We had an excellent experience with Key Largo Dive Center. We went out with captain Larry for mini lobster season 2020. The boat is intimate with only six passengers/divers on at a time. We absolutely loved this. Other dive shops in the area will pack 30 or so divers on a boat and you feel like you're just lost amongst the crowd. The crew was very friendly and made it a point to talk to us and get to know us personally. The other divers on the boat were also very friendly. The six person limit makes fir a really great friendly and intimate dive. We would not hesitate to dive with them again and recommend them!

We did a pool refresher course and went out on two dives with KLDC in early November and would highly recommend them! Our first point of contact was with Amber via email at the shop who quickly responded to our inquiries. She was able to schedule us for our refresher courses the following day and also assisted us with faulty second stage regulator replacements, which saved the rest of our dives. We also had the pleasure of meeting and diving with guide Max who was informative, personable, and really went out of his way to ensure that we all had a great experience. Thank you KLDC; we'll be back soon!!!

We chose to dive here cause they said on the telephone they allow lion fish hunting as long as it wasn't on the protected reef. Also this place was very competitive in price (aka they beat everyone else's prices). Our dive was scheduled for a morning dive but we had to change the dive to the next day due to bad weather. We were called the day before and told by the dive shop that they were changing the dive to a deep wreck dive and then a reef dive. No problem we r both Advanced open water divers and we told the dive shop that. The dive shop told us they would see us tomorrow. When we went to check in we found out that since we hadn't done a deep dive in over a year and a half that we needed to have a guide go with us ($30 more per person). Then we were told that we had to use nitrox because the rest of the group was using nitrox ($14 charge). Lastly they said we now had to rent a dive computer for the nitrox ($10 charge). I had my own dive computer but it happened to have a dead battery (my fault). The dive operation was run very professionally and safely. I just through the extra charges ($54 per person) were kind of bs especially since they were not explained over the phone after the dive shop called and told us they were changing the dive. We weren't able to go lion fish hunting which I understand cause we were on the protected reef. I would dive here again, I just would make sure to tell future travelers to ask more specific questions about pricing when on the phone. The dive staff was great!

Such great people. Great place to go and dive in the Florida keys just a short drive from Miami. Amazing crew and boat.

After contacting several Kay Largo dive charters we decided to chartered a two tank afternoon dive here and was not disappointed. They had no problem with there being just 3 certified divers and two of us just snorkeling. The guys at the shop where extremely helpful with getting all our rental gear situated. It took about 40 minutes and we where all fitted and ready to meet the captain down at the dock. The captain and dive master were vary friendly and helped us load all our gear onto the boat. After getting the rundown of the boat and discussing our dive options we decided on Molasses Reef. We had a great dive. The dive master new the spot vary well and new where all the interesting finds where. We dove several spots in Islamorada that week but Molasses was our favorite. Definitely gonna use these guys again next year.

I was genuinely worried that once we got in the water, I wouldn't be able to do it. From the moment we arrived at Sailfish Scuba, we were welcomed like old friends. The boat ride out was enjoyable, and the entire crew--from the dive guides to the captain--was incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and reassuring. My companion has more than 50 dives under his belt, so he gave T, the owner, a heads-up that this was my first dive and that I was pretty nervous. T got in the water with me and stayed by my side throughout our descent. When I started to feel that familiar panic setting in, he calmly kept me moving down while continuously checking on me and making sure I was okay. I'm so grateful he did. If I had been left to descend on my own, I honestly think I would have surfaced several times and possibly not completed the dive at all. Having T right there gave me the confidence I needed to push through that initial fear. Once I was down, everything changed. I became much more comfortable, and by the next three dives, I was able to descend completely on my own. My companion, who is an experienced diver, said Sailfish Scuba is one of the best dive companies he has ever been with--and after my experience, I completely understand why. The professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care this crew showed made such a huge difference for me as a new diver. I went from being terrified that I wouldn't be able to do the dive to finishing it feeling excited and confident about getting back in the water. We would absolutely recommend Sailfish Scuba to anyone, especially newer divers who may be feeling nervous or unsure of themselves. We can't wait to come back and dive with them again!

