If you book online, you end up stuck in the East wing, which has a community bathroom sensor sink that has no cold option so you have to rinse your mouth out with hot water. There is no elevator so you have to carry your bags up and down the stairs and down the long hallway. And you're paying the same price as the new tower that has all of the amenities. Stayed September 18, 2023 Shears were ripped from being old and wear. Bathroom vent was gross, looked like it was not cleaned for a long time, lamp shades, stained and falling apart, comforter dirty. When we first walked in the room the chair had food on it, when I wiped it off with a washcloth, the wash cloth was black. Two kids yelling and screaming in the pool, employee went by and never reminded them that there was no yelling in the pool, we left after 5 minutes in the hot tub. read more

Just their "deli" was open. Which had a small menu. Room wasn't cleaned enough. Fecal matter all over toilet seat. Had to call front desk to have someone come clean it. No microwaves, no fridge. Sink was "automatic," I get if they're trying to save water, but the thing never turned off on its own? So what's the point? They didn't have complimentary coffee, water, breakfast materials. There is a certain special magic that exists at this hotel. I am a group leader and brought 81 people here for a four day stay. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by a man named Maurice who presented me with a beautiful welcoming gift. This present earned a place on my nightstand and sleep nearby me each day because I felt it gave me good luck. Our group had an amazing experience at this hotel. Many members won at at slots and took home enough money to pay for their vacation. This first impression has made a lasting impression. I plan to request it each time I visit with future tours. Please worry about your family or safety here, not a joke. I was sexually assaulted here, and security didn't protect me or help me. They proceeded to actually charge me for a room the day of , and after for over 400$ that I didn't approve or even stay after I was assaulted. They kicked the man out, and said that sufficed for my security. Which is why they refused my refund, I was coping with what happened to me, and I stayed late to discuss the matter with the police, and was charged for a full day stay because of the circumstances with needing a place to privately speak to the police. I do not recommend staying here, or being a single woman do not go alone to grab a drink, when your alone perpetrators will find you if your vulnerable, and the security doesn't watch or help women when they see it here. I have the full olive report, and my room charges still but they will not refund me. They said it's my fault basically. Please be careful here. read more

We were there on a Thursday night and the table limits were very reasonable--$5 blackjack, $2 roulette. Nice. We decided our first venture since the onset of the Covid Pandemic would be the Kewadin Casino. Everyone wore masks and no contact temperatures were taken. We booked a King Suite. The room was clean and spacious with very comfortable down pillows too! Coffee pot, microwave and tiny fridge in room. Our bed was pretty comfortable as well. We enjoyed the jetted spa tub that held two larger adults comfortably. Unfortunately the hot tub at the pool was not repaired. Evidently they awaited a part? There was a sauna. The type where you pour water over hot rocks. It was enjoyable. The pool was a bit chilly. All and all it was a nice time away. Wish the restaurants and bingo were open but the pandemic has put a damper on us all. The staff was very friendly! Specially the staff upon entering the casino at the hotel area. Marie while on a Michigan casino bus tour in September of 2019. The Good: 1. For the motorcycle enthusiast: they offer covered parking for 6 to 8 motorcycles next to the valet entrance. 2. Our room was clean, well maintained and did not smell like cigarettes. (We stayed in a non-smoking room.) 3. The hotel bed was super comfy.....so comfy I didn't want to get out of it Sunday morning. (That could also be due to how much I drank the prior evening. LOL!) 4. They offer plenty of dining experiences: DreamCatchers Restaurant, Signatures Lounge, Trail Deli and room service. 5. ATTENTION LADIES!!! Friday is Ladies Night from 5:00pm -7:30pm. Hot Seat Draws and Prize Draws! Must be present to WIN at Rapids Lounge, adjacent to the Huron Gaming Room. 6. We got $10 of FREE play each day we were at the casino since we were on a casino bus tour. #winningbig 7. Since we were on a casino bus tour we got $10 in dining coupons that we were able to combine and use at the DreamCatchers Restaurant. 8. The entire staff at Kewadin Casino & Hotel - Sault Ste. Marie was phenomenal! Everyone was super helpful, friendly, encouraging, polite and knowledgeable about the local area. A+ 9. Lots of beautiful artwork and waterfalls to admire on your visit. 