yes, the owners should make this a menu item. I also ordered a delicious Muscat dessert wine and a cupcake, and everything was pretty awesome. I asked why it wasn't on the menu, and they said people just come in knowing what to order. Several times I've ordered something from the menu, only to be told it's not available, which is confusing because then it comes back on the menu, and they get annoyed when you order something that is supposed to be served. Anyway, everything was great; I was treating myself and happy to splurge... until... Right after I received my food, the server immediately asked for my card. I requested her to bring the bill at the end, as usual, since I wasn't prepared to order more, and I thought the amount was enough. The rose frozen yogurt looked yum, so I decided to use a small sample cup instead of the plastic ones, as the girls were in the back. I didn't want to bother them and thought it would be a fun way to avoid waste. She rushed out with another server, almost making a scene--embarrassing, as I was about to take a photo and mention folks should eat there. She asked me to pay for the sample. I decided not to, and I'm glad I sent it back because the secret salad, not on the menu, was $20, and the wine along with the cupcake turned out to be nearly $40. Every place I've worked at that makes the customer happy usually gets a great tip! You'd think a sample wouldn't be a big deal. I definitely let her know, especially since it was already pricey. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've had service that's just not very nice. I want to let the owners know I love your location and your place, but the service is often rude. The blonde server was sweet and great, but the other "manager" was not. Many people I try to bring here cringe- we like the place, but they say the service is rude. The women make you feel uncomfortable with disapproving looks. Especially today, it's a day to honor mothers. If not, you'll hear from us with our tip. Tip: Would be a 5, but the energy of the servers drops it to a 2; the food raises it to a 3. Owners, you should know. I didn't leave a cash tip-- would have left $10 to be treated well. That's my tip. Every time we go back, we wonder if we want to deal with a mean server. Every time. then my friend, who also went there today for Mother's Day with her entire family they have a huge family. They brought four kids for adult adults and this is what she told me after I shared my review. "That's so crazy that you sent that they were so rude to me today the dark haired lady when I asked her what cupcake flavors she had left. It was like I was pulling teeth to get the flavors from her service is always crappy here." Owners please talk to your staff. They are just not nice.

The eggs and avocado i ordered on the side were fresh and yummy. My daughter who is quite the picky eater had a pancake and she loved it! My boyfriend likes the waffles here so I wanted to give it a try and it did not disappoint! It's an American style waffle so they are thinner and crispier than a Belgium. The texture was great and I heard they even use a home made batter! I also wanted some protein so I ordered one of the griddle combos that included eggs with the waffles. The strawberry and cream waffle was also delicious and not too sweet ! it tasted more natural versus artificially sweetened. Our server, Josh, was very tentative and had recommended the strawberry waffle. He came back to check if he needed any additional sauces as well as coffee/water refills. Service was prompt and the food came out quickly! Which was great since we had a long drive home.