The entire team was welcoming, professional, patient, and truly cared about my success and safety. From the very first day, I felt like I was part of the family. A very special thank you to Michaela. She went above and beyond in every possible way. She helped me find a hotel, recommended great restaurants, gave me directions, answered all of my questions, and even helped me find childcare so I could focus on my training. She also personally helped care for my child during part of my three-day course, which meant the world to me. As a parent, that kind of kindness and support is something I'll never forget. Her generosity, compassion, and genuine heart made this experience so much easier and more enjoyable. My instructor, Tarek Salem, was exceptional. He is patient, calm, knowledgeable, and an excellent teacher. He explained every skill thoroughly, made sure I understood everything before each dive, and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed. I always felt safe and well taken care of. I also want to thank Elara Moultrie. She was friendly, patient, encouraging, and always focused on everyone's safety. Her positive attitude made every dive fun and helped create such a welcoming environment. This wasn't just a place to earn certifications--it was a place where people truly care about their students. I left with my Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certifications, wonderful memories, and friends I'll never forget. If you're looking for a dive center with outstanding instructors and people who genuinely care about you both in and out of the water, I highly recommend this team. I'll definitely be back for more training and more dives. Thank you all for making this an unforgettable experience!

I also called them and they were informative and helpful. I chose to dive all 3 days with them and I successfully logged 10 dives. The Rainbow Reef teams were great. They have multiple boats, they run a tight ship and made it a pleasure to dive with them. I do hope to return to Key Largo for more diving and I would certainly use Rainbow Reef again. We do want to say that couple of the staff really stood out for excellent customer service - Jo as a dive guide was amazing, as was Savannah on the retail side - but the overall attitude is very much like you are just a number to fill seats. I question the safety standards. We went out in pretty questionable conditions (there was still thunder and lightening when we left the dock), and we witnessed people diving that really had no idea what they were doing, were bouncing around, kicking coral, not at all in control of themselves in the water - and none of this was directly addressed. The customer service in the dive center was pretty terrible - after we purchased over $1000 in equipment at their retail store, we were told we would get a free dive. Cool. So we booked a dive for 3 days later, and when we showed up, we were told that because we booked online instead of calling them, we could not use that free dive. We tried a few times to get this resolved and were just told "well that is our policy." There are so many options for diving in this area, I do not recommend this shop - they do not seem honest or like they really care about the dive experience, just filling seats.

What is world-class about Horizon is their ability to manage both technical/experienced divers, and new divers, on the same boat, in such a way that everyone is safe and has a memorable experience. The guides, captains, and mates are all exceptional, trained, experienced, and they are all still having fun diving, which means you will too! The equipment was clean and in excellent condition, the boats were newer and very well maintained, and the entire facility was spotless. They even have great air conditioning, clean changing rooms, and outdoor showers to rinse off after your trip. They also don't fill their boats to capacity, which makes for a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience. They also provided refreshments on board, including chips, water, and soft drinks, which was a nice touch. The crews--Captain Aaron and Ashlynn on our first trip and Captain Brad and Ashlynn on our second--were outstanding. They were funny, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. The snorkeling itself was incredible. One of the highlights was the Christ of the Abyss snorkel, which was absolutely unforgettable. As a Christian, seeing the Christ statue underwater brought me back to where it all began. To think that Christ made everything around you and all the creatures is truly a tribute. We saw colorful tropical fish, a stingray, moray eel, and even sea turtles. Rent the GoPro--you won't regret it. We were amazed at how much wildlife we captured on video that we completely missed while we were in the water. It was such an amazing experience that we booked a second trip before leaving. I honestly have no negatives. If we're ever back in the Keys, Silent World will be our first stop. I'm already planning to bring my kids here in the future. Highly recommended!!!

Brad took us to two locations that were perfect for both snorkeling and diving. The first was a reef where we were able to get up close to the reef right at the surface of the water. The 2nd was a large ship wreck that you can see in the pictures attached to this review. Brad also made sure that my brother was given good directions as it was his first time ever snorkeling. He also made the waiting on the boat enjoyable while we waited for the divers to get settled in luring fish back to the boat where we even saw a barracuda chase a yellow fin snapper right out of the water (picture attached). Brad also took us to sites where we were the only snorklers which made the trip even better! I appreciated the view without all of the other snorkler fins in the way. The shop had lots of masks, snorkels, and fins to borrow and made the process of getting on and off the boat very streamline. There is another large snorkeling company in the same shopping strip, so just make sure you are going to the correct door. The other company was very friendly and guided us to the correct location upon arrival. There was ample parking when we arrived, but I imagine when the other company has lots of customers, the parking could get crowded. The parking is also on shells and not paved.
