Most of my friends and family have had children long ago and used Sears or JCPenney. Not that the latter is a bad thing, but it wasn't the style I envisioned. So I took my search to Instagram. With one hashtag, Brilianna was among a few businesses the came up. I made a quick and easy inquiry and the rest was history. From the very first call, Irina was so easy to work with. She asked me what I had in mind then gave me a full rundown of her services. Moreover, she was honest with her capabilities. We had an out of box idea that we wanted to try as an announcement. She was honest that she'd try but her expertise was more timeless than comedic. We ended up not doing it and not because of Irina, but because we no longer felt it was necessary. After that first call, I felt confident booking with her and canceled all other business inquiries. I booked the 'Classic Session' which included a fully guided session, professional makeup and styling, and up to 4 looks. As part of the looks, you have the option of using their beautiful gowns and wraps for your photos. For me, this took a large load off of me. Imagine having to buy 4 different dresses for a maternity shoot and on top of that, figure out sizing, transport, etc. It would've been a hassle (just an FYI - you can bring your own, but her selection is soooo beautiful and high quality, there is no need to!). More than the gowns, I think this was just a great value for everything provided. Most of the photographers I had found during my search, did not include nearly as much as I received. After paying my deposit, Irina remained communicative and I received an easy guide that helped my partner and I fully prepare for our session. Fast forward to the day of our session, it felt like such a relaxing day. The studio is spacious, clean, and modern. I got straight to hair and makeup with Kristen. She was a gem - very kind, welcoming, attentive, and helpful from start to finish. I loved her work as well. Kristen did a soft glam look with beautiful blending. In addition, she added soft waves to my hair that held up nicely throughout the shoot and the rest of the day. Later in the morning, Irina came in and worked her magic. I showed her the looks I wanted and she gave her expertise on what would work best. Kristen acted as a stylist and helped keep me flawless throughout the shoot, while Irina guided me. I was nervous taking photos in my pregnant body. But Irina did a great job guiding me and encouraging me to relax. Her being a mom as well, it was nice to have her reassurance and tips. We went thru each look, including a few with my partner. At some points, I even began to cry because the experience of this moment with my partner was really heart warming. It felt very full circle. No doubt, Irina captured everything I wanted for my maternity photos - love, timelessness, and happiness. As promised, she returned the unedited proofs to us within a week and we made our final selections. I'm now waiting for the finished result but I am very pleased with the proofs. My package included 10 photos and it was truly hard to choose. That's how great her shots were! I've included some candid shots in this review which my partner took during the session. This is just to show how awesome the team worked to prep me and position me throughout the session. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my experience at Brilianna Photography. On such an important day, I expected to be the focus, and that was disappointing. She did not communicate in advance that she was double booked on that day. More recently, we confirmed a 3pm appointment for a wedding I was attending. However, a few days before, she called to say she would no longer be available at that time and could only do 12pm, without a clear explanation or apology. It left me scrambling to find an alternative. I dont mind if she needed to cancel, but suddenly she made it seems like I was inconveniencing her schedule. And to me, that was very unprofessional. Pricing and expectations are also not clearly communicated, and frequent mentions of tips felt unprofessional. Overall, while she has talent, reliability, transparency, and respect for a client's time are essential--especially for important events--and that was consistently lacking in my experience. For anyone looking for a more dependable experience, I ended up going with Dream Wedding on 150th, and they were professional, organized, and respectful of my time. Again they were great with the baby and had the baby in 3 outfits and 3 settings. The photographers were great with both my kids - keeping the big one entertained and the small one quiet. We got the digital photos back a little over a week from when we went to the studio and our prints almost a month later. The big photo print was great on canvas but the smaller photo print with frame was shoddily done without any protective covering/clear film over the photo. The photos and edits came out great but the quality of frames prints compared to my first experience was slightly disappointing. Besides that, I'd still recommend them for an affordable newborn photoshoot - just be mindful that any additional person besides the parents will be $80.

I'm a first time mom, and after doing some online research I decided to give Oh Baby Photo Studio a shot. I contacted them, I believe, back in April in hopes of scheduling a shoot for my baby boy's "Half Birthday" (six months) photos. After not getting a response after about 6 days I sent a follow up email, and literally, 5 minutes after I hit "send" I received a phone call to answer the questions I mentioned in the email and confirm the date! Note: No deposit was required and cash is preferred payment. So many photographers require a 50% more deposit up front so it was interesting to see it not be the case, but we were also thankful for that as new parents! Unfortunately, we had to switch the date twice due to unforeseen circumstances and each time Oh Baby Studio was flexible and understanding with us, which was soooo much appreciated and showed the level of compassion and professionalism. (Esp when dealing with babies/kids because, let's face it, things happen and plans change!) Fast Forward to the day of the shoot (finally!) which was this past Thursday and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that there was valet parking in the building. We were driving from the Bronx with a sleepy six month old, a smash cake, outfits and props so this was a very welcome surprise to not have to drive around in search of parking that would potentially cause us to have to trek to the studio. Also, the gentleman in the garage handling the valet was an absolute JOY, super friendly, and made our first impression just wonderful from the start! Once inside, we were greeted by Chris who was truly amazing from start to finish! I don't know if it is always the case but he was a one-man-show but absolutely wonderful with our baby boy! He asked us to sit close and directed us on what to do/etc to keep our baby boy's attention and make him smile. We had three wardrobe changes and as mentioned we brought our own clothes but there were also a plethora of them available on site to use. Additionally the sets/backgrounds were sooo cute and unique. Little chairs, beds, lights, etc the small, unique touches were just darling versus just a simple "paper" backdrop. At the end of the session Chris let us know the photos would be avail VE in 7 days (pretty fast, considering he took sooooo many!) From start to finish the experience was INCREDIBLE and honestly speaking, as long as we are living in NYC, I will never again go to a different family photographer.
