By 7 pm there was barely any lines .....the first surge comes early for lawn seats We had the Nashville chicken and it was good It's all premade so it arrives seconds after ordering The view is pretty ... you can't really see the river It was a perfect 75°- 80°. The venue is five stars The BAD part....we went to see SYMPHONY ON THE RIVER MISSOULA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS THE MUSIC OF ELTON JOHN The sound was horrible. There was some sort of LOUD constant hum... we think it was the singers band, and too loud bass. Never thought I'd have a delicious meal at a music venue but KettleHouse blew my expectations out of the water. Had the tacos which had a great salsa paired with some picked onions. The venue was absolutely stunning and it was the perfect place to see Vampire Weekend. I saw a lot of people complaining about the way the venue handled people coming in and out but we had a great experience. We took the bus (which is FREE) to the venue and got dropped off not too far from the venue. Got there about 15 minutes before doors opened and the lines were short. On the way back we took an Uber back to our Airbnb. I highly recommend PLANNING before blaming the venue. read more

Acoustics are good but don't waste your money. This place has so many problems they don't seem to know how to handle a large show. What a sh@& show. Parking is a mess and only one entrance. Walk for 30 minutes then wait in line 30 minutes while their one entrance tries to wand and search everyone. We got to Bonner an hour before the show and finally got in 15 minutes after show started. The grass seats are so ridiculously sloped you can't even sit. Couldn't stand it anymore so we had to get up and leave. Not worth what we paid plus the inflated hotel prices for the events. I have been to a couple outdoor amphitheater venues and this was not my favorite, but it was alright. Let's be clear..the artists that perform here are awesome, but the seating however is a little bit a sardine fest to say the least. I have been to one concert here and the seating is what I didn't really enjoy. The grass is open to everyone to sit where you want and boy do they pack it in. The cramped-ness wouldn't be a problem if the hill wasn't at huge slant. By the time it is completely full of people and ready to start the show, everyone has already slid down the hill towards the fence that separates the walkway from seating. What I loved about the venue, besides the awesome talent that performs there is the view! You can't beat a view of the mountains situated right next to the river which give it that natural acoustic. I would also suggest grabbing a drink or two before the concert starts (yes, yes you can get as many drinks as you can carry!) because it does become a little hard to go in and out of the seating area. I think when I return I will most likely try to get a reserved seat or grab the seats at the back of the grassy area on the wall (slide resistant). I am very excited to see a new outside venue in town that is bringin in some big talent! read more

such an awesome venue to see a concert right down on the BlackfootRiver. it is like you are in a mountain bowl so the acoustics are great and it makes for a great atmosphere. They have 3 to 4 shows a week during the summer so check it out! read more

Very beautiful amphitheater in a great location. Parking is amazing if you get there early enough. I will say, security could use quite a bit of work as far as communication. Every person working had a different answer to every question, and the line organization to get in was horrendous--people who had waited for several hours ended up behind people who had arrived right before gates opened. When the show ended, security didn't bother letting people take a second to breathe before shooing them away. While some workers were nice, several were absolutely nasty and disrespectful. As someone who has been to several amphitheaters and even worked at a few, I was disappointed with the way things were handled. read more

