They checked the codes here for the design. They may have been in business for 21 years but like a local surgeon stated " you're only as good as your last case. That rank a zero.

Turns out a squirrel made a home under one of my panels and ate through some wire and a converter. The techs found the area where the damage was done and fixed it with a new part. By the way, they handled my service call within 2 days and also had to deal with snow in spots on the roof. They took the damaged component to remove it from the monitoring system and added the replacement. Exact did my install over two years ago and can't tell you how happy I am that I chose them for my solar system. FIRST CLASS!!!!

Thanks to Robert and Ryan! But I do have 2 issues with the sales. 1. They bill me $675 for handling township electric work permitting, and the township price is $250, a 170% markup. The salesman said it is because they have to hire high-priced inspectors. I told him the $250 township fee includes the inspection. He said I was wrong. The inspector came in today and was paid by the Township. I was right. 2. The sales tried to bill me $500 for a loose house electric meter. I told him that multiple workers in the past had checked and found nothing wrong with the meter itself. Just the screws to the wall were loose. We verbally agreed that the installation crew would re-check during work and would adjust the price accordingly. Robert and Ryan did check and found nothing wrong with the meter and re-attached it back to the wall, but still charged me $400 claiming they were not allowed to adjust more than $100. I would be happy to pay premium for honest job, but $875 out of the $2,468 I paid to Ampd is for nothing. I bought the connector separately. Robert and Ryan did a good job, but the sales process as a whole was less than honest.

His initial proposal was the most detailed one I received, and while it wasn't the lowest quote, I felt much more comfortable going with Pennstar Solar as a small, locally owned business with customers who were incredibly happy with the work that Mike did. There was only one hiccup that happened on install day, when the installers felt we should replace our service line before they installed, and while it was unexpected, Mike worked quickly to get quotes from other electricians to get the service line replaced, and the installers were able to come back two days later to complete the install. And now less than three months after initially requesting a quote from Pennstar, my solar system is up and running and connected to PECO, thanks to Mike!

After submitting the consultation request online, he came out quickly to evaluate the project, and I received a detailed quote just a few hours later. Once I decided to move forward, he had us on the schedule within two days. Installation took less than four hours and was finished before noon. Since drywall had to be cut, I expected a huge mess, but he was incredibly careful. He even showed me his brand-new clean shoes before coming inside! There was very little dust, and cleanup literally took about 30 seconds. The amount of natural light the Solatube brings into what used to be a dark stairwell is remarkable. The light changes naturally throughout the day, making the space feel bright while still feeling like natural daylight, and the solar-powered night light was definitely worth adding. The total cost was incredibly fair for the quality of the product and installation.