10. Not worth a star at all. Front dest is extremely rude, act like we were an inconvenience while checking in. Not one smile, thank you or enjoy your stay. Were lied to when we called about my son leaving is earbuds in the room. Thankfully they had a maid which was extremely nice let us search the room for them, even though we were told it was already cleaned and nothing was found. First time stay we were in a king room (extremely hot) called down to be switched and no other king rooms available so had to switch to two queen. Asked if they could just look at the problem and they said they knew about the problem it's the even side rooms that are hot, then why isn't the problem getting fixed? We stayed at this hotel on June 3, 2022. I went to the players club booth to receive my bridge toll back, as advertised on their website. I was told they could not honor this because I did not get this in the form of a mailer. I then went to the slot casino office and talked to a hostess about this. I showed her the add. She also would not honor it. She said I would have to talk to a casino manager. At this point I gave up. I gave her my players card number, told her to check with the manager, and that I would check later to see if the $8 was added to my account. Expedia was helpful, the hotel was NOT. The hotel appeared to be at low capacity so plenty of rooms were available the next day. Very POOR customer service, I will never stay their again!!!! No fridge or microwave in the room unless you pay extra. Carpets in halls are very stained, dated room decor, elevators are all scratched up on the inside. I was going to give this place two stars, because I hate to start off with the worst possible rating, but the more I stay here, the more deserving of a single star it becomes. They just don't seem to care. I should add that I don't stay here by choice. My company has a contract with this place and we employees can't seem to have it changed. The worst thing about this place is that it smells like cigarette smoke. Everywhere! It is a strong smell, too. Every room I've stayed in has smelled like someone is smoking right outside. I am usually a heavy sleeper, but I wake up numerous times because my throat is burning from smoke inhalation. When I've called down to the front desk they've told me that the only smoking floor is the sixth floor, so it shouldn't smell like smoke on any other floor. Well, it does. I think they are so used to the smell, or smokers themselves, that they don't notice. And they don't really seem to enforce any smoking bans. I've even posted pictures showing that some rooms on the fifth floor have No Smoking signs, and some don't. I've resorted to putting a towel on the floor at the bottom of the door and dousing it with water, like they tell you to do if there's a fire. It sorta, kinda helps. The staff, besides not caring about the smoking issues, seems to be indifferent towards their jobs, as well. The people working at the front desk are never especially friendly. They seem aggravated about having to work every time that I've checked in. All frowny and such. The housekeepers never smile and say "hi" as I'm walking past (which they do in every other hotel I've ever stayed in). In fact, last week one of the housekeepers almost ran me over with her cart, and then proceeded to "race" me down the hall, causing me to have to duck into a recessed doorway to avoid being hit. It was really weird. I can't comment about the casino or restaurants, because I've never ventured to those. I imagine my lungs would be black in 30 seconds if I went there, so I stay far away. Long story short, if you have issues with cigarette smoke, avoid this hotel. I imagine there are much better hotels nearby that have a welcoming staff and clean air that would appreciate your business more than this place. read more

This place is huge. But not just in the casino sense. This place is a hotel, casino, restaurant, lounge, event center, cafe, gift shop...Boyfriend messed up reservations and we ended up having to drive another hour to Sault Ste. Marie instead St. Ignace. Greatest mistake ever. This location is more updated. We got a Jacuzzi room, it was very clean and looked more updated...Huge Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. It had a living area with a fold out sofa and your typical mini-fridge and coffee pot. The bedroom is it's own separate room. Two flat screen TVs. Plenty of storage for your clothes. They gave us $10 in free game play for signing up for their player's card and $10 more for staying at the hotel. They have valet parking if needed for the hotel as well. We didn't eat here, so I can't say anything for the food. read more

Vegas . . . it ain't. A good time . . . it is! I am not a big gambler, but the hotel gives you $20 in casino cash to get that ball rolling. What is not to love? You have to use the casino cash on designated machines, but that included video poker so that kept me entertained. $20 goes a long way, when machine plays start at $0.25. Also, they have $5 blackjack tables. FIVE DOLLARS! The bar is pretty cool, too. A round for four people (of mostly craft beers) was only eleven dollars. Cheap and good booze earns you a lot of brownie points in my book! The hotel room was sufficient for my purposes. It was clean, had a king size bed, wi-fi and an HDTV. Most importantly, it was super cheap compared to other 2-star hotels in the area. The hotel also had a shuttle to take you downtown, so you can party without getting into a car wreck. I've been to just about all of the casinos around the state of Michigan - this place by far was the biggest joke of them all. This place is run like a bootleg casino that you see in a movie that features a small town and a bunch of corrupt people running the place. I understand it's the Soo, but to compare this place to a real casino like the ones in Detroit or Soaring Eagle, is just ridiculous. It was a busy Friday night when I went - only two blackjack tables open - craps wasn't even running, and the roulette table I checked out was FILTHY. I mean, the felt on this table had to be as old as