Parking was good, sound quality was decent (seemed quiet on the hill) The pit security were the least friendly and understanding. Our whole group had issues entering the pit, one of my tickets got rejected (told to go talk with the box office over a torn ticket) while a larger female employee grabbed a friend by their backpack saying "you can't be down here" while they were pulling out their ticket for a wrist band. I got mocked by this woman after she saw my cup and assumed I was too intoxicated to understand her. Super uncomfortable situation and one of our group was sent back to the hill, good waste of $45. This venue is superb. As others have mentioned, getting out of the parking lot is indeed a bit of a hassle (you probably shouldn't be driving anyway), as is navigating from the lawn to the concessions/bathrooms during a show. Beyond that, however, everything is excellent. Logjam knows how to put on events. You never wait in line more than about 3 minutes for a beer, even at sold out shows. I do not get the complaints about excessive prices. $6 for a 16oz microbrew would not be very overpriced at a bar let alone a prime venue. Compare, for example, the Gorge, where a 24 oz macrobrew will run you $15. Likewise, the food prices seem fair for what you get, and $12 for a burger and fries is reasonable, even if the burgers are not as good as they are at the Top Hat, which is owned by the same entity. Finally, the shows themselves are great. Security is mellow, the sightlines are fantastic, and the sound is pretty much unimpeachable. And the views cannot be beat. I cannot even fathom how much money I have spent at Logjam shows at the Top Hat, Wilma, and the Ampitheater, all of which are top-notch venues by any standard. I am so glad Logjam is here and I will never hesitate to go to any show they promote that interests me, because they are always great concert-going experiences. read more

Really nice venue. Every seat is a great seat. It is a very intimate setting. Food and drink choices are very good. Homemade pickles are amazing. My only complaint, which is why I kept two stars off, is the lack of a system to get people out of the parking area. Everything stops when the shuttle buses go in and out. I have been to many different venues from small to major cities. I have never been to one that didn't have a system in place to move people out in a smooth and orderly fashion, except the old Candlestick Park in San Francisco. Now that I know, I can plan if I come back for another concert. read more

We saw Camp and Trampled by Turtles - the bands were fabulous! Everything was nice and started on time. The concessions were fast and reasonable concert prices. The venue was fabulously set up and very nice. BUT I'm giving 4 stars for the poor job the staff did monitoring the crowd. We paid for reserved seats - in the actual sitting section. The couple in front of us decided to stand up half way through the concert blocking the entire view of us and the 6 rows behind us. If everyone was standing - no big deal but no just them - great concert of butt shaking. Venue is fabulous! Great sound and amenities. Getting out of the parking lot is a nightmare. On the bank of the black foot river unbelievable views! A real mountain outside feel there's not a better venue anywhere! Can't wait to come to more events here. I loved seeing Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit this last weekend - the setting was beyond beautiful and the crowd was sweet, and the music simply amazing. But the food and drink concessions were a disappointment. No draft beer. No. Draft. Beer. What?!?! And the food entrees were subpar and for my taste, basically inedible. Will I come back? Yes. But I will get my food situation sorted prior. The lack of draft beer makes no sense, especially since KettleHouse is a brewery... So. Weird. read more

The reason for the 4 is because this place is new and still working out the pros and cons of the new music venue.food and drink could be a little less in price especially since you make the beer next door.i get it if trying to generate more money to help make the place much more better.the food was good when having it during the Melissa etheridge and pat benatar/Neil Geraldo shows.i have had kettlehouse and have many family members that rave about it.hope to look forward to revisit this and bump this up to a 5 star when going to future shows.one other thing I noticed while walking on the lawn area and I noticed with big sky amphitheater's grounds.someone and 1-2 more people should (if not already doing it?)empty the garbage containers more and pick up debris off grounds so people won't be tripping over the trash and glasses/bottles/cans people leave behind? read more

Amazing music venue. Having seen lots of concerts all over the Pacific Northwest, this is probably the best setup for a great concert experience. Just saw Sheryl Crow and we had a great time...no bad seats in the house. I'd advise eating prior to a show as food prices are exorbitant (food was good though) and I wish they would stop selling food during the main attraction as people in the lawn tended to migrate back and forth to the vendors which is rude and annoying. I'd suggest either using lawn paint or to mow grid system on the lawn section identifying pathways for people to move as it became somewhat chaotic (and dangerous) in the dark when people were trying to walk through to crowd of folks sitting on the ground, tripping on legs. A lady tripped right in front of me and would have hit the concrete ledge at the back of the lawn area had I not been sitting on the ledge and caught her. Several really rude people who came very late and inebriate sat/stood right in the middle of the lane between the rows forcing people to attempt to wend their way around them.
