She took the time to thoughtfully darken and melt my root into my blonde, carefully separating overly bleached pieces before reintroducing brightness in a way that felt balanced and intentional. While I may not know all the technical terms, I do know that the end result is absolutely phenomenal--I have never loved my color more. As someone whose natural root has darkened over the years, I've struggled to maintain a blonde that feels natural and lived-in without harsh grow-out or that "zebra stripe" effect. Michelle completely solved that for me. This is, without question, the most seamless, elevated, lived-in blonde I've ever had--and I've tried multiple stylists over the past 4 years living in NYC. After hours of meticulous color work, Michelle then moved into installing my k-tip extensions. I'm not the easiest candidate for extensions since I already have a lot of natural hair, which meant she had to install a significant amount to ensure the added length still felt full and blended. She approached it with so much patience and attention to detail, and the result is stunning. The extension color matches my natural/lived-in tone perfectly. What really set Michelle apart, though, was the level of care beyond the chair. She took the time to educate me on extension-safe products--from serums to mousses to hairsprays--and even sent me home with extension-safe shampoo, conditioner, and hair oil so I could start off on the right foot. She also followed up with links to the proper brushes and tools to use. That level of thoughtfulness is rare. The entire experience felt like something you would expect at the highest-end salons in the city--yet at a price point that actually felt attainable and realistic for me. That alone is almost unheard of. I also felt genuinely listened to throughout the entire process. Michelle didn't just do what she thought was best--she created an open dialogue, really hearing my preferences while guiding me with her expertise. I had consulted with other stylists about extensions over the years, but she was the first person I felt completely confident trusting with my hair. I could not recommend Michelle more highly. Shampoo stations were roped off to meet social-distance guidelines. The employees were cleaning and spraying every 20 mins. I felt very safe and now have a fabulous haircut. **Tip extra!! These employees are going through incredible lengths to meet safety standards with less than half the volume of the clients to make a living wage. If you can afford to get your haircut, you can afford to compensate EXTRA for their care and service! They are putting their safety at risk, too!