the casino, with cigarette burnholes in it, ashes all over the table - even the chips they use in this place are outdated and disgusting. Slot selection was terrible. Bartenders were rude to me and the bar itself was a joke as well. What kind of bar carries Bells but not Blue Moon? They didn't even have Coors! The buffet is the only actual restaurant that they have. Aside from the buffet, there is a small deli. We ate the buffet, which was really strange because you're seated, the waitress gives you a menu (I thought it was a buffet!?) but it turns out, there's a menu, and a buffet. We got the buffet because we knew the food on the menu would probably be bad, much like the buffet looked. All frozen food - literally nothing on this buffet was fresh, unless you count steamed broccoli as fresh. The decor is outdated and gives the place a disgusting look. I will say, however, the next morning, they had a breakfast buffet for something like $5/person. That was actually a good deal - unlimited waffles, bacon, eggs, sausage - even biscuits and gravy. It's still sad to consider thinking a breakfast buffet was 100x better than their dinner buffet. Lastly, our room wasn't so nice either. The decor is what I expected for a casino hotel room, however, our room stunk like an old lady. You know that smell of dirty old lady and nasty old perfume? Our entire room smelled like that and we couldn't get rid of it. Long story short, if you're going here, the gaming floor is small, the slot selection is bad, their aren't a lot of tables open, the buffet is all frozen food, and the rooms are just so-so. Stopped by on a Friday night greeted at door with a sign saying all patrons must wear a mask. Not aware of any out breaks in the U.P. but donned on a mask anyway. The mask mandate may have had an effect on a small and very quiet customers base playing. You have to draw the conclusion masks kill the fun and good times. The deli was closed and their larger of two bars was also closed. There was no problem providing space between patrons! When I asked management why the mask mandate i was told most michigan casinos were doing this ( which proved wrong by later going to Odowa Mackinaw 6 miles away where there was no mask mandate). The vibe and amount of customers were total difference. Not sure what prompted this change but i have had both vacine shots and feel confident. It's some hunk of low grade steak they claim is Strip steak but it is RAW and you can't chew it. And Don't complain, the manager doesn't like that. Also, if you stay the night, don't expect to reheat your crappy food in your room, they took out All the Microwaves unless you stay in a suite. And if you want a microwave, you have to pay a $3.00 rent fee. WTF! Are people shoving microwaves down their pants and walking out? I've just put $300.00 in your Slot Machines and Blackjack tables and you can't let me use your Microwave? Oh, there's No fridge in the room either so bring a cooler to keep your beer and wine cold. The TVs are small, the coffee machine (in your Bathroom) are the kind that Leak. You don't get free Birthday money anymore unless you're a Gold member. No discount on drinks. No wonder this place isn't ever crowded. Go to Bay Mills down the road. Trust me. The food is Better, they have Crab night, they have Real Prime rib, the drinks are a Free while playing, the rooms are nicer and the staff is nicer. The hotel is a very average casino hotel. The casino was "dead" although I have to say it was a Wednesday night. The rooms were not very special either. If you want a "room" to stay in, it will do. The facility itself is quite nice. Large convention center and adjoining hotel space. The casino proper is pretty large as well. We didn't see any real food options outside of some cookie stand or something...though we weren't exactly clear-headed while stammering around...and the gift shop sucked monkey nards. They seriously DO NOT sell cheesy souvenir lighters in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (nor do they seem to have any in most of Ontario). Well, them dranks ain't free. Not expensive neither. But sho'nuff not free like they should be when I'm droppin' a hundred bucks for 2hrs worth of screwin' around. At least they QUARTER roulette here!! In Vegas or AC, the best I could find was $1 roulette, with a minimum of $15 on the table per spin. This joint here (and they had both a real one, and a computerized one where you sit around and it spins without a dealer (which is nice since you don't have to tip anyone after each time you hit) has a $2 minimum. So instead of dropping $100 to sit down, you can sit down with $20 and last the same amount of time. The slots area had some crazy $.05 machines that were good for drunkenly staring off into electronic heaven *now complete with bells and whistles* for a half hour at a time. One machine took $20 in 5 pulls, even though it called itself a penny slot machine, because hitting maximum bet costs you 400 pennies!! Fuck you Indiana Jones Slot Machine!!! Hope you aren't hungry after leaving this place, not only is it not near anything that sells anything, but the gleaming metropolis next door is just as devoid of food as the casino. The long drive back to Brimley (only 7 "real" miles, but somehow we always drove 20+ miles) is also littered with nothingness. Two nights we stopped at gas stations (or Gas Bars as you Ontario-ites call them) to get hangover-helpers and only one of those stops actually produced a quasi-meal (which really sucked shit in a major way). read more
